Room & en-suite bath were clean, comfortable & adequately sized. Outside terrace & pool were great for relaxing after a day of hiking. Maite was very accommodating & helpful with good English language skills. Dinners here each night were delicious

Our Mac's Adventure self-guided walking trip booked us into Posada El Parral. The owners were so nice and helpful, the room nicely set up, and dinner by owner chef Ivan excellent. Benaocaz is a charming little "white town" in hills. Great hiking in the area. This was a favorite of places we stayed on the trip.

A truly fabulous place to stay. From the moment we arrived we received such a friendly welcome. Lovely terrace, good beer, coffee and wine and the food in the evening was simply superb. A lovely couple who are clearly working hard to succeed. Even if you don’t stay here, and you should, then eat here!!

My wife and I were on a week long village-to-village hiking trip in the Sierra de Grazalema mountains. Posada El Parral was the unexpected highlight of our trip. Our hosts, Maite and Ivan, who run the inn were warm and welcoming and absolutely fabulous. The posada is great, with small, clean, well-furnished rooms and a lovely terrace where we sat in the evening looking at birds and meeting fellow travelers. The village is quiet and sleepy, but with some nice old Nazari ruins and tons of great hiking and bird watching in the surrounding areas. But the very best part of our stay was the food. Don't miss dinner here. Ivan is a amazing cook and we had such a good meal the first night we went back for more the second night. It is amazing what he can do in their small kitchen. The cheese plate was outstanding with six different local cheeses. The warmed spinach salad (with Iberian ham and pesto) was to die for and the wild pig cheeks were delicious (the menu says they are served with "french fries", but this description doesn't do justice to the crispy potato base). The desserts are all homemade and the Portuguese-style creamy custard is outstanding. Did I mention the homemade marmalade? They served us a variety of great wines, all locally sourced, many organic (the Holgado was my favorite). It was chilly the first night, so they built a fire for us in the ample fireplace. This was by far our favorite spot on our hiking vacation. We can't wait to go back.

I can only echo what others have said about this place, it is an excellent place to stay right in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema mountains. The owners have really created something unique, I can't remember the last time I felt so at home in a hotel. I think its simply because the owners do really care about the service they are providing. The room we stayed in (No 1) had a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains it was simply furnished but spotlessly clean as was the en-suite. Outside there is a first floor terrace and a small pool, while downstairs is a very inviting looking dining room with extra tables outside (I have done a separate review of the restaurant but suffice to say it was excellent) The only slight confusion was at breakfast time, we expected a menu but instead we had to say what we wanted and it was cooked for us fresh. A good test of our spanish. All in all highly recommended
