The Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta garners mixed reviews, with guests praising the hotel's location and scenic views, but criticizing the need for interior updates. Service experiences vary, ranging from efficient to disappointingly slow. While the atmosphere is appreciated for its character, many travelers suggest that furniture and carpets require refreshing.
Rooms are often described as outdated, and despite their cleanliness, maintenance inconsistencies are apparent. Additionally, guests have called out the high cost of parking and dining, questioning the overall value of their stay.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed two nights. Location within walking distance of several attractions and restaurants, and easily reachable by subway. Nice view from the 36th floor. Fast elevators with very short wait.
No noise from the street, but I could hear some conversations in the rooms nearby and a frequent intermittent noise that sounded like a train (I assume it was the elevator). Ear plugs and white noise essential.
The room had old carpet, but was clean and reasonably well appointed (coffe maker, cooler, water bottles), with the exception of a few lapses: desk lamp not plugged in (and it was difficult to reach the outlet behind the desk), phone not working. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Plenty of well located power sockets. Well lit desk area (with the lamp plugged in).
Bathroom with everything in working order and standard toiletries.
Wifi was on the slow side, and it took several attempts to get the login page on my laptop (not an uncommon occurrence in many hotels).
Friendly staff.

I stayed at the Westin recently to attend a concert, a Braves game, and visit family in the area. After I booked, I was a little concerned about the negative reviews but needn’t have been. The Westin has a great location in the middle of everything with bus and subway stations within a block of the hotel. There are also numerous fast food and sit down restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey for what you get, but the omelette and make your own waffle stations are nice additions. Like most establishments, the Westin can feel understaffed at times, but everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping serviced the room daily even though the QR code said it was by request only and you didn’t immediately notice the plethora of conference attendees staying at the hotel.

My wife booked this stay for monster jam with our young kid since all the hotels near monster jam were a similar price. The idea was that being in the middle of the city with restaurants nearby would be nice.
I was looking at some of the reviews beforehand and was curious what I’d see with seemingly lots of great reviews and several negative.
My take after staying there a night is that it meets expectations and is fine/good. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the check-in receptionist friendly, shower nice, etc. For the price/location, I think overall it’s pretty fair. Keep in mind the valet parking was another $60, but I can kind of see why with all the valets they had running back and forth.
Breakfast was fine/good, not great.
I will say relating to something that this hotel can’t control but is part of the reason people book it and this relates to its location. It might just be me but the area felt a little dead from what I had experienced (esp for a Sat night) in years past. Again maybe it was just me getting older or something or an anomaly. The hotel can’t control this but just an observation.

I asked for a room not near an elevator or vending (you can hear the elevators going up and down in this hotel). Got a room 3 doors down from elevator. Asked for a new room. Got a room five doors down (5906). The staff, while very nice, were clearly confused about the location of the rooms and their proximity to the elevators and vending. Gave up on trying to get a room away from elevators, walked into the room and it smelled. I turned the air down thinking maybe it was just stuffy (room set to 78). No. When we returned to our room that evening it was very clear that the room had been urinated in. A LOT. I could barely sleep it was so prominent on my side of the bed and the carpet was "crunchy" (ie: wet/dried) under the desk/office chair area. SO GROSS. Also we had no waste basket in our bathroom. Annoying.
The next morning I asked for a new room and was given another room.....4 doors down from the elevator. The shower would only produce hot water at night. Luke warm the next morning. At least it didn't smell of urine and it had a trash basket and an extra chair in the room so I guess that's what we consider winning at the Westin.
Rooms are clearly in need of an overhaul. Everything is OLD and rundown. I've stayed at Courtyards nicer than this. The room itself is spacious but the bathroom reminds me of being on a cruise ship. TINY. View is determined by what side of the building you're on. We had a spectacular view in the pee room (room 5906) or a crappy view (room 5914 - looking at the back of a building). Old TV has like no channels and you'll have to flip through to figure out what's on them - the guide won't tell you.
We were there for an event (stayed here last year too for the same event and it was just as bad) and I am SO relieved to hear they are NOT holding it at the Westin next year. At the event location; trash cans were overflowing, supplies were low or missing in the pubic bathrooms. No paper towels. No one keeping up with the onslaught of over 300 people using the bathrooms. Not to mention the homeless problem on the streets around the Westin. This hotel is a hard pass.

This place really needs a remodel. For $200-$300 a night we expected a nicer place. Our room is on the 61st floor and has a nice view of the city with ceiling to floor windows but everything else feels and looks old. The wallpaper in the bathroom (yes, there is wallpaper in the bathroom) is peeling and it has little red stains splattered on it. The shower tile looked to white above eye level but everything below that is now speckled with grey (not sure if it’s mold). The chair in the room is also tearing at one of the seams with a few stains. The mattress was ok to sleep on but when I pulled the cover to check for bedbugs (there were none), I see that the mattress isn’t encased in anything and it had a large stain on my corner….I didn’t look at the rest of it. It had a flat pad, presumably waterproof, on top which was covered by one thin flat sheet tucked under. Because there are six elevators located in the middle of the building, I’m sure every room, not just ours, can hear them all night long. Not even my White Noise app covered the elevator hums. The valet parking is $55 a night, just fyi. Also be aware that they don’t provide a mini fridge automatically. There is a mini-fridge-looking thing but it doesn’t keep anything cold. The note on it says they will bring a fridge up for a fee.
I nearly forgot to mention, the bathroom door is not standard. It’s probably 28” maybe. If you are on the large side, be prepared to go sideways in.
The best part of this hotel are the people and the location. The staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for events in the area; unfortunately for us, the Hampton Inn across the street was booked out. This was our first experience with a Westin and we have another reservation for one in Vancouver later this year, but we are canceling that one just in case it’s on a similar level as this one.

This hotel was built in the 1970’s and the upkeep is very good. Service in all areas is very friendly. The food on the breakfast buffet was quite good with a good selection of food. We accidentally left the Do Not Disturb sign on and asked for late afternoon towel service. Instead they cleaned the whole room. The beds were perfect. I would stay here again!

My wife and I just spent 5 SLEEPLESS nights at the Westin Peachtree Hotel due to constant elevator noise and associated high-pitched mechanical sounds. We were moved after the first night, but the second night was just as noisy. We thought that due to extreme fatigue, we would pass out on the third night or the fourth night or even the fifth night, but that did not happen. Ear plugs did not help. I slept 15 hours over 5 nights! Also, even though we requested daily housekeeping, nobody came to our room on day 3 or 4. The hotel’s location is fantastic, but if you need to have a quiet moment, in order to fall asleep, do NOT STAY at the Westin Peachtree Hotel!!!

Great location in downtown. Close to many shops, restaurants! Check in was great and fast. However had to pay for early check in. Staff was more interested on charging me for early check-in, I was never told where my room was located or the elevator to use. Room was nice and clean. Great downtown views. Upon checking out, was asked about my experiance and mentioned my check in experience. They apologized and the gentlemen asked if anything they could do. I said no but I just needed a copy of my folio. The man confirmed my email and said its on its way. I never got the folio email. I needed the folio for my expenses for work. Great location but the service was not great.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights. It was okay. The hotel itself looks very nice and the rooms are nice as well. The staff are very kind. The gym is phenomenal probably one of the best hotel gym I’ve seen. They have pelaton spin bikes. However there are many flaws with this hotel. They have NO designated smoking area and you’re just expected to go outside on the sidewalk on by the street which WAS very sketchy at night. No where to put your cigarettes so you have to just put them on the sidewalk or road. A hotel with 70 floors should be able to provide a smoking area where the cigarettes can be properly disposed. There’s a Starbucks on the property it was good when it was actually open, however noticed it was always closed hours before the advertised closing time. And they wouldn’t accept cash. Went to the “The Cafe” for breakfast and was told I could not order off the menu as they were only doing buffet, I decided to go for it. Upon receiving the bill the buffet cost $33 a person, and the buffet was not different then any other hotel buffet that offers it FREE. WAY too expensive for breakfast! Some minors flaws in the room such as the refrigerator did not work. As well as the curtains did not overlap so that they could be blackout. The ice machine on our floor was out of order. The icing on the cake was we had asked for a late check out which was approved by the front desk as we had a flight later in the evening, however our room key cards were deactivated way before hand and we were trapped. All in all the stay was okay but probably will not stay here and probably not recommend.

I had two rooms for 5 nights in July 2023. We are titanium elite Marriott members and stay exclusively at Marriottt properties worldwide, JW to Fairfield hotels. This is the worst hotel ever. Both rooms were not made up, nor did we receive clean towels for the first three night. I complained in person to front desk, who were not able to help. I chased down housekeeping to get clean towels on two occasions. Day four we met people in our room, who were changing out the tv. This took two hours, during which time we could not shower after touring the city in 100 degree weather. But we didn’t have clean towels, so it didn’t matter much. The second room was without tv for the last two days. The last night was the worst. We were wakened at 3 am by yelling from outside the door. Three employees were having an argument with a guest in the adjacent room. After 20 minutes I got dressed, opened the door, saw the employees yelling and told them it’s 3am and to shut up. This yelling lasted another 10 minutes. I went to the front desk at 6am, asking for the night manager, who happened to be at the desk. He was the one doing the yelling in the hallway. He refused to talk to me about the situation. Contacting corporate, was no help. Excuses were given that we should have been told at check in that rooms are not made up until 72 hours after check in. And no answer was given about the night manager’s behavior. This property sucks and it seems to cater to convention goers. The breakfast cafe offers only buffet service at $33 each. Scrambled eggs at the omelette station took 30 minutes. The next day we tried the lobby Starbucks, and waited one hour on line for a cup of coffee. I sent emails twice to the CEO and received lame responses from the customer liaison, that the staff will get more training. The only persons who were responsible were the car parking valets, but at $55 per night. Marriott should dump this property and be more responsive to loyal customers honest complaints. They finally comped us one night. Avoid this property at all costs.
