Great service from the front Desk Kenny. The breakfast staff was very inviting too everyone and the food was hot and fresh. The room I stayed in was clean and had a great view of the city downtown area. The bar staff at night was very pleasant as well. The Chef Jennifer was such a delight and prepared a great meal. Checked out in lightning speed and jumped in my Uber. Great stay! The entire staff from valet to housekeeping deserve recognition. Management has left a good footprint for other hotels to follow.

We were in town on a leisure trip for ~ 1 1/2 days. We knew we wanted to stay in Midtown so that we were accessible to the many amenities there, as well as to downtown sites like Centennial Park. We enjoy walking, and this hotel was a perfect location for most of our sightseeing activities.
One suggestion: The hotel is located just adjacent to the interstate. If you are a light sleeper, you might request an inner room, not one that looks out onto the highway. That being said, we really were not bothered at all by highway noise, and enjoyed our view of the Georgia Tech campus and south to downtown from our room.
Another note of caution: the breakfast buffet, for which you are charged $10, is not worth it! In our 2 weeks of traveling, we had COMPLIMENTARY breakfast buffets in other hotels that were WAY more extensive and appetizing than this one was. There are plenty of places within walking distance where you can get a decent breakfast for not much more than the $10 they charge!

We were attending a 3 day event at Georgia Tech and found this hotel very disappointing when compared to the Hampton Inn nearby. The security of the hotel, I am sure is necessary, but is very restrictive. You can only come in through the Valet entrance at the parking garage. No doors are opened to the street. The service desk was very non or slow service. Sometimes 3 or 4 staff would be there with only one serving guests. The exception was Kabril who was very responsive. The valet staff worked quickly and very responsive. No problems with housekeeping who brought the towels we needed with no room cleaning due to Covid. The $45 parking fee was higher than quoted and $25 more than the Hampton. The breakfast was very bad. Waffles were available on one waffle maker with six people in line, a 20 minute wait…the tasty eggs were pre packaged and far less than tasty. Every thing else was prepackaged. The Hampton served hot eggs, sausage etc. We have stayed at about five Hilton Gardens and very pleased. This one has a better option just a mile away.

The only way this hotel could get the rating is does is because they are being padded by the hotel.

Hotel is tired, dirty and service is terrible. For $240 a night there should be lights in your room that you can see things with, a TV that works, no mold in the bathroom. card access that works, elevators that you can ride without worrying if they are going to stop between floors.

And do not forget the privaledge of parking your car for $45 a night, no self parking available.

The pantry in the lobby stocked only sweetened soda, chips and ice cream.

"Continental" breakfast was prison fare, no milk for the coffee, only Coffee Mate in a pump bottle.

Bed was like sleeping on a plywood board, and you got real entertainment listening to all the truck compression braking and rice rocket exhaust systems roaring down the I-85, incase you cannot sleep at night.

The only way you can give this place more than one star is if your last residence was sleeping under an overpass. Hilton should be ashamed to allow their name to remain on this building.

While doing extensive traveling usually stay at Hilton properties, never again. Booked for four days to attend my daughters graduation. Room rate was quoted at 130.96 per evening for four nights. Checked out using online as we were headed to the airport. When I got my receipt I found they had charged me for two nights at a higher rate of 156.16. With extra taxes for two nights that's an additional 58.30. In addition to that I found they had charged me for four days of valet parking at 36.00 per day although I did not have a car while I stayed there. So there is another 144.00 of extra charges. While at the Hotel trying to use the whirlpool tub, for which I paid extra, upon filling and turning on the jets it blew black junk all into the tub. Contacted the desk and the service guy thought it was a problem with the water supply. Told him it was mildew/mold in the tub circuit and needed to be disinfected. Ran out of time that day to address the issue as we had somewhere to go. Never came back to address the issue. Upon arrival home contacted corporate Hilton Honors and relayed my complaints. They were supposed to contact the Hotel and correct, never did … so I called the Hotel myself, got parking charges refunded, however they said too late to do anything about the rate. Well never again will I set foot in a Hilton Property if this is how you treat a longtime guest.

The lighting in the room was poor and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. They start putting away breakfast 5-10 minutes before it’s supposed to be over, even while guests are still present and trying to eat. Housekeeping kept knocking at our door asking if we were checking out and our reservation was clearly for five days. We were not made aware that the hotel had changed to valet parking only and was forced to pay $40 a night and that was just absurd!!! We also requested a late check out due to our flight leaving later in the afternoon and was advised that we could only stay until 1 PM otherwise we would be charged a $75 fee for late check out!!!! I’m a Hilton Rewards member and was traveling on business and was very disappointed. I will not stay at this hotel again in the future.

We were in town for a long weekend sports event. The beds and general room was fine, but the service here is not. Our door would not properly close or lock and the manager seemed annoyed to have it fixed or move us. The room has no safe. The parking is only valet and costs $39 a day. We were not allowed to go access our car in between; the attendant retrieved our car for us to get an item out of it. The restaurant was closed very early when the hours state it is open until 10. We wanted to go to the bar two nights and it was closed before 7:00 when the signs clearly state it is open until 11:00. There was no explanation for the early closure and there were several other guests that were also trying to go in. In the morning the coffee was cold, the decaf was empty and the creamers were empty; there was just half and half left. The hotel has potential to be nice, but so many small issues made it subpar. We will not stay here again.

Unfortunate and rather disappointing experience at this Hilton Garden Inn location. Had originally plan to stay for three nights. However, I decided to shorten the trip to two as I was quite uncomfortable and can’t say I felt welcome. My issue with Hilton properties is their new housekeeping policy which cuts housekeeping service to every other day. Daily housekeeping is the sole factor I stay at a hotel vs an airbnb. To make matters worse, I found the attitude of front desk staff to be hostile and condescending. Although the price of the room was fair, their security deposit is $100 per night (exorbitant) and valet parking is $50/day which is unfortunately unavoidable as they don’t offer self parking. No breakfast and when I attempted to place a dinner order, half of the menu wasn’t available. Each and every request such as asking to break a $20 bill for valet / housekeeping gratuities were all denied. By the second day, I had become accustomed to being “sorry, we cannot do….”.
Exterior of the building is looking rundown;
lights burned out, and the location isn’t very accessible with no Starbucks, laundromat or drug store within walking distance proximity.
This marked my last visit to a Hilton property, at least for a very long time anyways. Sad that such a reputable brand is being mismanaged.

It's regrettable to read about your recent experience. A comfortable and welcoming environment is what we usually strive for, so we're sorry you felt different. Concerning housekeeping, we've adjusted policies in line with the current trends and we're working to refine these further for guest convenience. It's distressing to hear that our team members seemed unaccommodating and we'll certainly remind them of the importance of a friendly, welcoming approach. On another note, our security deposit and valet parking charges reflect the market rates in the city, and we're always available to discuss these aspects beforehand. Your culinary experience is far from typical and we apologize for the inconvenience. Team will verify the issue you experienced placing dinner orders. We're deeply sorry that you had difficulties with access to nearby amenities and we suggest seeking assistance from our front desk for the best local recommendations next time. We're saddened to hear of your decision to reconsider future stays with us but do hope you’ll give us another opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Less than I had hoped for. I stay at Hilton properties exclusively because they are so dependable and I feel comfortable and I believe the hotel goes the extra mile to insure I have a great experience. When I have stayed here in the past, this Hilton Garden Inn was that way. Now I can just say it is “tired”. Maybe it’s tired from a year of Covid, I don’t know. Maintenance around the building is tired. Potted plants outside closed restaurant are dead from neglect. The common areas show bumps and bruises and scrapes that at many Hilton properties are maintained crisply. Room keys fail. The staff tried to put on a “brave face”, but coffee often empty, out of cups, “pack and go” breakfast derelict. This stay wasn’t completely “off” as our room was pleasant and we slept well, but had to request things we usually wouldn’t. If I was at a property other than a Hilton, I would shrug my shoulders and say, “This is why I stay at Hilton properties.” But as this is a Hilton property, I am disappointed. Maybe it’s the result of Covid and understaffing, but it’s as if the management of the hotel is trying to just get buy as cheaply as they can. Thanks

We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Midtown Atlanta. Not only was the room really dated and grungy, but the door to the room did not lock properly. We had to yank on the handle from outside the room to ensure it was latched. In addition, the housekeeping did not do our room despite our requests after I spilt coffee on the bed by accident. when they finally did the room they did not leave any towels or soap. When we requested towels we had to wait more than 1 hour and 45 minutes before the front desk sent them in. Unfortunately we had to shower without towels as we had a flight to catch. In addition the bottle of mouth wash had been previously used.... which is kind of gross. During our stay, the elevator was down for about 90 minutes and as I am handicapped and our room was on the 10th floor, we were effectively locked out of our room.

is the pool open and if so is it heated?
Answer from Jason S
Thank you so much for your interest in our hotel. Yes, the pool is open and it is heated. But please be aware that the pool is quite large and therefore not necessarily "hot". We have the heat set to be in the 70s, but the range varies based on the outside temp, the number of people using the pool, and the volume of rain. Let me know if there are any other questions you might have.
KYTRAVELFUN asked a question Aug 2017
Clay City, Kentucky51 contributions8 helpful votes
How far are you from the Center for Puppetry Arts and the Aquarium? Also are taxis plentiful?
Answer from Jason S
Thank you so much for reaching out about our hotel, KYTRAVELFUN. There are two walking routes to the Center for Puppetry Arts. One is .8 miles and one is 1.1 miles. There is construction throughout the Midtown area as it is a growing area, so that might impact your trip's sidewalk access, but the construction is occurring all over the area, so that will be the case from just about every hotel. My team and I walked to a restaurant for a team luncheon last week and the walk took about 15 minutes and was just short of the Center. It was a mixed group of ages, footwear, and fitness levels and everyone seemed to make the walk with no issues. Taxis can be called from our valet area in the garage. With notice, a taxi should be ready nearly when you are prepared to leave. Uber can also be picked up outside the garage, at our Hilton Garden Inn entry door, to expedite your departure. I hope this information is informative, please reach out if you need any additional information. Safe travels, and we hope to see you soon.
