The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown is a very nice hotel, located in a great area, within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. The Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, World of Coca-Cola, College Football Hall of Fame, and Centennial Park are all in walking distance, and there are restaurants with all different types of food options, including pizza, burgers, chicken, Asian cuisine, Mexican, and more.
The hotel is very clean and inviting. Our room on the 6th floor had a great view of the park and the buildings of the downtown area. Beds were comfortable and everything we needed was in the room. The TV was a little funky...it was a sort of Smart TV customized for Hilton. Sometimes it didn't quite work right, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway.
We chose this hotel over others specifically because of the pool and hot tub. The pool area is on the 7th floor and has great views of the downtown area. The outdoor pool is quite large, and the indoor pool is okay, probably about half the size of the outdoor one. The hot tub was a great place to relax in the evenings. There was one small problem though. All the signs around the pool area said that it closed at 11 PM. Two nights in a row, we were in the hot tub around 10:20 or 10:30 and a security person came to us and said the pool area is about to close. We said the sign says 11 and he said "well, it's about that time." Yes, in 40 minutes it is, but not now. The 2nd night he came around again at 10:30 and said pool's closing. Again, we said the sign says 11 pm. He said "yeah, the pool closes at 11, but we need to do maintenance." If the pool closes at 11, then you should not be making people get out until 11, or 10:55 at the earliest, certainly not at 10:20. Maintenance should be done after 11, when the pool and hot tub are closed. We did not appreciate this at all. If you aren't going to stick to your posted hours, then why bother to post them at all? I actually think the employees just wanted to get us out so they could close up the pool and maybe go home early.
The pool/hot tub issue aside, I still liked this hotel. The fitness center is pretty nice,(it's supposed to be open 24 hours, but who knows for sure?). The lobby, elevators, and hallways are kept clean and inviting. There is a Mexican restaurant with a bar on the ground floor (Dos Bocas) and an attached parking deck ($40 a night to park) with valet parking for an extra fee (we didn't use it.) All of the staff we encountered were nice and professional (even the guy at the pool...even though he shouldn't have been closing it early. He wasn't rude about it at least.) Overall, it was a good stay and I would definitely go back next time I'm in Atlanta...as long as they start keeping the pool area open until the posted closing time!

Located downtown on edge of Centennial Park and arenas. Easy walk. The indoor and outdoor pool with deck was very nice. Self parking was a little confusing to find, but it’s located to rear of building. Several dining options from quick service to fine dining.

Two couples, one with a child, were in Atlanta for a concert at State Farm Arena and looked for a hotel nearby. Hilton Garden Inn checked off all the boxes for us for the great location, parking, and positive reviews. We reserved two double queen rooms. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful including answering some pre stay questions we had. We appreciated the free bottles of water offered to us as a Hilton Honors member. The hotel was in a great location and we parked in their garage which was a little confusing and expensive at $40/day self park or $50 for valet, but typical for downtown in a big city. But we were able to walk everywhere we went so it was worth it. To park yourself, pull into the parking lot, take a ticket and keep going up past the reserved for valet spots and take the elevator down after parking. The garage is high enough for pickups. I like that you could check in with your phone on the mobile app, get a digital key and get a message when your room was ready. You even have the option of picking your room. We were there just a little early and did have to check in at the desk to add parking, gave them our parking ticket and they added it on, and then was able to go ahead to our room. You need your key to go up the elevators, scan before pressing your floor button, and to access other areas of the hotel. Another note, when you leave the parking garage, make sure you have a room key with you to scan it at the exit which will lift the gate for you and then drop the key card in the box provided. The hotel and rooms were clean, fresh and neat, and the beds were quite comfortable. It was quiet in our room and we got a good night's sleep. We had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee bar as well as a room safe. The wifi was excellent there was a large screen TV with HBO options. The bathroom was nice and roomy, bathtub/shower combo, water temp and pressure was great. One thing I will mention is that the bathtub is a little slippery when first getting in, so watch your step. There is a grab bar, but I would recommend one at each end of the tub for easy entry and exit. We did not take advantage of the nice pool area and large work out room, just being there for one night, or the restaurant, deciding instead to try a few of the restaurants in the area. We highly recommend The Atlanta Breakfast Club for a wonderful breakfast. You won't go away hungry and you'll get great service! The hotel is located so conveniently, walking distance, to many places of interest and directly by the Georgia Aquarium. Wish we would have had time to stay longer and visit it, too. Another time. We felt safe and welcome during our stay and would definitely stay again!

We throughly enjoyed our stay; our host Dormecia at the Reception Desk were awesome. Dormecia was very professional and pleasant. Set us up with a room on the top floor with a wonderful view of the city. Room was clean with plenty of towels, coffee and other amenities. Dormecia explained and recommended parking options, the breakfast options and other tourist type information to help us navigate in the city. The hotel location is awesome - easily within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, and the Park. One can literally park your car and spend the entire time walking to and from all the major sights. If you go to the various travel web sites and with Hilton Honors or the hotel site - very easy to come up with an affordable rate. We booked through Hilton Honors and the price was easily $75 less than the surrounding hotels. For a wonderful stay, great rate and location, cleanliness and the hospitality of the Hilton Team - highly recommend a stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Atlanta.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta in order to visit the Georgia Aquarium and Coca Cola World. The location is absolutely perfect, just a couple minutes' walk to both attractions.
We found the hotel to be very clean, and the size of our room was good. The beds were comfortable, and the linens and pillows were good quality. The room had a very large bathtub, which was an unusual find in many hotels and a pleasant surprise. It also had the standard mini fridge and microwave; always helpful when traveling.
The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, at check in and when requesting items from guest services. Due to Covid, they are only doing cleaning when requested, but you can call guest services any time you need a refill of room items, which was fine.
Our only complaint with our stay is that when booking this property, one reason we chose it is that it said roll away beds were available. Traveling with my adult son and daughter, they do not want to share beds with their sibling or Mom, so this was important. We even called Hilton a few days before arriving to confirm that they had received our request for a roll away.
When we got to our room, we were so pleased to see that there was a nice big empty space where the rollaway would fit, but when we called the front desk about the bed, they told us that they could not issue roll away to rooms with two beds "because of fire code."
Thankfully, we'd had the foresight to put an air mattress in the trunk of the car, so we used that, but it's so frustrating because no one wants to spend their vacation sleeping on an air mattress.
One other item they could do better is that the coffee in the lobby in the morning was a nice touch, but both dispensers were "regular;" there was no decaf, and the coffee was VERY strong. We actually ended up walking a couple minutes up the street to the Starbucks (it's in the lobby of the Embassy Suites.) We did not try the breakfast offered, as we hated to pay $13+ per person for hotel breakfast.
Oh, and a weird thing we encountered is that the thermostat in the room could not be turned down below 65. It was a little warm in the room for sleeping.
This hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor pool, plus a hot tub in the outdoor area. It was one of the few we saw downtown offering an indoor pool, so that's likely a plus for anyone travelling with kids and needing to tire them out with a swim before bed.
The on-site restaurant, Dos Bocas, was very good when we had dinner there one night.

Clean large rooms, little dated but very comfortable and great choice of pillows and all amenities required, felt safe as a woman travelling on her own as key cards needed to access lifts and extra locks on door. Small Swimming pool and gym. Breakfast reasonably priced for a hotel and catered for breakfast to take to your room, and cheap with coffee, and friendly breakfast staff. Late check in staff was friendly and very informative. Had a problem with fridge after a couple of days and immediately sorted when reported to reception. I don’t like heating in a room, to turn off was a little hit and miss. Used the bar in the Mexican attached to hotel and again felt comfortable on my own. Will definitely use again!

This is probably the oldest hotel in downtown Atlanta. And for sure the oldest Hilton I've ever been in the world. Everything needs a lot of maintenance and urgently a change for new beds, new pillows, new restaurant furniture, new menu, etc Doesn't match the Hilton standard at all. The pictures advertising the hotel are not recent and definitely do not resemble the actual appearance of this hotel. Unfriendly staff at the Dos Bocas bar and restaurant, they are not organized at all, all busy in their own personal chat and they just ignore the customers. They seem totally unhappy working there. Very poor quality of drinks and food at quite expensive prices. The only positive point about this place is the perfect location at walking distance from the main attractions of Downtown Atlanta

I stayed for a couple of very cold nights during February (night of the Bruce Springsteen concert).
The reception area is functionally welcoming and staff kinda curious but disinterested.
The room was fine.
The breakfast room and food should be banned - a breakfast room that’s straight out of one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, very dated. The food just terrible.
The best part was that there is a Johnny Rockets a couple of doors away

Stayed two nights at this property on a business trip. The location is handy to the convention center and tourist venues. It is also a short drive in from Hartsfield. The room was of average size and although it showed its age was generally clean. Stayed on a higher floor and was not bothered by traffic on the street below. Window AC unit was quite loud though. Services were limited though. Despite the end of the pandemic, this hotel still limits housekeeping. There is no reason to do so especially when considering the room rate. This was also the first time I have ever seen bulk shampoo and soap dispensers at a Hilton Garden Inn. The large, communal pump soap and shampoo is something you generally only see in the cheaper Hilton properties like Tru and Home2. Again, I would expect better given the price. The tourist venues draw homeless people to the area. Since the summer travel season is over, the homeless had fewer people to beg from and were drawn to those of us in the area. All in all, a good enough stay but not the caliber I expect for the brand

Nothing fancy... The rooms are in need of a long overdue renovation. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were equally uncomfortable. There is no room service. Sitting in the onsite Tex Mex restaurant wasn't really what you want after a long day. The room was either freezing cold or extremely hot. The heating unit in the room was unable to regulate the temperature consistently. The lobby was extremely loud. Self-parking was an additional $41 a day. I shall not be returning.
