The Whitley is amazing and I stay there on all my trips to Atlanta. The concierge lounge is exceptional and the ladies that work in there are so wonderful and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. My only issue is that every time I choose Green Choice (housekeeping every third day) I never get my room serviced until I specifically ask. This last time the housekeeper was literally in the room next to mine when I left for dinner (I had spoken directly to her about having my room serviced) and when I got back from dinner it was still not done and it was too late to ask for it to be done. I will continue to stay at The Whitley and hope they can work this one issue out.

Nice property, clean rooms, great amenities, and friendly associates sum up my experiences at The Whitley. I am a business traveler and I've been in the Atlanta area for five months now. Though my office is located Downtown with multiple hotels nearby, I often choose to commute from The Whitley in Buckhead because I can be sure to get a good night's rest. The rooms are clean and the mattresses are not worn. As a Titanium Elite member whom spends most of the year of the road, I do not hesitate to request a different room due to cleanliness or comfort shortcomings, and at The Whitley I've never had to. The Executive Lounge food and service is stellar. Titanium Members are granted access free of charge whereas at the Ritz Lounge we are not. Front desk associates Angie, Octavia, and Brandon are always pleasant, and very rarely are they unable to upgrade me to a Suite. I'll continue to stay at The Whitley when I can. Consistency and politeness go a long way and this hotel staff seems to get it.

We really loved our stay here. We booked initially for 3 nights before driving to Savannah and then stayed for 1 night on our return to Atlanta.

Staff were great - the front of house staff are helpful, the valet guys are super friendly and the breakfast staff fab too.

The room was big enough with a great bed. TV, wardrobe, seating area, fridge. We got a bottle of water each day. Bathroom has shampoo conditioner and body wash. Hairdryer took ages to dry my hair but they do have one! First time we had a bath, second time a big shower.

On the weekend they have an alcoholic beverage at reception and a snack.

Breakfast was good. Weekends they have a buffet which has everything you could thing of. Of note is their cheese and meat platter - amazing! Weekdays they have a menu. One day we had the chicken and waffles and it was incredible!!! We also had an evening meal here one day which was lovely big portions and good food - the crab soup was heavenly!
Nice cocktails in the bar in the evening.

They have a gym and a pool. The hot tub was not working which was a shame. They’ve also got some sun loungers outside which was nice.

You can use valet parking which means you have in and out privileges and can come and go as you please. If you self park you can’t leave (or you can but it would mean you’d have to pay each time).

We had a great stay here and would return again if ever in Atlanta.

All 5 star hotels are equal, right? Absolutely wrong! Unbelievable things happened right after we arrived at Whitley, so call "a Luxury Collection Hotel". First, if you want to park your car by yourself, the parking garage you would go belongs to another entity. At check in, there was just one person served on front desk, who did not provide any information that we encountered later. After we got into the room, we found the room was small and has no bath tub. We went down to front desk and were told that that room was for handicap, which was mistakenly given to us! The newly assigned room was small too. The bathroom is tiny, with a tub that can't be found in any 5 star hotel. We did not see a refrigerator and called, the answer was it must be requested. So we requested and a heavily punished refrigerator came and dropped on the floor. We were surprised not to see a coffee maker and called, and was told it must be requested. When the coffee maker came, with a lengthy instruction, it did not work. Housekeeping sent a person to help but could not make it work. No one cared! The hotel serves coffee, but only in the morning, until 10:00 AM. There were two bottles of cheap water on the counter with fine print explaining it is only free for members. All these can be viewed in the photos. The worst thing happened was the second day after we returned in the evening. Ques what? The room was not cleaned! No one bothered to clean our room in a so called 5 star hotel associated with Marriott. As a member, I know Marriott would not let this happen. The hotel did apologized and credited a small amount of $, but they forgot to put back into my account until we called again. With this kind of facility, serves, and carelessness, it does not belong to Marriott brand, We then stayed in Intercontinental a short distance away, which is a true 5 star hotel.

We stayed at the Whitley last weekend and, while the Buckhead location is great, there seem to be very few team members working. Specifically, there was only one valet on Friday night when cars were coming and going quickly. He was doing his best, but had no assistance. The front desk had one person behind the counter, while guests waited in line. There was no concierge, and I saw no one from housekeeping the entire time we were there. In fact, the table outside the elevator on the 11th floor had drink marks, and smudges, and clearly had not even been wiped down. People came and went without masks. We would not return out of concern.

Let me start by saying I understand we're in the middle of a global pandemic. However, while the staff are friendly we were told at check in that the pool, spa and the restaurant are closed and room service is not available due to Covid. No mention of this anywhere on the Marriott website. Breakfast ($60 for 2) was served in brown boxes with no wait staff. The purchased package included breakfast, but we weren't told the restaurant would be closed. Bed had to be changed when we got there because of stains. Mini bar is empty except for someone else's food that was left here. No housekeeping and we still haven't been told that was being eliminated. No lotion or conditioner in bathroom, had to ask at the front desk. Plastic cups instead of glass in the rooms. No coffee or bottled water in the room, completely stripped of any amenities. Free coffee in the lobby is gone and now it costs $10 for 2 cups. Called the front desk repeatedly about very loud neighbors at night with no answer. Had to go to the front desk and ask to be moved.
The room itself is fine and the location is good, however, for a hotel that touts itself as a luxury destination, it is not. Very disappointed with the hotel.

Really disappointed in our stay. We booked the hotel for their indoor pool over other hotels to find out pool is being renovated. That should have been on the website so we don’t buy for false advertising. When we arrived at our room large brown food particles is in our doorway. Disgusting. I will not stay here again. Other remnants of guests found in room as well. I expect a higher level of service.

Overall had a good experience, especially with staff that I encountered in the halls and in the restaurant. One server in the Trade Root restaurant in particular, Azeb, was gracious and friendly to me as a diner eating alone.
However, I had a similar experience as another reviewer with poor housekeeping. I had agreed at the outset to a “green”plan with no service on the first 2 nights of a 4-night stay, but in reality I had no service until after 6:00 PM of my last night there; no trash, bedmaking, etc. I did mention this at checkout and was given a discount, but I would rather have had the service! Also, I was supposed to be in a king room but was put in a double queen room with a view of the door of the building next door. I wasn’t expecting a view, but that was a bit disappointing.
Otherwise, however, the quality of the staff and the food in the restaurant was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable.

When we arrived the valet and bell staff was very prompt and attentive. Check in was okay not really anything to brag about. Room service was good but pricey, the staff for room service were polite and attentive. The rooms are clean, and the water is hot, Mow that is all the good i can say about this property, it took me 20 minutes and 4 phones calls to reach someone for room service I actually had to call from my cell to get someone. I had to go to the front desk to reach some in housekeeping to get the pillows i requested prior to check in. We were also the victim of the breakfast scam. We attempted to go to breakfast which was to be included with our rate. We presented the vouchers the front desk gave us, and the hostess said "I don't know what this is. After she read it she indicated that this is only for continental breakfast. Since she was being rude I then went to the front desk for clarity and a staff member ask me to show her the card and asked where does it say continental. She then wrote on the voucher buffet for two. I noticed that other reviews state they had the same issue with being charged for breakfast when it has already been paid for. Once we finally ate the food was cold and the coffee was burnt tasting. The cantaloupe was not ripe. I had to go to the front desk to get ice. There was nothing I could find that would tell me were ice was looked on the property. Thats how uninformative the front desk staff was upon check-in. I received more information from the bell men, I had to go to the front desk to request a refrigerator to my room (again not able to reach anyone via phone), There are no coffee makers in the room so you have to request hot water. Thats great if you can reach someone. Again i have to reiterate i was only able to contact some via phone once during my two day stay. I had to Walk down to the front desk to get anything done. Definitely not the Luxury that is advertised. The service and quality doesn't match the rates we paid nor the Luxury Collection as advertised, As a Marriot member is was very disappointed.

I have known this hotel ever since it was the Ritz back in the early 2000's. It is in a great location and the decor has been freshened up since it became the Whitley. I read the negative reviews but I do not think that most criticisms would apply if they were fully staffed and able to offer their normal services. No fitness center, lack of amenities like coffee makers in the rooms, weird to go breakfast service etc make for a less than five star stay, but in fairness a quiet comfortable well appointed room for around $200 in Buckhead is great value if you know what to expect. We will return and hopefully they will be able to expand their service levels in due course. I did think that removing the coffee makers was over the top cautious, when even the Hampton Inn I stayed at had them in room.
