We stayed here as we were doing the Hanging Bridges walk. The man on reception was lovely. I made the fatal mistake of pretending I understood more Spanish than I did so I want back and asked him to go through things again which he did in Spanglish. We were the only guests and it was extremely quiet. The room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. There was free parking right at the front door. Lovely views of the mountains and village. If you decide to go to Monachil on Sundays though beware that most of the bars and restaurants were closed in the evening. Real bargain price for a double room and breakfast of under 50 euros.

We visited in March, the hotel was almost empty. It was very quiet. Free parking next to the front door. One of the receptionist spoke fair English and he was very friendly. The room was nice, however a bit cold but we used the air conditioner for heating. The breakfast was wonderful, rich, all you can eat. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. I have nothing to complaint about.

We arrived late (1am) due to a real cock-up with British Airways in London rather than the 7.30pm as planned; but the owner had waited up to book us in. He and his wife did everything to make our stay comfortable. It was a simple double room, exceptionally clean and tidy with a great en-suite(the bed was a little hard). The t.v had a range of channels and it had a great view of the mountain and the stream which runs through the village. For an extra 5 Euros we had a buffet breakfast which was excellent since we needed it every day as we up quite late at the cafés and local restaurants.
As a local 2* establishment I WOULD RECOMMEND it to everyone, as the atmosphere was happy, clean and well managed. We left ourselves out at 5am to get our flight, fantastic hospitality. The swimming pool is well positioned for maximum sunlight which was excellent.
You can walk down to the bus stop and lying ONLY 1.50Euros you can travel to Granada in 20minutes.Buses 181 on a Sunday and 183 week days.
The tourist office is a wealth of information so do visit it.
The corner sweetshop on the second bridge excellent.
Walking the Sierra Nevada is a MUST! The walk up to the rope bridge is a little tough if like me you only swim once a week, but well worth the challenge.

Despite its two-star rating, this is a fantastic little hotel. Simple rooms with balconies and great views of the mountain village. We chose it because it was handy for Granada. Very friendly family-run business. Food in the restaurant was outstanding, and service was always helpful. My wife enjoyed the modest-sized pool. A definite 'must-stay'.

I loved everything about this hotel. I was here by chance as a neighbouring hotel was unable to fulfil a booking and I'm so glad I stayed here. My room was quaint, tastefully decorated and very clean. The views from my bedroom were lovely.(A mixture of Monachil and the mountains)The restaurant was excellent. Try anything on the BBQ. So reasonably priced too I had 10 large prawns for 8 euros. I had to try and speak Spanish though which was interesting as no one spoke English but you know that made it even better for me. The staff were friendly and welcoming and welcomed my poor attempts at their language.
Real Spain at its best
