Hotel El Fort has nice rooms, a nice rooftop terrace and a beautiful terrace underneath trees where you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast. The Green Suite is tastefully decorated, but has a very uncomfortable bed. Biggest 'problem' is that nothing is happening in Ullastret. No shops, no restaurants are open. So for lunch and dinner you'll have to drive to...

Stuffy rooms, outdated interior (in need of refurbishment), no restaurant outside weekends or holiday season (July / Aug), boring village anyway (no restaurants open in the evening, certainly not outside weekends or summer holidays). Staff is okay, nice; merely caretakers, amateurs, than professionals. Not a serious option for staying; better options in e.g. Peratallada (nicer anyhow).

We stopped over in El Forte for a nap before resuming our trip back to Switzerland, lovely restored fort with a great ambiance. The ingredients were all local and masterfully prepared, this place was a godsend after having had some pretty terrible food experiences throughout Spain. In stead of just stopping for a bit of sleep, we stayed several days....

This charming spot in the middle of Baix Empordà is a beauty itself but what made our trip amazing was this boutique hotel and its restaurant. The owner made a great effort by putting her heart not only in the development of the service but in every single detail of the decoration and the food. The staff is extremely discrete...

We stopped here for lunch during a biking tour through Catalonia for our honeymoon. This restaurant was included as a suggestion in our roadbook. The setting is romantic and beautiful, which we found very attractive. We talked to the manager/owner, liked the menu, but were a bit concerned with the time, as it was already after 4pm, and we still...

Have eaten here once and also stayed for a few nights. Excellent organic locally sourced food depending on the season. Can recommend this lovely restaurant with large terrace and also the scenic medieval village. Peaceful setting in the glorious Baix Emporda.

We dined here on the recommendation of our landlord and were somewhat disappointed. The restaurant was extremely quiet and so any atmosphere was lacking. It was too cool to sit on the terrace (which needs a little TLC) so we had drinks at the table. The service was overall good and our wish for both the starter and main course...

We stayed for 5 nights in 2 of the apartments which were of a good size with air con. The rooms had a nice feel to them but were under equipped to be fully self catering. However the good bar and restaurant downstairs and the other places in the village made up for it. We had the tasting menu in...

Just returned from my third visit to this restaurant and unfortunately it was not the best. Fanastic position in the middle of the old town and wonderful terrace with natural shade from a tree. In May the tree hadn't yet grown to cover the terrace but as the weather was not good we ate inside which doesn't give the same...

Just charming and excellent. We cycled in late and would have been stranded if the apartment hadn't been opened especially for us. Exquisite hospitality matched by excellent good cuisine. Martin and mussa? We're the perfect hosts
