Stayed in one of their basic rooms. It was a good size, on the 3rd floor. Three windows including the bathroom, very quiet overall although could hear neighbors some. Free wifi, even got it in the room (room 311) although we could not get it in the bar which is next to the lobby! Carpets in common areas a bit...

The Zafra Parador is an excellent choice for a stopover and quick sight-seeing. The rooms are well appointed and the food is good (though by no means exceptional). One annoyance is that the city tends to be rather noisy, even in winter time. Also, note that wifi may not be available in most rooms because of the thick stone walls!

We have just stopped here for one night going from central Extremadura to Andalucia. This parador is worth a visit. Very centrally located, easy access with a car. Beautiful room, facing the pool, two balconies, just a bit noisy if you prefer to open the windows than use the A/C. This parador has a lovely open-air patio (restaurant or bar),...

The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. There is a lovely courtyard with a bar and restaurant. The location is perfect with a three minute walk to the Plaza and shops. I liked everything about this hotel and I certainly would return if I am in this part of the world again. Very charming indeed.

Stayed one night on a 6 night tour of paradors. The courtyard is undoubtedly the centrepiece, both literally and as a focal point. My wife is disabled, and the hotel has been carefully adapted to give easy access without spoiling the atmosphere. We had a pre-dinner drink and an evening meal under the open sky of the the courtyard. The staff...

This is a beautiful hotel in an equally great setting. Everything about the hotel has a relaxed five star feel and the place oozes charm, history and sophistication. It is for relaxing and enjoying the old town of Zafra outside your door. Highly recommended for a minimum of two days. I have to go back with my wife next time......

We stayed in Zafra on our way south from Cáceres to Tarifa and were overjoyed to discovery the beauty of the central courtyard. Having not done sufficient research, I was expecting the hill top castle typical of Spain and therefore was disappointed when stumbling on the flat approach. The first impression is not one of history and romance, but of...

The parador in Zafra is a real gem of a hotel. It really is a 15th century palace with a simply stunning courtyard and wonderful architecture, yet fitted with all modern conveniences including, thank heavens, airconditioning and a swimming pool. We dined in the courtyard under the stars on excellent food and the buffet breakfast the next day was superb....

The Australian booking agent for Paradores was adamant that a 4-night stay in Zafra was too long, but we had a good feeling about the area and persisted with the reservation. As it turned out, the location was perfect for exploring the region -- a day exploring the roman ruins in Merida, a long drive towards Portugal seeing the Extremaduran...

We stayed here last week and on the whole enjoyed our 2 nights here. We ate here and the food was generally good, although my Viandas del Palacio was disappointing, especially the dessert, described as dried fruits with a special rice pudding, which turned out to be a flan which tasted like the packet version. The hen stew was delicious...
