We stayed in El Rodat Hotel for doing some culinary visits in the area (michelin star rated restaurants). The restaurant of the hotel, restaurant El Rodat, has one michelin star and was on the list: we reserved a table far in advance to our visit. To our surprise, the day of the dinner we found out that the restaurant was closed, We were not notified of this, which was very weird, as we were actually staying in the hotel... It got worse when the receptionist claimed that we had been notified for sure, by mail, which she would prove to us (at the edge of arrogance). Obviously the proving mail never came... The hotel, at the other hand was nice, clean and quite. Personnel was correct, but not very engaged. Everybody simply does his job... Breakfast was not convincing, but that is probably due to Covid-19 which turned the buffet into a service which the hotel is not used to deliver. It is quite pricy too, compared to the other hotels in the area. So total score for me is average...…
My wife and I stayed for two nights. We arrived late Sunday evening to find that no one was on reception. After a 15-20 minute wait the receptionist arrived, explaining that they had been helping another guest. I appreciate that late September is off- season but it gave an unfortunate initial impression. Having said that, our junior suite was nicely appointed and our stay was very good - relaxing and effortless. It was also a disappointment to be told that the Michelin star restaurant doesn’t open on a Monday, however, the specialty rice dishes in the alternative restaurant (known as the cafe) were excellent.
Lovely grand suite with large private terrace and brilliant spa, but I have found all the reception staff disinterested and unhelpful, despite this being my third visit. I am leaving early to go to a different hotel but they insist on charging me for the unused nights, even though I gave notice of my departure the evening before because I was not happy. I get no credit for being a returning customer and only smirking rudeness from reception. This isn't the first year that reception staff have not been all that helpful but I excused it because the hotel is pleasant. Never again.
we stayed at El Rodat for 3 days for a bit of rest and relaxation following a number of weeks of family guests staying with us. we searched for hotels offering Spa treatments and El Rodat looked by far the nicest available. Firstly it is only fair to point out the good parts of our stay. The room we had (junior suite) was very spacious with separate sleeping and rest areas and a very spacious bathroom. the bed was large and very comfortable with a 'pillow menu' to choose from and the bath/shower gave plenty of hot water and pressure. each suite also has a good size terrace (ours on the first floor had a good panoramic view) Staff in the restaurant were excellent, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and genuinely interested in a conversation.we also ate one evening in their Michelin star restaurant having the seafood taster menu, a review for which I will post separately the Spa was very relaxing and the treatments offered were excellent. there were however a number of points that I feel let the hotel down, and as this hotel is on the higher end of the regional pricing, I felt meant that our stay was not good value for money. we booked half board as advertised they have a specialty rice restaurant on site, however, the half board only allows a reduced menu and by the second lunch there was very little else to chose that appealed. Generally, we had an issue with CLEANLINESS. Our room on arrival (late afternoon) was dirty. Dental floss on the bathroom floor, a toenail in the bedroom and a piece of glass that I stepped on shortly after arrival. this and a number of dead bugs that had obviously been swept to the edges of rooms. we immediately informed reception who said this could not be sorted out until the following morning. after room cleaning the following morning, there were still the same bugs but simply swept somewhere else. our terrace was covered with pine needles and again not clean. the website images of the rooms were clearly taken some time ago as in general, the place is looking tired. A hotel of this standard and price, we would also expect tea/coffee making facilities, but these were not on offer. when we asked we did get a kettle but had to source our own tea & coffee. Outside the gardens and pool area were also disappointing. I appreciate the Mediterranean has a lot of insects, but clearly, there is no spraying policy as we were bitten alive in the gardens (our garden at home is sprayed monthly and we have no issues there) also, the pool terrace was not cleaned for the 3 days we were there. The pool itself, we avoided as it looked murky with clear signs of body fat and sun cream suspended in the water. to sum up, we had a very comfortable couple of nights sleep, and the treatments in the spa were very welcome, however, the price of the rooms, drinks prices, and condition of the hotel meant that we felt that this was very overpriced compared to local alternatives and not necessarily good value for money.…
The rooms w re Spanish style and spacious, bathroom and room were tip top clean with the necessary amenities. Terrace is somehow outdated and the pool is not popular but our 7yer old was a happy camper when after our mouse hunting she got the chance to jump into a very clean pool. Friendly service and spacious rooms, very correct pricing
