Ok, so the road in is a bit rickety and narrow if you're in a caravan, but it's not that bad (see photos) and there are a few passing bays. We stayed here for 4 nights. Ladies shower facilities were fine and plenty of hot water. The men's are apparently not as clean but that's down to the users. The washing up area always clean. The caravan hard standings surrounding us were very nice and our tent pitch at the near corner by the fields gate was perfectly quiet despite many walkers accessing the corner gate. You can walk into East Runton from this corner but do take note of the route you walk!! You can also walk into Cromer from there. There's a chippy (Will's plaice) in E Runton and a small shop. We didnt use them but I see there was a few pubs there and one had live music pool etc. This was our 4th C&C site and I'd say its fairly standard. Probably a tad busier than usual but for us, there was enough space.

We arrived on site on the wettest day in August, the staff were really helpful, we were not particularly happy about having to pitch on a muddy pitch but its the only way that the site can maintain the 6 metre distance between tents. We were a family group of 3 tents with one of us across the access area, we could not erect a gazebo in the area but were allowed to use it for sitting and playing which was ideal for us. The toilets were always very clean, just had one issue when both blocks were being cleaned at the same time although information said this would not happen. There was plenty of local information in the cabin, there were different catering vans visiting during the week which was welcome, the South African was delicious and not expensive. The site is walkable to West Runton and I would recommend the Corner House tea room and the Village Inn.
Will use this site again if we are in the area.

We stayed here for 9 nights in september .On arrival were met by a friendly smiling female with lovely red lipstick .(sorry didnt get her name). In fact she remained the only really friendly face the whole stay.We got taken to our hardstand pitch which we had a choice of 3 .We were assured the pitch we chose was the last to lose sun ,where in fact it was the first !!!!. The pitch was in a good position for us as we had a dog and were close to gate for walking dogs. The walks to beaches through the gates were lovely and the beaches were lovely and we spent many hours walking on them. The site is perfectly situated . I know road in is rough but not as bad as some are saying !!!!! . Toilet block was very busy at times and although we were in a caravan we had to use facilities as our hot water did not do two showers .It was annoying that it was shut for two hours i know they have to deep clean but opening up second block would of helped and some staff were extremely unhelpful at this time. I would love to come back next year but unfortunately as you cant choose and book a certain pitch i would not be happy to take the risk of being put in a unsuitable pitch for our needs

We had read reviews about the access road to the site, but we were not prepared for what we encountered! A long steep single track gravel road. If there had not been a sign for the park at the top of the road I would never have believed that we were suppose to take a caravan down that track! Once we reached the bottom however, we found a pretty little site situated in the heart of the forest.
On arrival we were shown to out pitch, the site was very full and fairly cramped but we were pleased with the location of our pitch right opposite the facilities block. We were informed by the site warden that one of the facilities blocks were closed and that every other toilet / shower was closed in the block that remained open. It turned out that there were only three toilets and three showers available for women and the same for the men for what must be a site with 100+ pitches. This meant they were in constant use and often a long line of people waiting particularly after everyone had returned from the beach! As a consequence of their constant use they were always dirty, full of mud and sand which is not really surprising as they had taken away the mops (and bins) so people were not able to leave the showers as they would have wanted to find them. If this was not bad enough, they shut the block for cleaning between 10am and 12.00 noon. Why 10.00am when the site was still busy with people, surely between 12 noon and 2pm would have been better for the campers! Rather than closing the women's and then the men's they shut both at the same time leaving the disabled facilities as the only toilet often resulting in long queue's 10 to 12 people deep at times.
This is the third site we have stayed at during Covid times and this was by far the worst example. While I fully understand the need for measures, this site seemed to put measures in place for the sake of them! It would have been so easy to do things slightly differently which would have made things much more convenient for customers.
There also seemed to be a lack of flexibility with the site. We know of a couple of families who asked during the time that we were there to stay an extra night and they were told it wasn't possible as there were people coming on their pitch, however their pitches remained free!
Although the issues with the facilities really let the site down, our boys loved their time there. They met some lovely friends and made some great memories!

This was our second visit to this site for a well deserved family holiday. The approach to the site is a narrow, steep single track lane, something we were aware of, this did not put us off as our previous visit to the site had been an enjoyable experience.
The wardens adhered to the clubs covid arrival procedures. This was not however carried out for hygiene and cleanliness. Only one toilet/shower block was open with restricted facilities despite the site being full. This meant any covid exposure risk was heightened. The shower block was closed for two hours every day for "cleaning" and notices present advising three further cleans were conducted;there was however little evidence of this. The showers and toilet floors were frequently dirty. There was no access to antibacterial spray or wipes to rectify this.
Having visited teversal club site a few weeks before where covid procedures are fully implemented and the toilets/showers regulay cleaned and immaculate you would not believe both sites are part of the same club!
Having walked through the caravan club site adjacent which is far superior, we felt embarrassed to be staying at west runton.
This site is located in a beautiful area and could be lovely, such a shame.

We haven’t visited this site for a few years now, and it seems that greed has got the better of it unfortunately. Every spare inch of green space is now a non electric pitch. You are so close to the pitch to the left, right, and in front that you can’t sit outside without being part of your neighbours conversation. Where ever you look feel like you’re staring at someone because there are pitches literally all around you. I felt so sorry for the people that were pitched up so close to the toilet block that they were actually touching the loo block perimeter fence, and in one case the tent guy ropes were over the steps down to the toilets, a dangerous trip hazard. There are loads of yapping dogs and so many of them off lead; they bound around the site bothering other campers; staff turned a blind eye to dogs running everywhere but we’re hot on telling toddlers off for playing with a football. Toilet block is so dark; needs the lightbulbs replacing. If this site turned down a few bookings and spaced the pitches out it would be a far better and nicer experience.

We have been to this site for about 10 years now and always thoroughly enjoy it. The site is always well run and maintained. Not so this year. I am well aware of restrictions etc. due to covid, but this was one step too far. The facilities were the major let down. Although there are two blocks, one was closed. This left for the ladies and gents each, 3 toilets and 3 showers. They were disgusting at all times. In the gents there was usually 1 if not 2 toilet cubicles out of action. This was not entirely the fault of the staff, but some of the disrespectful animals who used them. One of the toilet seats had been ripped off and the pan filled with paper. The 2 hour cleaning regime during the day left just the disabled toilet in use. I could go on. I did complain to the Camping and Caravan Club, but they really did not seem to bother. They had my money so move on and rake it in for the next unhappy customer. The site was packed which put more strain on the facilities than necessary. I was told that caravan and camper owners were not using their own facilities enough, why? This for me ruined
my holiday which we plan for every year. Until the site facilities are updated and covid passes, I will not be returning to this site. A real shame as this is our family favourite.

We arrive to see a sign saying pizza van here tonight order on arrival. The lady after me asked if they could stay for just one night with all without electric. We are fully booked was the answer. The toilet/showers -one block was closed. The other had every other cubicle in the other was closed. Several times a day they come and sprayed some chemicals in the air in the shower room toilet block. That was choking. A day or two after we got there they added another six camper vans behind our pitch so how come they couldn’t fit one and fit the lady on for just for one night? I suspect they’re just couldn’t be bothered. Why have the site full when you’ve reduced the facilities to a quarter of the normal capacity.
If you are not too mobile. It’s a mile walk to the shop or the beach might be a little more very little phone signal in there she climbed the hill. You need to be in the showers for six am not to have to queue. We will be returning.
The best thing about the place was the pizza van and the fish and chip van.

Dissapointed with site after four days of are windbreak being up was told it was in the wrong place 4inchs outside the boundary which we where not told about. When we said this the guy was adement we was told on arrival which we was only told to level with the white stick in the hedge for the front of are van. Three shower cubicles open for the women in one shower block should of been five shower cubicles woman cueing for showers every morning not very covid safe to me. Before we left it was getting very busy glad I was going 🏡 tents and vans very close together not sure but I thought they should be at least 6 metres between.

We were offered a choice of pitches and chose a lovely sunny one with a row of small campervans between us and the Ready Camp units. The following day the campervan behind us left and was replaced with a large caravan, large awning and five adults. It was far too crowded which made our stay quite unpleasant. It's a shame as the site is in a good location with plenty of good walks nearby. The access road isn't too bad if you drive carefully - we've had far worse!
