We enjoyed a really lovely stay at the Sandcliff. Booking in was quick and easy and we were greeted with a warm welcome. Keys were explained and we ventured off to find room 18 at the top of the building. Room 18 is a family room with a partial sea view. On arrival the room smelt fresh and clean and had a small sofa too. Although this room is yet to be refurbished the room was very nice and I am sure when the new furniture is in it will be even nicer. The bathroom is small but perfectly big enough with a large shower cubicle. Hot water was plentiful and shower gel/shampoo was provided. I loved the mirror has a great light for doing make up.

The bed linen was crisp white and smelt beautifully clean and the mattress and pillows were heavenly we all slept very very well indeed. The flat screen tv had the added benefit of on demand and the wifi worked well throughout our stay at no extra charge. Our tea tray was well stocked and there is a basket to help yourself to extra too if you needed it.

The guest house is literally across the road from the sea front and less than a 5 minute walk from crazy golf, fish and chips, amusements and shops. It is a easy downhill walk with good size pavements both sides for access.

We were able to park in a bay outside the hotel however street parking and even the pay and display is very reasonably priced at ÂŁ5 for overnight.

We spent the afternoon on the beach before venturing out for dinner. We would not recommend the hotel next door for food but there is lots of place around to eat in the evening.

Breakfast was served until 10am and as we booked direct this was included in our room rate.

Breakfast was simply excellent. We were offered tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as fruit juice. Toast was beautiful thick sliced bread and there was proper butter and a selection of jams on the table.

The breakfast menu is fantastic with fruit salad, porridge, granola and also full English along with healthy options. Our children had fruit salad and myself and husband has full English. I had a poached egg with mine which was perfect. The breakfasts were served on hot plates which was also a nice touch. Absolutely no complaints from us.

Checkout was easy with a key box and is a reasonable 10am deadline.

We would recommend staying here if you are looking for a traditional seaside stay that is in a prime location.

Our first visit this year due to the virus. We felt very safe everywhere was very clean well thought out safety precautions. Although disapointed not to be able to use the breakfast room breakfast served in the room was a good substitute. Fran and staff are doing a good job. Look forward to our next visit.

I stayed here with my husband for two nights. We wanted a last minute, low cost seaside break and expected 'no frills' accommodation. We chose not to have breakfast as there are lots of places in Cromer that provide a range of breakfasts. The room was very clean; it was clear that the carpet had been hoovered right up to the edge and the bed linen was fresh and clean. The pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was very clean although not very big. Everything was fairly basic. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. There weren't any toiletries apart from a small bar of soap but the shower worked well and there was always plenty of very hot water. Towels were provided. They were clean and fairly new.
There was an expectation that guests would wear face masks while in the public parts of the hotel and there was a one way system in operation.
The location was very handy for the town and beach and our room was quiet.
Altogether, I was very satisfied and felt safe.

I stayed here for a couple of days with my partner and baby daughter. At only £80 a night booked with short notice we didn’t expect too much, yet pleasantly surprised.

The room was very spacious and very clean, the beds were very comfy (don’t understand some reviews saying there not!). Kettle, coffee, tea, tv, hairdryer, iron, all provided. Vending machine downstairs with snacks in. During covid there is a one way system in place.
I can’t comment on the breakfast because we didn’t have it.
There really is minimal parking at the hotel, maybe like 6 parking spaces?? But sides streets are free to park down.

The location is great, right opposite the miniature golf and straight past that you can get down to the beach. A 5 min walk takes you to Morrison’s, and 10 min walk to the smaller shops and takeaways.
We always knew we weren’t going to be spending all day in the hotel room so wasn’t looking for luxury, just somewhere clean and comfy. If you are looking for a luxurious stay, this probably isn’t for you.

If I was to be picky, the WiFi wasn’t very good and I ended up just using data and the sink was too small (had to use a glass to fill up the kettle). But all in all we were happy with our stay.

I took the family to Cromer for a few days and stayed in the Sandcliff Guest House.
From the exterior the building does look a bit run down and dated but alot of the building in Cromer do, but that should not turn you away from staying at this guest house.
The staff were all very friendly, the room we stayed in was large, spotless and very warm.

For the price we paid to stay in March was a reasonable price for 2 adults and a toddler.
Breakfast was included in the price with Strong free WiFi connection. We did have to pay extra for a travel cot for our son ( about ÂŁ7 per night).

The building has about 4 free parking out front but there is also street parking available if you can find a spot as they fill up quickly.

If you are traveling with a buggy bare in mind that there are steps to get up to the front and side doors of the building and steep steps to get up to the 1st floor.

I would also recommend a ground floor room if possible in order to avoid all the stairs.

Over all I enjoyed my stay at the Sandcliff Guest House and would gladly recommend this place.

We have just stayed at the sandcliff guest house and I don't normally bother writing reviews but couldn't live with myself if I didn't congratulate the team and management on a lovely experience. The room location and service were second to none. Our dog was welcome our room was immaculate and very well equipped with everything we could need breakfast and the service we received was second to none. I feel I should also mention that the location was fantastic right on the see front and just a 5 minute pleasant walk from the centre. I can honestly say that for the price it couldn't be beaten and I would happily pay considerably more for what we recieved. We'll done and keep it up we will definitely return if ever staying in Cromer again.

Great location overlooking the sea at Cromer. A warm welcome at reception and, for us, the bonus is that Sandcliff accept pets. The owner showed us the dog friendly area for breakfast which, again was a bonus. The room was a reasonable size (a twin) with ensuite. Whilst the shower was a good size the toilet/washbowl area was cramped. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the ensuite as there were some grape stalks and paper on the floor, presumably from previous occupants.
The paint on the ceiling was peeling and it just looked tired. Personally I found the bed very hard and whilst it all seemed clean there was a blob of what looked like washed & ironed chewing gum on the duvet.
The room seemed quiet (no noise from other rooms), just the odd creaking floorboard on landing.
Breakfast was served from 8.30-9.30 and it was ok (not keen on tinned tomatoes and tinned mushrooms).
It served a purpose of a convenient bed for the night but at ÂŁ73 plus ÂŁ7.95 for breakfast I cant describe it as good value.

A last minute family trip to re-visit our childhood holiday destination of Cromer. The room cost £141 for one night over the weekend. The hotels first impression is good, it’s a decadent Victorian Building sitting high on the Western cliff of Cromer. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the centre and offers off road parking. Met by a very friendly member of staff who checked us in. Our room was four bed (2 single and one double) in a spacious room with en-suite (new toilet, sink and walk in shower), the entire building looks like it’s been recently refurbished with new carpets and clean paint. Our “value” room was excellently proportioned with side sea views, very comfortable and everything in working order. We had a great sleep on decent beds in a very peaceful location. One observation (by my sister) “the Sauvignon Blanc is getting warm where’s the fridge?” I don’t think it’s a necessity as room fridges can be naff and noisy. Drink faster. Really happy with our stay at the Sandcliff. GREAT value for money, clean and functional. Thanks.

Have stayed at Sandcliff before and our second visit was as good as first. This hotel is typical of Victorian seaside hotels but is managed very well with every effort being made to keep it up to date. Our room was recently refurbished and was a compact room with en suite with modern shower, toilet and washbasin , fan and illuminated modern mirror. Bear in mind that this hotel offers bed and breakfast only and these two services are provided with a professional, yet friendly, approach, delivered efficiently. A good comfortable stay with delicious breakfasts.
