Some guests think of us as a hotel, others as a B&B, and we see ourselves as a hybrid. But one thing we are passionate about is offering high-quality guest accommodation, great breakfasts, a resident’s only bar/lounge to relax in, a spacious sun trap garden to enjoy and free onsite car parking. We have 23 individually styled ensuite rooms however, we do not have a lift and most rooms are on the first floor. Check-in is from 3-10pm and everyone gets a unique door entry code to enter the building. We do not accept pets Breakfast is served weekdays 8-9.30am and 8-10am on weekends. By booking direct through the hotels own website, you will receive a complimentary breakfast throughout your stay. Complimentary Sherry and cake is available in the resident bar/lounge daily 3-5pm We have a large sun trapped south facing garden and a free onsite carpark for all overnight guests. All this and just a stones throw away from the beach.

Detailed Reviews
Fantastic three night stay in a beautiful suite. The location is perfect as the street is so quiet and peaceful but within very easy walking distance to the town. Plenty of parking spaces in the hotel car park too. Our hosts couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming, taking the time to give us plenty of information and great recommendations for places to visit and where to eat. The breakfasts were delicious, with speedy and attentive service throughout, despite the covid restrictions! We felt completely safe and reassured within the hotel with regard to the virus, all appropriate safety precautions had been taken and systems were in place. Lovely garden with plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine with a drink from the bar. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they all went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Would highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel. Many thanks to Martin and Shaun.

This is the first time we've managed to get back to Cromer for a few years and we were delighted to find Martin and Sean and their lovely hotel is as good, if not better, than it always was. We did the DBB deal which is a really good deal. Their chef does an amazing job - the food is always delicious and perfectly cooked and there is something for everyone on the menu. The breakfast is also delicious and again, plenty of selection. We stayed in a Suite which was lovely and it was good to have the extra seating space to be able to totally relax. However, the lounge and bar are also really comfortable with plenty of seating. There are lots of board games as well as cards etc. for the guests to use and a good selection of drinks at the bar. Location is perfect as it is on a quiet Avenue away from the hussle and bussle but less than 5 mins easy walk to the sea front either through North Lodge Park or via the town. We are looking forward to next time already!

Had a lovely stay in this hotel, breakfast was freshly cooked and good quality with things like home made jam etc. The 2 guys running the hotel were very welcoming and the hotel is a few minutes walk into the town, so we parked the car in their free car park and just walked everywhere. My only complaint would be that they do not service the rooms. We were there 4 nights and no bed made, bins emptied or toilet cleaned etc. At £160 a night I expect to have my room serviced and actually have never been to a hotel that does not offer this as standard. I expect it started due to Covid but that is not an excuse now. The reception is not manned so you do feel like you are in a deserted hotel at times but this didn’t bother us.

Only a low score due to the cost of the room per night. If it was reasonably priced (I would say it was double the cost to what it should be) then this score would be different.
Pros-
Good location near town centre, quiet residential street
Plenty of parking
Reasonable size room
Relatively clean
Cons-
No housekeeping for the duration of the stay (apparently due to covid but we felt for the cost of the room per night as a minimum we would expect clean towels and our bed linen made up daily)
No facilities, breakfast not included in the cost which is bad when considering the cost.
Restaurant closed. Bar open but not manned.
Rooms very dated and need some tlc
Tiny tv which is clearly very old as the picture quality was poor
Room was very hot despite the cooler weather, would have struggled if we came along when it was warmer weather
2 single beds pushed together not a king size bed
Beds were extremely hard, I like a firm mattress but this was probably the hardest mattress I have ever slept on, same with the pillows
As stated above, if we had paid around £70-80 a night then the score would be higher and the cons list wouldn’t be such an issue. However when paying double to what you would expect for a room/hotel of this standard then you do expect more.
I assume the prices have been elevated significantly as they are aware that people are staying in the UK rather then travelling abroad however this is very shortsighted as people will not return when paying such high rates for such average rooms/service.

We appreciate that these are challenging times, especially for the hospitality trade who were forced to close for a long period of time. So you would expect your host to be at the least happy to welcome guests into their, now open, establishment. You couldn’t be more wrong. Not only were they not providing evening food, with the throw away remark that every other place in Cromer is booked up. There was no offer to try and assist. Then to say you can get a drink but not after 9pm. When we went out into Cromer, we had the same unfriendly and unhelpful response from all other places we tried to find food and drink.
Cromer is NOT a charming seaside town they portray themselves.
We returned and left, but before we left he did not even have the courtesy to come and talk to us face to face. I had to ring him from reception.
So they charge people full rates without most of the facilities.
I strong recommend that people spend their money where they receive a service and get what they pay for.
Customer service is my business and I suggest this establishment takes some courses.

Tastefully decorated B&B in a quiet leafy Avenue a few minutes walk to the cliff tops and Cromer. Reasonably sized car park if guests park considerably. Good choices is for breakfast. Henry, the young waiter, will brighten your day with his efficient service and friendly banter.
Covid recommendations give scope for implementation. Some hotels we have stayed not impacting on customer service, others inclined to use Covid as an excuse to reduce service levels but not price.
At the Virgina Court you will find a rarely manned reception desk, but a push button to use between 0800-11.00 & 1500-2000. No room servicing during your stay despite the hotel's recently updated website, with increased prices, saying it will be serviced on Day 4. Fresh towels from Reception between 0800-1100. Other hotels have fully serviced our room whilst still keeping staff & customers safe. Bar opened on request limited hours. Restaurant closed apart from breakfast.
Virginia Court advertises free WIFI throughout the hotel including rooms. Service in our room either unavailable or kept dropping out. Owners told us that WIFI was not guaranteed.
We choose a king/twin. Do call the hotel and ask the size of the room that you will be allocated. Ours was a tiny approx. 12foot by 9foot. Hardly any room to move around. Tiny wardrobe too small to hang clothes and take cases. Good shower in bathroom. Room only suitable as a single.

It's easy to see why this hotel gets such great reviews. The owners are really friendly and helpful. The rooms and communal areas are decorated to a high standard with contemporary decor. There is a comfortable lounge and large south-facing with extremely comfortable garden furniture. Our room was large and spotless. Great breakfast choice too. The hotel is in a very quiet residential street but is only minutes away from the beach and shops. I can definitely see us returning. Two things would make it perfect (in my opinion!) - sunshades in the garden and no radio playing in lounge - it would be a much nicer place to sit and read a book on a chilly day without background music. But overall, a really great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed during the summer for a holiday/work week to get out of London. Martin and Shaun were exceptional hosts, attending to our every need, and the breakfast and coffee were particularly fresh, and delicious. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious, with plenty of work space. Covid procedures were vigilant and well attended to. The hotel is perfectly situated in a less than 5 min walk to beach and centre. Was an absolute delight and highly recommended!

We stayed for 2 nights in September. The hotel is charming, clean and comfortable. Shaun and Martin have made everything feel very Covid safe without compromising on guests comfort. There is a really pretty garden area and breakfast was varied and delicious. The hotel is not serving evening meals which was made clear to us before our arrival, and we were advised to book restaurants as well as being provided with a list. Shaun and Martin gave us some good recommendations not only for dining but also for walking. The hotel is very short walk into Cromer and you can queue for a table at the fish and chip restaurants which is what we did. No 1 fish and chips were some of the best I’ve ever had! All in all a delightful stay at a really lovely hotel.

Stayed here with my partner. We booked via Expedia which was an error as this didn't include breakfast (didn't pick up on this at time of booking). £130 a night for a room only basis in hind sight was a little bit steep.
The room wasn't turned down during stay due to covid which was ok, we just asked at reception for the bits we wanted.
Our room was to the rear of the property, right next to the bin collection early on the Monday morning. Also right outside where the staff went outside to smoke which meant we had to shut our room window.
The room was comfortable, bit dusty but great shower!
