We viewed rooms at this hotel over a month ago for out 5 German visitors and booked them for 4 nights. After checking in today our guests were directed to different rooms from the ones booked. These substitute rooms were filthy and not at all like the ones reserved. We had no choice but to pull out of the booking.

Must say one of the worst I have ever stayed in. I like to think I'm fair but first impressions OK, staff friendly enough, bed made etc but looking at the towels I have found they have been used previously, not washed with make up smeared over them! What really tipped me over the edge was a few sheet of...

Hi stayed for week while working. Hotel heating seems to be always on so have to turn radiators off. Rooms are very. Basic but clean. Night club bang opposite so don't expect a quiet night sleep.nice town though with some pleasant places for food and drinks. No parking available so you have to pay or go in car park round...

A great location as very central location for town centre and handy for shops bars and restaurant's .The hotel itself could be so much nicer .The reception area not very friendly and unmanned .The room was ok but not very clean and there was no towel in the room until I asked for one .The kettle was too big for...

As other reviews have covered the same point, the only point that's positive about this hotel is that it's central. The room itself was noisy, untidy, dated & not well maintained. Exposed light fittings next to the shower, which itself was tiny, dirty and 0 pressure to the shower. Kettle and coffee & tea sachets provided, but sink to shallow...

Very poor service. Room was in dire need of redecoration, a light was broken, there was no curtain at one window, the door to the room didn't shut properly and the leather effect bedstead was damaged in a number of places. No glasses in the room, no cupboard just a few hooks. There was a lingering aroma of toilet. The...

Its central, its cheap and cheerful and the receptionist is friendly and nice. Other that that its like a homely travel lodge! Bed was comfy and nice enough, shower was good and powerful, double glazing blocked out the noise of the high street. When i read about noisey taps and bad condition i think you get what you pay for....

Unfortunately some joker at work booked me in here, this isn't so much a hotel as a doss house, the rooms are tired and poorly finished, I was lucky enough to be woken by neighbours playing music loudly and having a conversation just outside my room, whilst not the hotels fault it struck me as the norm. I gave the...

I'm lying here in my bed in the George at 1:50 am being tortured by my neighbour constantly running a tap next door! The water here makes a hell of a racket and reverberates between rooms. (High pressure forced through tight bends/small bore pipes - I'm a plumber). Just when I think it's safe to try to sleep it starts...

Centrally located - that's THE only perk! Otherwise.....don't bother. It's not the cheapest either considering the bad condition of the accommodation. Please read reviews of this 'hotel' before booking. I made a huge mistake and this is the WORST accommodation I've ever experienced....
