Have you ever left a hotel and felt like you got to know the people that run the place so well that they felt like family and it made you sad because you had to go? Yeah, me neither. But that was the case when my wife and I stayed at Buffalo Rock Lodge. From the moment we arrived for...

Ditto to everything the others had to say. Wonderful hostess, beautiful location, comfortable room, scrumptious breakfasts. Marilyn was so accommodating when our flight was canceled, and we had to stay overnight at Ohare. Absolutely hated having to lose almost a day of our trip. When we finally arrived and saw the place and our wonderful view of Mt. Rushmore, it...

I won't go into too much detail as most of the people that left reviews are pretty spot on. Marilyn was definitely a very friendly person and made sure you had everything you needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is looking to visit Custer State Park or the surrounding area. The food was really good and...

We stayed at the Buffalo Rock Lodge on our trip to South Dakota to hike and see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Our host, Marilyn, was exceptional! She greeted us immediately when we arrived at her beautiful lodge and gave us the tour. We arrived in the evening, so we got settled in and then got to hang out with...

My wife and I spent 8 days here in the beginning of September. From our first communications with the owner Marilyn to our last moments there, the trip was a delight. Each morning began with a sumptuous breakfast featuring an egg dish, a meat dish, fresh fruit, fresh pastries/scones and juice, tea and coffee. Memorable dishes include "just peachy eggs",...

We stayed for only one evening with Ms Oakes - only night available - and certainly glad we did. One of the best B&B's we have experienced. The Black Hills are unique and this log cabin structure is equally extraordinary. Ms Oakes is a knowledgeable host and very gracious with the additional time she devoted to us. craig & KAREEN...

If you need relaxation after traveling,as we did from New Jersey, take a couple of days here with a fantastic view of Mt. Rushmore from the deck and a beautiful room with yummy breakfast each morning. In the evening, the owner serves a nice dessert to all the guests during the lighting of Rushmore. I can't even begin to tell...

Buffalo Rock Lodge provides a great Bed and Breakfast experience. Marilyn is a warm and knowledgeable innkeeper, who truly enjoys meeting her guests and insuring that they get the most enjoyment out of their vacation to the Mount Rushmore area of South Dakota. We arrived just before dark on the evening that we visited this lodge. The lodge is definitely...

We had a wonderful stay at the Buffalo Rock Lodge! Wish we could have stayed longer... Marilyn was great host! She had lots of information and history on the surrounding area & her "peachy eggs & blueberry almond muffins" are to die for! We stayed in the Norbeck room, it was beautiful, comfortable & clean!

Another terrific B&B experience on a first visit to Mt. Rushmore and SD. Proprietor, Marilyn, provides turn by turn instructions for 4 days of touring the area. Comfortable accommodation, good breakfast, inviting rustic location, and plenty of local history knowledge.
