If you are driving through, need to be relatively near San Francisco and don't mind the ultimate motel experience then the price, which is still high compared to other typical cities, will make it worth your while. No funky smells, but backed up drain. No fan to pull moisture after shower from the room. Had to open a window which...

We planned a last minute trip to the beach and found the Tamalpais Motel. It was the most affordable place to stay that was close to the beach so we made a reservation. From the outside it is very old, but has a lot of charm and it only has 23 rooms. We got there about 8 pm and was...

We arrived to a room with dirty and dusty conditions not to mention the peanuts scattered throughout the rooms carpeted area. I went to the office to ask for some paper towels and explained the condition. They were very polite and immediately moved us to another room. We found this room to be better to some degree. No peanuts, but...

Stayed here after traveling all day and arriving at SFO with 4 kids after midnight. Arrived around 2am so I brushed off the front desk attendants grumpy attitude until we met again in the morning after our toilet clogged with just a small amount of tp and ended up overflowing and covering the bathroom floor. When I called the desk,...

I stayed here in February so may have not been high season for pricing. This definitely is not a modern property, dated yet functional enough. We were looking for a reasonably priced poperty that was clean and close to where we were photographing. This place fit the bill for that. Was it the nicest place I've stayed at? Certainly not....

We booked the motel after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures on the website. We arrived at the motel and although the exterior looked worn and in need of maintenance we decided to give it a good. The guy at reception was helpful and booking in was quick. We got to our room and we were completely horrified!!!!...

Although it has a good location just a few minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, it is old, outdated, and way overpriced. The bed was comfortable and it was clean but nothing even remotely close to the asking price. We paid $158 with Tax for a room with 2 beds, but the room was way too small for even 1...

Stayed on weekend to be close to family who made reservation for us based on price. This is a very pricey area, but the big minus with the Tamalpais Motel is the smallness of the rooms and the lack of amenities. If two nights were under 150 rather than over 300, I might stay here in a pinch. Frankly I...

Motel was clean and cozy. Very reasonable rates. Management bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. I forgot my hair dryer and asked where I could buy one and they lent me one for the stay. Fridge and microwave in room. My daughter got her own room which she loved. We only asked for 2 beds and got an...

Ignore the fact that Tamalpias Motel looks like the "Bates Motel", I found few reviews for this motel but decided to chance it at $86 a night for a king non smoking. Check in was at 2:00 I arrived at 11:00 and the nice lady at the desk let me check in early. Points!!! Then she proceeded to allow me...
