We both thought that this hotel was wonderful. Friendly staff, beautiful place, interesting history, we wished that we had stayed longer than the one night. We did the tour, we drank in the bar, but we didn't eat dinner or lunch, so can't comment on the food, although we had

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Monmouth. We here so often from our guests that they wish they could have stayed longer. Monmouth is a true experience. You can enjoy the gardens, fish , relax and enjoy cocktails in our bar with our well known bartender Roosevelt. Then have a wonderful candlelight dinner in our popular Restaurant 1818. Hopefully you will be able to return.

We stayed two night while visiting Natchez. The accommodations are very nice, comfortable and with appreciable details (even if we were not in one of the few rooms of the historic house). We loved staying there. Don’t miss to have dinner at the restaurant, which is actually in

This was a Christmas gift for my husband and I from a close friend. Just driving onto the property I was in awe of the beauty of the property even in the winter and how well they had preserved its historic charm. Checking in was a breeze and the front desk clerk was extremely

Our favorite place to sit with a cup of coffee or an ice cold mint julep.
We stayed in a cottage, we had a beautiful view of the fishing pond.
Offcourse the house is great... but I am sure there are much more houses that have the same look. I saw some amazing other places too. Which are much smaller and give more personal touch. The Monmouth was for me already too commercial. NO personal touch. Food... not so great. Certainly not special. BUt I am sure if you look around you can found a place just as nice and with more hospitality character. Have a great day!!!

accessibility for slow walking 85 year old
This property is the perfect place for someone who is slow walking. I would recommend, however, that someone accompany the 85 year old, and think staying in the Main House or Pond Cottage would be perfect. Then you could easily access your car for anyplace else you wished to go to and zip down quickly to the Garden Room for breakfast. :)

Officially, I have no answer, but rumor has it there may have been paranormal activity/sightings in rooms 22 and 29. Both rooms are in buildings original to the property.
