Monmouth in January is a great way to get away and relax. We stayed three nights. The entire staff were great and very helpful and friendly to us. I want the owners to know that the staff is their greatest asset. The meal at 1818 was better than expected. The room was warm even on a cold night. We toured...

Monmouth was a wonderful plantation house experience for a couple who'd barely set foot properly in the Deep South. The house and gardens were spectacular even in persistent rain and the main house was a beautiful mix of the quaint and the comfortable. Coming from Ireland, with castle and country house hotels around every second corner, we didn't expect to...

We have just returned from a 3 day weekend in Nachez. We went, primarily because we wanted to stay at Monmouth, which I had heard about for more than 30 years, but never had the opportunity to enjoy it. We were greeted by old fashioned southern hospitality. Hal, a fixture at Monmouth for 20+ years made us immediately welcome, and...

Thank you for your kind words about our staff and Monmouth Historic Home. One of the perks of my job is meeting the many wonderful people that visit here and having them experience all of the wonderful things Monmouth has to offer . We will look forward to your next visit. Until then I hope you enjoy many Mint Julips...

This was a lovely place...as long as you understand what it is. To us...this is a beautiful plantation Inn. I would not consider it a true B and B. we did not have good weather...but the grounds were still beautiful. I think it is a fantastic place for an event like a wedding...with 30 rooms. The reason it is not...

we stayed for 3 nights over Christmas and enjoyed the hotel very much. The staff were always helpful and the room was excellent. When it got cold, we turned on the heating which was quite ferocious but excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant several times and enjoyed the food and service - while the menu is brief we did...

Monmouth is a delightful antebellum experience. The house and grounds are awesome. The 1818 restaurant atmosphere was very elegant with great food. The best of the dining experience is the complimentary southern breakfast served in the garden house. If staying in the main house access to the rooms up stairs is hard to maneuver with a lot of luggage but...

We married December 1, 2012. My wife, who goes the beaches by our house almost every day, surprised me by saying she wanted to stay on a plantation, rather than the trip to Hawaii I thought she would want. She chose the Monmouth. I read some reviews, called the desk there, and felt comfortable. I am amazed to read some...

Recently stayed the weekend at Monmouth. The staff are all fantastic! The grounds are great! The complimentary breakfast was very good as was the food from the bar menu (we didn't eat dinner at 1818). There are rooms in the main house and also rooms in a number of "out" buildings. We stayed in a room in one of those...

Having driven from Memphis via Vicksburg on our tour from Atlanta and Nashville, we arrived at the jewel in the crown, the Monmouth Plantation. We only had the one day and night here on our way down to New Orleans but it lived up to expectations. The staff were lovely and receptive to our jokes, the room was just as...
