We were fortunate to book a last minute stay at Whispering Waves Cottages for the night of August 10, 2022.

We booked through Booking dot com. The owners confirmed with booking within minutes and sent instructions for our arrival and departure. It was a completely no contact experience, which in the time of COVID, we appreciated.

We stayed in cottage 6. It was nicely located on the property, very private. Parking right by the door made unloading and loading very easy,

The cottage had a spacious living area, kitchen and bathroom. There were two bedrooms, both with double beds. The main bedroom also had an in-room hot tub.

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need for any length of stay. The towels in the bathroom were so soft! They felt wonderful on the skin. There is a crib and checkers game under the coffee table in the living area for guest use.

Everything in the cottage was clean and just felt really comfortable.

We sat outside on the front porch for most of our visit. The front porch overlooks the water. It was exactly the recharge we needed.

There are multiple seats on the porch and in the front yard, a BBQ and a ring toss game at each cottage.

The property has a gazebo, firepit and plenty of seating down near the water. The property is quiet and beautiful.

I am glad we stumbled across Whispering Waves, would love to do a longer stay sometime.

Who books a cottage in December? We are glad we did. Watched the 34 boats leave Dumping Day, enjoyed ocean, the deer, and of course the same day lobster. This was an awesome vacation. So quiet and relaxing here. Our 4th visit but first not in the summer months. I would highly recommend especially if lobster fishing is of interest.

Fantastic property would recommend it to anyone. Favorite parts were the deer coming (Hubby counted 10 one morning) and fishing boats coming in and out of the Harbour. Secluded, everything you need internet, satellite and fully functional kitchen

I was very disappointed with the service. We arrived, no one was on the property to greet us. I called the number shown and the host/owner answered. I asked which cabin we were in and she initially scrambled to confirm as she commented 'let me check' and sounded uncertain, then provided the cabin number, noting she was not there on the property. We entered the cabin and it was a disaster. Beds unmade, garbage present, looking like people recently left and it was not cleaned. I called the host/owner back, could hear kids yelling in the back ground (unprofessional). She told us to check two other vacant cabins and to select one. We did that and I called her back to confirm which one we chose. I got her voice mail. The room had lots of ants in the kitchen area, climbing the walls and on the floor. Nearest place to eat was 30 minutes away. At point of payment I asked for a break in the cost due to poor service, the cabin not being ready, and the ants. She offered maximum $20 off - not to my satisfaction. I expressed my dissatisfaction and she was rather snippy (not sincere or apologetic) with her defensive tone on the phone along with admitting/justifying this is not her full time work or focus - that was evident for sure. She expressed that her and her husband have full time jobs and this is a side job - obviously not priority. That was obvious with the lack of presence, not greeting, and poor organization of the cabins. I would not recommend this place, even though the cabin and view was nice. Won't go back there.

Whispering Waves Cottages was a perfect getaway for two. It was romantic, peaceful and relaxing. It was priced excellent. It included a romantic Lobster dinner and it was very tasty! It also included a breakfast basket for the two mornings we were there.

It is located in Ingomar, Shelburne County.

The cottage was clean and beautiful! Really enjoyed the jacuzzi in the bedroom. Highly reccomend this getaway.

Gorgeous location! We stayed for a wedding in nearby Shelburne. The cottage is very well kept, clean, quiet and right on the ocean. Just gorgeous! We stayed for 3 nights with our toddler. They provided a pack n play which was great. The cottage had everything you needed to prepare all meals including a lobster dinner.
The location is remote so if you are in nova scotia to sight see, it is not near the main touristy things to do in nova scotia but if you need to be near Shelburne it is an excellent choice. We did briefly meet one of the owners who was lovely and only a phone call away.
My only complaint was the smell of the water from the pipes. It wreaked of Sulphur and only got marginally better during our stay. We did make the owners aware. So bring bottled water for drinking!
Overall a wonderful stay!

We stayed here one night only, and wished we had a second. This facility is well run, with cottages on the ocean. Ours (#3) was about 1200 square feet, completely equipped, immaculate and about 80% repainted. The owners will be finishing this unit in the fall, installing a flat screen television and completing the painting. As it is a housekeeping unit, you must bring your own food, but the kitchen is extremely well equipped. Paul and Charlotte are constantly upgrading the property and have just moved into a house located there. There is a fire pit by the ocean and you are able to swim off the property.

If you want quiet and a bit of solitude, this is the place to go, one hour up the south shore from Yarmouth, NS and the Nova Star ferry.

My family stayed in one of the beautiful cottages on our ‘German road trip’ across Nova Scotia and didn’t want to leave :-) The location right by the ocean is absolutely beautiful and so special; and the cottages are fantastic! Charlotte & Paul made us feel very welcome and we can’t wait to come back very soon.

We spent 2 nights June 14 & 15, 2012 for our 25th anniversary at this beautiful spot. Charlotte and Paul made us feel very welcomed.

There was a breakfast basket in the fridge upon our arrival. Containing a pound of bacon, half a dozen eggs, butter and bagels. The lobster and chicken supper that Charlotte delivered to our door was very delicious.

We saw some rabbits and a deer during our stay. There is a large fire pit and wood there so you can make fires. We enjoyed this very much as we watched the sunset.

We have recommended these cottages to our friends and family and we would definitely go back again.

We stayed in the cottages in August - it was our second visit and it is absolutely awesome...the view is breathtaking,,the cottages were super clean and Charlotte and Paul were the most gracious of hosts...they truly want you to have a good time and spare no expense of showing you true Nova Scotian hospitality...the jacuzzi was very relaxing...we didn't get a chance to use the fireplace but would love to go back in the fall to experience it...The kitchen was adequate with optimal space and i didn't see any "dollar store" utensils...one has to remember that these are cottages designed for relaxation in mind. If you're looking for and expecting the Ritz Carlton with the hustle and bustle than stay at the Ritz Carlton,,if you're looking for and expecting a great place for a great value with hometown hospitality than this is your place...Incidentally, there were no "salt water incidents". In talking with the owners they did say they had an issue with their well and a new one was dug. I suspect the writers in the previous posts perhaps stayed during this time however we had absolutely no issues and would definately stay again!!!
