We were fortunate to book a last minute stay at Whispering Waves Cottages for the night of August 10, 2022. We booked through Booking dot com. The owners confirmed with booking within minutes and sent instructions for our arrival and departure. It was a completely no contact experience, which in the time of COVID, we appreciated. We stayed in cottage 6. It was nicely located on the property, very private. Parking right by the door made unloading and loading very easy, The cottage had a spacious living area, kitchen and bathroom. There were two bedrooms, both with double beds. The main bedroom also had an in-room hot tub. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need for any length of stay. The towels in the bathroom were so soft! They felt wonderful on the skin. There is a crib and checkers game under the coffee table in the living area for guest use. Everything in the cottage was clean and just felt really comfortable. We sat outside on the front porch for most of our visit. The front porch overlooks the water. It was exactly the recharge we needed. There are multiple seats on the porch and in the front yard, a BBQ and a ring toss game at each cottage. The property has a gazebo, firepit and plenty of seating down near the water. The property is quiet and beautiful. I am glad we stumbled across Whispering Waves, would love to do a longer stay sometime.

Who books a cottage in December? We are glad we did. Watched the 34 boats leave Dumping Day, enjoyed ocean, the deer, and of course the same day lobster. This was an awesome vacation. So quiet and relaxing here. Our 4th visit but first not in the summer months. I would highly recommend especially if lobster fishing is of interest.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be. We rented a cottage for five days. We saw a deer family on the grounds and sometimes there was a playful seal in the water in front of our cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, pots and pans were pristine. Very good laundry facilities. Lovely deck. I felt at home in a home away from home. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Our family rented two cottages for a family time. Cottages are lovely, clean, great jacuzzi tub, lots of cooking utensils. Cottages are on a rocky shoreline.not suitable for swimming. Ignomar beach is about a 15 min walk on the road then another 15 min walk down a trail to a lovely sandy beach. Unfortunately when we were there it was cool and foggy. A drive to nearby Shelburne is about 30 minutes, it was sunny and hot. Cottages were very quiet, no parties when we were there. Big fire pit, but so many mosquitoes and fog, we didn’t have a fire. I doubt we would stay there again, too far to Shelburne, too far to beaches, too foggy and cool.

I enjoyed the quiet of the area and the cottage (#7) was set a bit back from the rest which i was ok with, The cottage was clean and the bed was comfy and firm. A few issues that should be looked at. The door had a deadbolt on it however it did not line up with the door frame so it did not work. As a woman there by herself, I felt security could have been better. If nothing else put a chain lock on the door. Another rather important issue, no place to hang clothes. There were 2 hooks in hte bedroom and one hanger. If you came in from the rain with a wet jacket there was no place to hang it at the back door.. a few hanging pegs there would be handy. There is plenty of room in the bedroom for a standalone wardrobe but nothing but a small dresser was provided. I like to hang things to get rid of wrinkles and not live out of a suitcase but there were no options here. Also the bathroom had no place to put even a toothbrush. Please put some shelves up. People have toiletries and i personally don't like them sitting on the back of the toilet. And i did not appreciate the cigarette butt bucket right outside my door that still had butts in it. Nice place but needs some additional work.

The fire pit was communal. There are 7 cottages in that small area, so it wasn't as private as we thought. Inside the cottage was fine and clean. Room was a little small but it was cozy. Bed was comfortable. My only issue was with internet and personal space. Wifi was extremely slow and outdated. My phone had no service around the area so I didn't have internet. And the wifi speed was 0.015 Mbps when it connected. I didn't love it there but I can certainly see why others might. Overall it was an ok experience.

While these cottages are waterfront, it is on an 'inlet' from the ocean, not the actual ocean where you hear the waves. To get grocery items, ice, gas, beer, etc:, you have to drive a half hour to either Shelburne or Barrington Passage. While these cottages are very roomy & clean at check-in, they are NOT housekeeping cottages. Stayed 4 nights and no one came around to clean up or empty the garbage. The closest white sand beach requires a 15 to 20 minute walk if you don't have a truck or a high vehicle to get down the road to the beach. The next closest is about a 15 minute drive and has minimal parking area. Unfortunately, during our stay, we had constant thick fog for three days which I am told is not uncommon for this area. The served lobster dinner was not available due to the owners of this property being away for the days that we were there. You get your own clean towels and drop off your dirty ones at the laundry shack near the cabins. For me, the location is too remote and there is too much chance of thick fog in this area.
