Detailed Reviews
This was our second time at this motel is as many years. We like it while motorcycling in the region. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They even advised us at time of booking that getting food in the area would be difficult during our visit because of Covid closings and a busy race weekend. The rooms are very clean and equipped withy a fridge, kettle, microwave and use of a common barbeque. Wi-fi is excellent. Ice is available free at the office. Beds are very comfortable. Patio chairs outside every room for the smokers or to enjoy an after ride drink in the open air. Will certainly stay again on our next trip. Highly recommend.

We have stayed several times. The Inn is super clean and comfortable! It has a rural feel to it. A 5 min walk to a nice restaurant next door. There are rooms front and back....the back is so peaceful and quiet. Hosts Sue and Eric go out of their way to accommodate. I left a sweater and they mailed it to my home!! Totally recommend!

As far as basic lodging goes, this places does it very well. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, fridge, microwave, wifi, friendly and helpful owners. If you don't need a pool, bar, gym and other frills, this works just fine.

The room was clean but a smell of moisture catches you in the nose as soon as you enter. I had the Impression the carpet was wet.
The Award is ridiculous for the quality this place offers. The ceiling lights are too powerful and there is no bedside lamp.
Hot water in the shower runs out after 7 minutes...

Zero stars. Sent very rude emails after I booked with hotels.com telling me to cancel. The hotel also has a 100% no refund policy. Yeah. I had to spend hours on the phone with the booking company to get a refund since this hotel has a no cancellation policy so I couldn't just cancel as they DEMANDED. If I did I would be out the money and the hotel would still get paid in full. Uhmm... All in caps, just like that as if I somehow offended them by renting a room. Incredibly rude. hotels.com was great and also unimpressed by this hotels lack of organization and professionalism. I cannot believe they treated paid customers this way. I have never seen such terrible customer service before. Amazed they are still open.

It is a challenge to run a small motel. In this particular instance we received the reservation from EXPEDIA. We just recently signed on with EXPEDIA and have had difficulty with communication re RATES and CHARGES. I wanted clarification on their charges! They charge 18% commission and then there is a 10% discount rate on the rooms. I had no idea what this extra 10% DISCOUNT was that they were offering on MY ROOMS. I tried to get answers and to no avail. 30% off the top of my regular room rates was not something I was prepared to accept in the BUSY SEASON! When this reservation came in I immediately informed LISAL200 to CANCEL because I didnot have that that option and I did not want her to show up with no room. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY MONEY AS SHE INDICATED i WAS PAID IN FULL!!! iT IS UNFORTUNATE. The booking companies are very difficult to deal with and get answers on communication. As a small motel that has only the summer months to make income that affords the opportunity to keep offering CLEAN, COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION to the traveling public WE DO OUR BEST! our rooms are MODERN and CLEAN and GUEST REVIEWS indicate that as well as GREAT HOSPITALITY. ZERO STARS basically shows the RATING SYSTEM LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED!!

I stayed here for 2 nights recently. I will write my review stating pros and cons, as always.
PROS:
-easy to find, right on the highway
- very comfortable bed!
- room and bathroom looked recently painted (relatively)
- hair dryer in bathroom
- large closet
- microwave, kettle, mini-fridge in the room
- a couple of candies and chocolates were nice touch
- single rooms had one bed and a couch and coffee table and lots of room
- heater was easy to use and effective and relatively quiet
- tasteful art on the walls
- new TV and remote, got lots of tv stations
CONS
- I found 2 hairs on the bed when I lifted the sheets. ew.
- some yellow stains on 2 of the pillowcases. ew.
- no tea, no milkers, only instant coffee and sugar and Coffeemate whitener
- no lamp beside the table, but had overhead florescent lights which were bright, bt if you left the one over the couch on rather than the one over the bed, it wasn't so bad.
- 1 of the 2 coffeemugs had a stain at the very bottom centre that could have easily been washed off, as I gave it a swipe with my finger and left a clean streak. And then the next day I had the same mug with my clean streak in the midle of the stain! again EW!
I called to ask if they used a dishwasher and the lady said she washes them by hand. Clearly her hand is too short to reach the middle-bottom of the mug. She said she would pay more attention in the future.
- The alarm clock radio did not receive a SINGLE station!
Overall I'd say it was not a bad place to stay, though I was surprised to pay over $100 per night. But I guess you don't have much to choose from in that area.
Restauant tip: There are 2 restaurants within walking distance. Avoid Shooter's bar and grill and go to the Pizzeria. The food at the pizzeria is awesome. The bar and grill's food and atmosphere are mediocre at best.

I came through your establishment this past Saturday late evening. I was the cold and wet motorcyclist looking for a place to stay. Depstie not having a room over a very busy weekend, I wanted to thank you for the hospitality you showed me me by allowing me to charge my phone, use your phone to call my wife so she wouldn't worry, get my rain gear on, warm up and finally pulling out a map and getting me back on the right track.
I know the kind woman was worried about me getting home safely that night, so here I am letting you know that I did - I was just a little cold.
I'll be sure to get back to Calabogie very soon and this time with reservations at your inn.
Thank you again for your warmth and hospitlaity.

Booked through an online service then was emailed by the hotel to tell me I needed to pay the service a $71 cancellation fee and book through their website because they did not want to pay the %15 commission. Additionally, when I logged in to Booking.com I later updated the occupancy of my 2 bed hotel room to two, as the functionality was not supported earlier; I was told I was sneaky and probably made more money then the pressumable owners of the hotel based on my email address. See ridiculous correspondence attached and be advised.
My advice, save the headache of having to call your CC company and book somewhere else.

This individual, GRAHAM MOORE, works for TOYOTA--an ENGINEER. He sure can manipulate the facts. He was informed that there would be NO CANCELLATION FEE. He was informed that there was a communication error regarding BOOKING.COM and we were no able to accept this reservation. The reservation is for SEPTEMBER, 2018. Within 24hrs. of booking he was informed of the problem. He has 5 months to book a room so we did not leave him sleeping on the street! The room and price is listed or ONE PERSON. He wanted to have two people accommodated for the price of ONE. I explained we are a small seasonal business and could offer very nice accommodation at a reasonable price if he contacted us via our website. WE did our best. Can't please everyone.

I stayed there for 2 nights while at an event at the Peaks (5km away). It was wonderful.
Very pleasant owners who live right on site, met me at the door... easy check in.
I was in a room out back and never heard a peep of traffic.
Nice adirondack chairs and a grass strip before the sidewalk made it feel like they take the time to keep it nice and relaxed.
The room was very very clean, excellent maintenance and care, flat screen tv on the wall, great AC unit.
Looks like they are putting in a new building as well.
Cool little restaurant / bar only a couple hundred yards down the road.
Recommended as a great place to stay

Quite aceptable place to lay one's head. Room was clean and spacious. Not too much in area to choose from if you have budget consierations. What you do outside of your room is more important anyways. Would stay again if in the area for a couple of days.

TRIP ADVISOR is not doing our business any favor when you DISPLAY"adequate lodging" as the summation of this review!!! "ROOM WAS CLEAN & SPACIOUS" ALSO you list our prices INCORRECTLY in some of the internet locations of TRIP ADVISOR! We are not an official paid member. Where do you get your information?? I do not wish to be part of your WEB SITE!!!!! Please respond.

WE are NOT PET FRIENDLY. Had too much damage and difficulties with pets/owners!
WE have kettle and microwave and bar fridge
"We only found out as we were leaving that there is a row of rooms behind the ones we stayed in! I suppose if you want extra quiet, you could ask for one of them. If you are a couple sharing a bed, ask for a single room so you have all the extra space."Read full review
