We went in May to this hotel on a Sunday night the owner had said at time of check in that the rooms weren't clean because so many people just stayed there the night before. He walked around to a few rooms while I stood in the lobby. He decided room 14 was good, check in otherwise was fine. Once in the room we heard noise at the back window and he was out there fixing the ac box which was quite odd since it was kind of chilly outside. That night we were the only car in the whole parking lot. Parking lot had lights and we felt safe. Room was clean, fancy colours and we left we no issues the next morning.

I dont see whats the reason behind all the bad reviews. People have to realize that this isnt 5* hotel but a budget motel. If you want frills and spotless environment, there are other places to stay at in Goderich.
- basic motel room with mini fridge, microwave, tv, coffee maker
- bed is new and comfortable
- room could do with a better cleaning, but who cares really
- bathroom with bathtub/shower and good pressure hot water (toiletries provided)

The Air Condition unit. Lets just say that if this is on at night, you are NOT sleeping. Bring good earplugs.
In short, perfect stay for a weekend, in a great location. Check in was smooth and check out easy. Owners are on property and keeping the place tidy and well

Harmony Inn is centrally located in Goderich, Ontario. There is ample free parking. It is a motel. We stayed in a room with 2 Queen beds. The room includes a half size refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The room is quiet, in that we were away from the road. We also did not hear any noise from the adjoining rooms.
A drawback which gave the 3-star rating: There was mould on the wall in the bathroom. The mould appeared to be there for quite some time and was black. The mould was there when we first entered the room. It is possible the mould came from moisture from the shower. We should have, but did not bring this to the attention of the hotel management while we were there.

I traveled to Goodridge to help train at Foodland in Clinton we booked your hotel because it was pet friendly. The room was not clean. The second day I came to the motel to find my room was not cleaned, I went to the front desk and mentioned that housekeeping had not been in my room, he started yelling at me and said they wouldn't enter if the dog was there, he was extremely rude, I said I understand and I would come to the desk and get fresh towels etc., after work. The next day after work I went to the office with my dog and asked him for towels, coffee, and cream I also mentioned that the soap dispenser was empty . He lost it on me, yelling and calling me stupid several times. I did not response because I didn't want to escalate the situation. He continued calling me stupid and I didn't get the rules he then told me to go to Walmart to get my own soap. He told me to get out of his office and I was an inconvenience to him and his staff. He then said " how old are you 60 you are really stupid" . I have never been treated with such disrespect. I will never return nor would I recommend your motel to and Sobeys members.

Horrible experience. Stayed here in a busy weekend. We had booked our night for 143$ and received confirmation via Agoda. Once we arrived to check in, the owner (Harry) told us that he told Expedia to contact us and let us know that the rate that we booked with is incorrect and it’s actually 200$/night and he cancelled our reservation. We told him we booked with Agoda and he said it didn’t matter because it’s all “third party stuff” and we should have received a cancellation email from Expedia. We told him we never received a cancellation email, text, or call and showed him our confirmation of reservation email. He repeatedly said that that’s not his problem and that if we don’t want to stay there we don’t have to, and it’s our responsibility to call Expedia to confirm the reservation. I explained to him that we received a confirmation email of our booking so there would be no reason to call. He said it didn’t matter, and this is the price, so we either take it or leave it. We tried to find somewhere else to stay but we both knew we would have no where else to stay on such short notice. He definitely took advantage of a busy Goderich weekend. We realized he decided to change the rate after we booked and our booking wasn’t with Expedia, it was with Agoda (which isn’t even owned by Expedia, it’s owned by Booking Holding), whom he never contacted to try and inform us of the cancelled reservation. We went back to explain this to him the next morning and were met with a very aggressive attitude. His customer service skills were atrocious and began yelling at us publicly. We have stayed in numerous motels and hotels and have never had an experience like this before. Also, he lectured us in how he has been in business for 37 years and encouraged us to write a bad review - yet didn’t know that Agoda isn’t owned by Expedia. Hope the extra 60 odd dollars was worth losing us and anyone reading this as customers, Harry.

Steer clear - Would give -5 star if I could. We booked this Inn in April for between our house sale and new house 11 days. He gave away our room first two nights, upped our weekend rate by twice our original rate, then said he had cancellations and offered our room back to us at 3x the price. Said he’s a private business so he can do what he wants. So be warned you risk if you have a room or not, or expect to pay more than you reserved

When I arrived I showed them my confirmation # thru Booking. Com & they told me they had no record of it. I needed a place to stay so I paid for a room at a higher rate. A room that I had booked for $553.00 ending up costing me over $1200. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Firstly, he’s not worried about 1 bad review at all. Later, after we got tricked, then I started reading all other reviews about this motel. I can clearly see his over confidence that no one can do anything. He is very much experienced in this way of earning money. This won’t last long man, someday this entire thing will go down, I’m sure of it.
Over the phone, we agreed one price and later I noticed my transactions, he tricked us. Deducted twice the amount of what was agreed on phone. We were 5 and asked how much for all ( $329/ night ). He couldn’t arrange 5 in one room & was given 2 rooms (discussed over phone). After the billing, he charged double for us saying 1 room per night is $329.
Suggestion: DONT TRUST his words, make sure twice and thrice before paying the money. He will only show the digital board to sign and nothing else. So make sure of everything before you sign and make a deal with this guy.

Arrived with my pet-supposedly pet friendly- upon arrival, they charged me a pet fee that was not included in the advertised price.
the room was smelly and worrying about cleanliness ended up leaving.
They kept the hotel fee even though we really didn't stay upon arrival and despite the fact that someone was ready to pay for the room if I did not stay.

check in was quick and we were given 2 cans of pop and 2 water bottles.
we have a dog so the motel suited us. there was no one walking down a hallway to disturb the dog.
it was a small room with cable. there was a microwave and small fridge. there was plenty of hot water for showers. the only issue was that the ac was loud so we turned it off at night.

The place is clean but needs redecorating.We will be going back to Goderich soon and will stay there.For the price don't expect the Sheraton though.
