We stayed in a lovely B&B in Napanee last night so we could go to an Old Canadian Furniture auction this morning. There wasn't one discordant note in any of the design or service details in former chef, Eunice Champlin's Gothic and Italianate revival style house built circa 1880. The original interior woodwork is reminiscent of the elegance of the era. The architectural form and details gave a sense of balance and tranquility. And we bought a small Quebec 1850's - 1860's pine wall box (with square mails) to hold our keys. We think we'll go back to Napanee next month, and just go to the auction as an afterthought.

My daughter and I recently attended a wedding in Napanee. We opted out of staying at the recommended hotel in town We prefer a more cosy setting and we love older homes. We were so happy with our decision to stay at the Blanche Dubois Bed and Breakfast. It was comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and we were served a delicious breakfast by our host Eunice. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

My wife and I spent a lovely two nights here. This is a B&B in a tastefully and well furnished house. As far as I know there are 2, possibly three places for rent on the second floor. The other bedroom on the floor is the owner's. We enjoyed her relaxed personality. A former chef and restaurant owner, we had the most delicious breakfasts - varied, beautifully presented and very tasty. I am a granola afficionado and her home made version was by far the best we've ever had. The B&B is on a perfectly quiet street a short walk to the main drag and close enough to walk to Napanee's best restaurant. There is a very spacious back yard deck with everything you could want. Our room had a quiet AC and a very large window. The bed was comfortable. Small issues were slightly creaking floors, the sink the bed, no bathtub and no soap or shampoo (which I am sure she would have provided if we asked). The door locks from the inside. The romantic and quality character of the place, the location, the price and the owner/manager made this a great getaway. Recommended!

Blanche is a warm, lovely person with superb taste and style - and is also an amazing chef. She has created a tranquil setting - quiet, beautiful and elegant. We stayed the night before our wedding and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. Very reasonable price :)

We went to Napanee for a wedding with the hotel in town sold out. Other TripAdvisor reviews convinced me to try this B&B and I am so glad they did! Serene, clean, friendly and comfortable. Breakfast is terrific and the hospitality is that of an age gone by. We highly recommend staying here and we will stay here any time we are in the area.

Our one night stay was excellent. Host was welcoming, friendly, flexible - home and rooms beautifully appointed, excellent quality linens and spotlessly clean throughout. We had dined several times at the owner's restaurant years ago and knew her B&B would be a wonderful experience with a superb breakfast to greet us in the morning. We were correct! Sadly it was raining, so we could not enjoy sitting in the garden, however, all herbs for breakfast were freshly picked. We will be back!

We had the pleasure of staying with Eunice one night during a recent trip to the area. We had our choice of room and chose the one at the back of the house which was spacious with a separate bathroom w/ tub. The bed was so comfortable with fresh (ironed!) sheets. This Victorian home is elegantly restored and we had a wonderful breakfast sitting at the front window. There is also a very nice deck out back where we sat and had a nice, friendly chat with Eunice the night before. There are train tracks nearby but that did not bother us. FYI there is no TV in the room (which didn't bother us either). A wonderful stay - we would go back in a heartbeat next time we are heading that way!

My wife and I were visiting from the Washington DC area for a family reunion and spent five nights at Blanche Dubois at Elysian Fields. Eunice couldn’t have been a more gracious host and made us feel both welcome and completely comfortable. Her house, built in the 1880s, was beautiful, charming and impeccably decorated. Our room was spacious with its own bathroom, comfortable bed and plenty of windows. The location on Thomas Street makes for an easy walk to shops and restaurants in Napanee. Breakfast was delicious (no surprise given Eunice’s background as a chef) with fresh fruit and yogurt, eggs, bacon, homemade muesli, herbs from the garden, juice, tea and coffee. All in all, a wonderful experience that we plan to repeat next year.

This B&B and Inn is a wonderful oasis for weary travelers and non-.weary travelers as well. My husband and I stayed here for three nights in mid-August, as we were in the area for a wedding. And we heartily agree with the earlier reviews! Eunice--the owner, chef, and hostess--is a trained and experienced cook with a warm personality and exquisite taste. The B&B is upscale and immaculate inside (right down to the glistening commercial kitchen) and the breakfasts were always fresh and beautifully presented. It was a pleasure to sit at one of the small tables in her sunny dining room (with crisp white linens, amid her orchids and art) and eat homemade granola, homemade preserves on multigrain toast, delicious egg dishes with fresh herbs from her garden, fresh fruit, juice, sausage, etc. We also slept well. The temperature in our room was right; the mattress was comfortable; we had our own bathroom with great towels. I was so impressed with Eunice and her B&B that I took our Napanee friends back to this lovely B&B to meet her and get a quick tour before we checked out (with Eunice's permission, of course).

Had the privilege of attending a birthday dinner party at Elysian Fields. The food and presentation were extraordinary: fresh gazpacho soup from the garden, sesame encrusted shrimp, pork tenderloin in a mustard sauce with fresh beans and potatoes and individual chocolate cakes with fruit. Superb taste and service. The B & B is spotless and Eunice is a treasure. Stayed overnight in a cosy comfortable room with the best sheets ever and woke to a lovely view of the garden. Special design touches include whimsical and creative art to complement the Eunice's truly welcoming spirit.
