In July we travelled to Bayshore cottages with our family of 5. This was a child’s dream land! There is a private park and volleyball court area on site covered in playing sand. We could watch the kids play from the cottage deck while simultaneously taking in the gorgeous view of the lake. The view of the beach/lake is absolutely outstanding and very well maintained by Bayshore. We easily spent the day on the beach which is just across the road, making it easy for snack trips back to the cottage. The beach had beautiful sand and supplied loungers and chairs. The water was so clear and clean and no water shoes were needed. In the evening we would barbecue as the sun went down and the kids played in sight at the park. After dinner the family would make our way up the hill to the community fire pit. This area was very well landscaped and spacious. There would always be a nice fire, that we would bring marshmallows to and make s’mores for dessert. Sleeping was easy, since everyone had a full day with a lot of action. The 2 story cottage we stayed in was beautiful and spacious. It was brand new, had a large hot water tank, was clean and well sealed but still had a great cottage feel. Lol the TV must be older then me, but who wants to waist there time on a screen anyways. The Bayshore owners were very friendly and when they saw that we had small children offered some side bumpers, so they wouldn’t fall out of the bed at night.

One essential was that the food land grocery store was 9 minutes away, and with a Tims in the plaza. We didn’t need to waist space in the car on food. We just took a trip in the beginning after arrival and packed the fridge.

All in all five stars, and will be booking again next year!

We spent the weekend here and had a wonderful time! The hostess and host were very accommodating and there was a play area for kids and us adults to play volleyball. The cottage itself had a full kitchen with utensils so we really appreciated this ! And the canon fire added a nice touch for us to gather around and make friends. This is in the Town of Wiarton which is about an hour away from the Grotto , so we enjoyed all of Tobermory. The lake front by the cottage also has seating area compliments the host Great sunsets thank you for a wonderful time

My partner and I stayed in one of the cottages with our 5 children for a four-night summer getaway. The cottages are clean, comfortable and cozy. The owner and family are wonderful kind-hearted people who accommodated our every need. This getaway was phenomenal for myself and family, we enjoyed every minute of our visit. The beautiful waterfront view with beach access, the play park with a sandbox in front of the cottage, firepit for roasting marshmallow at night. Not to mention, this location is easily accessible to local outings such as, Sauble Falls, Bruce Trails and Spirit Conservation Area. It was amazing, perfect for all ages.

We met a lot of other families; our children enjoyed every minute of it. Everyone was positive with such a happy and infectious attitude.
Chris and Christina were exceptional hostess.

We will be going back again!

This family run resort is amazing. My family and I have been visiting Bayshore Cottages for the last four years and we are always pleased with the quality of service, scenic views, and it’s accessibly to other local adventures.

Chris and Christina are gracious hosts. We had an incredible two weeks this summer, filled with adventures, relaxing days on the beach and beautiful sunsets.
Our children enjoyed playing volleyball, hanging out at the park and roasting marshmallows by the fire.

Thank you so much for the great memories.

We enjoyed four wonderful days at Bayshore Cottages! The lovely campfire evenings and days spent at the beach made our visit! We stayed in one of the cabins with a fellow couple and found it very spacious, clean and conveniently located. We even enjoyed a day visit to Sauble Falls and Sauble Beach with information provided from the owners. We would highly recommend visiting and cannot wait to return next year!

We loved staying at Bayshore Cottages! We had so much fun enjoying the lovely beach! Nightly campfires and access to a volleyball court are a great perk! We had a comfy cabin to stay in for the week with close friends. It fit four people very comfortably! The wonderful owners were friendly and very helpful in providing us with direction to nearby attractions, such as Tobemory. I look forward to staying here again soon!

I recently stayed in July with my family of four, two children ages 9 & 6. This is now our 3rd stay at Bayshore Cottages! Our experiences continue to be great and a memorable time! Every time we find something new to do with the family! Chris and Christina run a great family style environment and are very welcoming. They are great hosts and I feel they go above and beyond. Best part is that my children had many other kids to play with and they were never bored even when we spent entire days on the property. It was great meeting new families ans creating lasting friendships and memories. This year we made a trip to Big Bay to have some great ice cream and skipped stones at Canada's Stone Skipping Capital. It's only about 10-15 minutes down the road. We also spent an afternoon at Story Book Park in Owen Sound about 35 minutes away. Although it is geared to younger children my 9 year old said she still had a blast and it was enjoyable. I feel that may have been her 1st and only time going. Bayshore Cottages continues to be on our vacation list each summer for years to come. My children said the love it there and didn't want to leave. Next year we will definitely be considering to do a two week rental than our normal one week so it can feel like a vacation as it is quite the distance from home! Thanks again Chris and Christina for providing a great family experience.

While writing, I am wondering what can I add to the many others excellent reviews to this wonderful place; it is likely useless, but writing reviews make me feel important, so here I am.
My wife, I and our children (12 and 15) just came back from a week of vacation at this Ontarian paradise; we had a 3 rooms+kitchen+bathroom cottage, with fans, TV, microwave, BBQ, deck with table, muskokoa chairs, stove and oven. We found our cottage very clean. The best was the view from the deck, that everyday allow us to have our meals while watching at the splendid bay.
Even better, the private beach with longchairs, chairs, hammocks, picnic table, kayaks, families. When tired to be in the lake, we started playing volleyball; for younger kids, there is a nice playground in the sand; unfortunately, my children are too old. In the night, the owners always arranged the fire pit. You cannot avoid to make friends in this place, even if you are Shrek.
We also did many excursions to the nearby gems, such as the Bruce Cave (5 minutes away), the Grotto (45 minutes), Tobermory (1 hour), Owen Sound (1 hour); the nearby city of Wiarton, has a groundhog, just as in the movie. And the ice cream is so good at the Big Bay.
I liked many thing at this place, some are because of the great locations, some others are thanks to the very impressive work, skills and dedication of the owners. Furthermore, the cost of the stay is really fair and reasonable.
I don't like than now it will be hard to find other places to explore around Ontario and Canada, because we don't think that we can find a better place.

Wonderfully clean cottages, exceptional owners, beautiful waterfront, lots to do in the area, very family friendly. Cottages had everything we needed for our stay. Owners are very familiar with the surrounding area. Highly recommend for those who like cottaging and being outdoors.
