Lie in the hammock on your balcony listening to the waves crash onto the beach. Watch the surfers in the morning. Snorkel right out front. Early morning walks on the beach. We stayed in Q3. Spectacular apartment. Will definitely return!
Villa Tropical is a top-notch destination with no downsides unless you want hotel-style accommodations with hot and cold running servants. The units are totally modern, squeaky-clean, well-furnished and maintained, and several are within spitting distance (if you spit well) of the high-tide line. Even those...More

VT Main (BL, TR, TL), Villa Rivero and Bajandas units have the shortest distance to the swimming area outfront and best views of the blue hole coral reef but agreed, sometimes having a pool option too is golden with kids. Mother Nature sets the schedule for calm vs rough waters and though we can estimate calmer in summer than in winter, it all depends on the weather. If however it is super tough swell surfing time of year, best to watch not snorkel. If it's calm you don't need to venture far from shore to see live coral and an assortment of sea life. The swimming hole always offers a protective refuge for bathers but expect a current, which in itself can be loads of fun. One can always drive the short distance to jobos beach or crashboat for more sandy bottoms. There are beaches best known for learning to surf and those like shacks known for its miles and miles of untouched wilderness. Our kids, 7&9 love the Long Beach walks exploring for shells and bamboo and other ocean collectibles. Calm is ok, but they prefer waves to jump in. Booties are advisable as well as encouraging doing our best not to touch the coral or sea plant life but just in case, nice to have on. Always wear your mask so you can keep an eye on your underwater surroundings and you will have a great time. Rent an SUP and explore the reef from above the surface. Walk over to tropical trail rides and enjoy a shacks beach horseback ride adventure. Call reservations and talk more about when you are planning to visit and we can best advise on available units and their features for families.
