We stayed in the penthouses on the 2nd floor, with a beautiful view of the ocean from our living room and outside patio. Our unit was spacious, had a great layout for the bedrooms and was very nicely furnished with quality furniture and decor, plus the kitchen is well appointed for cooking. We immediately felt at home when we stayed here. I love the 2 bathrooms so that everyone can get showered after the beach quickly. Master shower has great water pressure and a handheld shower too (great for getting sand off) It was just our family of 4, but 6 people would be able to rent this unit and feel comfortable.

The grounds of the resort are lush, tropical and peaceful, great for a walk around during the day or night. At night the paths are light by tiki torches for a true tropical feeling. The resort is very quiet and you can hear birds when the windows are open.

We were close enough to see the kids pool from our room, but it was never loud or noisy. The kids pool is usually pretty quiet and there were times when there was no one even in the pool. The kids pool at the Villas is the best kids pool we have been to, as the area around the pool has a tropical feeling.

The beach is stunning, soft sand, and small waves for the most part. The beach chairs and umbrella service make a day at the beach very enjoyable and relaxing. The beach is long enough to get a nice walk in from end to end.

While there are no restaurants on the property, that didn't matter as there are lots of amazing restaurants all within walking distance (3 hotels nearby and the shops at Wailea are next door). We cooked a fair amount of meals at home as we have young kids, and also so our vacation wasn't crazy expensive because of eating out all the time. I don't usually like to cook on vacation, but we had the great table for 4 on our large patio that there was never a wait or reservation needed to get to on time. We didn't use the BBQ on this trip, but have in the past and it is super handy to have your own BBQ on the patio. There was also a day bed on the patio that was lovely to lay on and hang out with my husband on after the kids went to bed.

The staff are all extremely friendly and many have worked at the resort for years. We have been coming to the resort for years now, it is that good!

We loved our stay in B101. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Service for additional towels and a check of the a/c was quick and responsive to the requests. Could not ask for more. Thank you for making our stay fabulous. Mahalo!

Wailea Beach Villas is beautiful in every way. The location on the Wailea path is perfectly situated, the gorgeous units have a lot of privacy despite being compact on the property and the amenities are wonderful. The customer service is best in class -- HIGHLY recommend!

PROS
1) Wailea beach location
2) Villas themselves are spacious with good sized lanais
3) Great ocean view
4) Friendly checkin staff and provide Globalist members with a bottle of wine, banana bread and a couple of small toys for the kids in our party

CONS
1) All of the furniture is very much worn out and need of refurbishment and replacement. Lumpy beds, completely worn out couches with no support. Drawers in bedroom chest make loud screeching noises every time you access. Master shower head is below my head (i'm 6 foot 2) as used to be the standard in hotel rooms through the 90s.

2) PH 301 is along the property wall with the Grand Wailea next door. The Grand Wailea has their garbage dumpsters right there and starting at 8 am every day you hear loudly and see tractors bringing garbage to dump into the big dumpsters

3) While this is a condo rental property so not expecting daily housekeeping- one of our little ones had an overnight accident so we needed a new set of sheets for one of the beds. We had to call housekeeping multiple times and being told everything from they don't have a replacement set of king bed sheets (really??!?) to housekeeping is not till Sunday.

Overall, none of these things a deal breaker and i wouldn't be making a big deal out of them if it was just a regular vacation rental on VRBO or Airbnb. But as a hyatt globalist, was expecting a truly premium experience when paying almost $2k/night for a 3 bedroom ocean view villa at this property.

Response from Destination By Hyatt, Marketing at Wailea Beach Villas
Responded Mar 31, 2023
Mahalo for your stay and review of Wailea Beach Villas and the exact three-bedroom ocean view residence you stayed in. I am happy to hear that you appreciated the Globalist greeting that included local wine, fresh banana bread, and fun toys for the kids. It is saddening to hear that you did not find the furnishings in PH301 up to par. We have done a close inspection of the couches and mattresses and also shared your comments with the owners and they will be doing a full refurbishment of this residence with a preferred luxury interior designer. Additionally, we will review your comments regarding the linen replacements in our next housekeeping team meeting to see where the ball may have been dropped. It is our standard procedure to offer a mid-stay cleaning for all guests staying 6+ nights with us, but we would absolutely make exceptions for scenarios such as yours requiring quick attention with bedding replacement. We hope you give the Wailea Beach Villas another try for a return vacation on Maui and would love the opportunity to provide you with exceptional service and accommodations. Mahalo, Wailea Beach Villas Guest Services Team Part of Destination by Hyatt

Our rooms were just OK. We had a penthouse garden view and asked if we could upgrade to an ocean view figuring less than 50% occupancy rate at the Villas. Unfortunately they couldn't accommodate us. We saw earlier reviews pre-covid where they were very accommodating to upgrades. Beds were hard and pillows were too puffy. Penthouse name is very misleading as we were at ground level and thought we would have a much higher floor. Front desk person checking us in and during our stay was not very personable. Often on the phone so we had to wait. Overall we expected more for the money we paid. We heard other hotels in the area were drastically reducing their rates by as much as 80% but we were locked in at the rate we paid earlier in the year. This did not sit well with us knowing that. The hotel should have made adjustments to reflect the current state of tourism to the island.

Accommodations were spacious and luxurious and the whole family could spread out and relax. Having the Shops at Wailea across the street was super convenient with restaurants, shopping, and even a market. We loved having a full kitchen and being able to have a leisurely breakfast in our apartment. It was also a very short walk along the beach path to the Four Seasons, Marriott, etc if we wanted to dine at their restaurants. Pool/beach staff were so attentive and we never had to worry about finding a chair, unlike some of the larger resorts. In the end we paid less for a large beachside apartment then we would have for a comparable resort.

Just returned from a relaxing vacation at Wailea Beach Villas We were 2 families traveling together, and we stayed in a 3/4 bedroom penthouse. The location of the penthouse unit was just over the family pool overlooking the entire property.

The property is lovely and just what you would picture Hawaii would look like. Beautiful waterfalls, amazing pools, and lit tiki torch pathways leading to a beautiful adult pool and beach. There is a up-to-date workout room and a game room with a pool table and ping pong table, however it closes at 6pm (a little early IMO).

Jay and the rest of the guys work hard at the pool, providing towels and water throughout the day. The property is kept extremely clean, especially the restrooms by the pool.

The location of the property is fantastic being the closest accommodation to the shops of Wailea. Loved the open air lobby and all the front desk staff were friendly and helpful when needed. There is free parking which is nice as well.

I would not hesitate to visit the Wailea Beach Villas, and we hope to return soon.

The hotel was well located near food and shopping but there were no on site facilities. The furniture in the living room and guest room needs updating but it he master bedroom bed was comfortable I would Blu stay here for an hour extended stay. The kitchen is enormous but there are only two bathrooms so having the additional den pull out is of little use.

Wailea Beach Villas was top notch. Exactly what we were looking for during Covid...not crowded, very quiet and we were able to enjoy spending time with our family in the large condo. Beach service was top notch -- never had to wait for or fight for a chair or umbrella...most places charge for this service, but at Wailea Beach Villas it was complimentary. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The property was well maintained, updated and absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend

I would have to say, this property is beautiful. Our villa was beautiful with high end appliances. However, the air conditioning unit broke down 5 times during our stay. Then the cable box in the masterbed room went out and the maintenance person didn't know how to fix it. Then the ice maker broke and the resort provided us with bagged ice. Ignition switch to the beautiful Viking bbq was glitchy, we had to have maintenance come and fix that as well. The resort compensated us for all these issues, which was nice. However, it was our first vacation since the COVID lockdown, I just wanted to enjoy my vacation with my family.. I did not want to deal with repairmen. If I wanted to deal with that for 9 days, I would have stayed home.

We brought down a bag of snacks and drinks from our condo to the pool with no problem. (Just stop at Costco near the airport on your way in to stock up!)

We stayed at the beautiful Wailea Villas with our one and a half year old granddaughter. We rented a crib and high chair as our villa did not include baby items. We used the family pool with her but spent most of our time on the beach. It was fabulous. Our unit included a plunge pool which made me extremely nervous with a toddler. But with 4 very responsible adults we found we had no problem monitoring her whereabouts at all times. The Villas and their very close proximity to the pools/beach/shopping and dining (all within walking distance) was the absolute perfect spot for us with our granddaughter. We could access our unit easily from the beach when we needed lunch or it was nap time. We really enjoyed having the fullly stocked kitchen as well. And we loved it’s peacefulness compared to the noisy and crowded hotels along Wailea Beach. Have fun! It’s a beautiful spot!

Where are the aforementioned tennis courts located?
Answer from abofill

There are no tennis courts at the villas. Driving down through Wailea Ike Dr, towards the Wailea shops turn right to Wailea Ike Pl. and you'll find Wailea Tennis Club. As a reference, Wailea Blue Golf Course neighbors the Tennis Club.
