We stayed 2 weeks in a cabin at the yellow house. We had a very comfortable, clean room at the second floor with windows on three sides and an attached spacious bathroom. Off the room was a balcony with 2 chairs and 2 hammocks overlooking the garden. Downstairs was a spacious, well equipped kitchen. The grounds are beautiful with lots...

2 friends and I spent 10 days staying in the River cabin at the Yellow House. It was a wonderful period enjoying the verdant gardens with ponds, plentiful birds and forest trails. The Garzon family sisters were extremely welcoming and helpful. We don't look for luxury but want cleanliness, relative peace and quiet, a working shower and comfortable bed, and...

What Yellowhouse (or Hacienda San Vicente) may lack in terms of luxury (although it is certainly comfortable enough!) is more than made up for in terms of the owners welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful nature. Its buildings are surrounded by lush vegetation which is positively teeming with birdlife. The tracks which lead from the property up into the hills provide...

What a tranquil place. Only had one night just not long enough. Had cabin next to house with hammock outside. Im not a birder but saw at least 7 different bird species along with the delightful hummingbirds which greet you for breakfast with their feeders within touching distance.Breakfast was fresh exotic fruit, fresh eggs and homemade jam with Ines attentive...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights recently on an independent birding trip to Ecuador. The owner, Maria, could not have been more helpful or kinder. From bringing us umbrellas when it started to rain, to ordering us taxis and recommending restaurants. We stayed upstairs in one of the cabins. We were the only guests at the time....

I visited Mindo mainly for the birdwatching in the area, and to visit a different ecosystem. I absolutely loved Yellow House. The sisters who you deal with, and their mother, are so nice and helpful. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Mindo because of this alone. When you factor in the lovely porch with the hummingbird feeders...

This is a great place to do some nature hiking and bird watching. This place is comfortable and clean and the owners are very nice. Don't get this confused with a four star hotel, what makes this nice is the nature, and the friendly staff. We stayed in the yellow house building which was nice, but smells musty. That's what...

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days during our visit to the region of Mindo. There is a large nature reserve on the domain of this hotel, so you can easily spend a day just walking here. The cabins are large and clean and the owners are really nice. They can even make you a packed lunch...

Tucked away from the center of Mindo, a pleasant 10 mins walk to a beautiful and private paradise. Twin sisters Maria-I, Maria Helena, their mom & their 3 beautiful German Shepards, especially Rex & Dante made our 3 nights stay very enjoyable. Beautiful property with a lot of trails & protected land. Saw many birds especially close to the house....

The yellow house is really an amazing place. The habitat they have preserved is filled with Toucans, Agoutis, frogs, and wonderful birds. I saw two cock of the rock birds back on the forest trails. There are also monkeys and bears but I didn't run into them the day I spent on the trails. Don't rush through the cattle pastures...
