Nice community areas with kitchen, its on the beach, private hostel and cozy. The staff is very friendly and make you feel like home, and breakfast was really good. Everything was so convenient at the place and the price was really good for what you paid for.

I stayed almost 2 weeks at Viejamar Hostel near Puerto Lopez. I didn't want to stay that long in the beginning but I quickly changed my further travel plans when I saw this beautiful paradise. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, I immediatly felt like home. You cannot hear any noise except the sea, which is just a few...

Great hostel, with amazing beach location. Bunch of volunteers around with whom i became good friends and they introduced me to some of the locals. Really nice laidback, surfer atmosphere. Great location for surfing as well. The only thing is the hostel could be cleaner, but I guess thats part of the surfer hostel experience

I stayed in Viejamar with my girlfriend for 8 nights and I learned to love the place. These things are reason to this: 1. Hardware: The hostel is a beautiful place, created with lots of love. I stayed with my boyfriend in Viejamar in July. When I entered the door I knew that's the right place to hang out and feel like home. Everything is made with love for details. You'll find enough space to chill and lots of art everywhere. The cabañas and dorms are cosy with wooden floor, good beds and its own bathrooms....

Nice beachfront, nice waves, nice pool, nice kitchen, nice bedrooms, nice crew of volonteers... What else? Don't hesitate a second go there if you're heading to Las Tunas. Super relaxed and peaceful atmosphere for solo / group of friends / couple travelers.

It's the perfect place to relax, but also to explore the area of Puerto Lopez, surf in the many spots in the area and enjoy the nightlife in Montañita. Clean rooms, nice atmosphere, a swimming pool, an amazing view of the ocean, direct access to beach...I would definitely recommend this place.

If your are looking for a beautiful spot, with an uncrowded surf spot in the back yard, that´s the place. The owner Rodrigo and his volunteers, created a wonderful spot, which offers cabines, a beautiful yard with hamocks, a pool and a great lookout. I enjoyed the familiar atmosphere and Rodrigo can take you to the best spots around.
