Booked this motel due to a flight misshap booked and paid direct over the phone.
When i arrived i was treated at reception like i was going to damage the joint!
Reception guy asked for the ID of credit card holder and Credit card before i could check into room.
It was my farthers card he made me phone and wake him to send details through. Disrespecful after payment had been made and processesd from card before arriving.
Reception had a major problem that sending photos of proof of ID was going to make things difficult.
Bad customer service felt un welcome and a burden apon there premises.
Once entering unit 7 bed was comfy shower was good little run down buy very very noisey windows that did not close opend to traffic next to a busy road also herd every footstep and bump from above and beside me.
Will not recomend this motel there is better service and quality for money close by.

Heads up!

Booked to be close to the airport. .. room clean and comfy bed but service was appalling. .. he couldn't find my booking when we arrived. ..no apology to us or the other guests waiting.
WiFi very limited and they all argued over giving us a little more. .. the only people we got a smile from was the chambermaids! !

Rundown Motel complex & rooms, No WiFi, No info material in rooms, rooms are not cleaned daily if you stay more than 1x day, mould in bathroom and shower, bed sheets had spots and stains, neighbours stereo thumping base all the 3x nights we stayed, Reception hung up on me at 10pm when I rang to ask them to sort out the neighbour who played thumping music most of the night and then again startup 6.30am..kids running riot outside along decks and carpark until 9pmish in the pitch dark...you only get a small sachet of milk powder when you arrive..no real milk...Only thing this place has positive is the location, close to rainbows end. although there are 3 other hotels in the same close vicinity be it one was for quarantining the Covid19 travellers!.

Had to fix the TV, sink so I could have a shave and their was no tv remote.
When I went looking for the tv remote to see if it was under the beds I found a lot of stuff that I wish not to say I saw.
My room got serviced only twice in the five nights I was there.
Not impressed.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!
I thought I would treat myself, a couple of nights in a spa bath unit......OMG, greeted by over flowing rubbish bins, unsafe stairs to my room. Walked in, THE SMELL! Thought to myself come on give it a chance. Flaking paint, dirty walls carpet with funny stains. I didn't want to think what that could be. Dust every where and I haven't made it to the bathroom yet! The toilet was dirty and that spa bath......rusty and dusty!
Back out slowly and leave, is all I kept saying to myself. The bedroom was upstaries, didn't look very hard as soon as I saw the piece of material being used as a curtain that was it to the office I went.
"Your rating says 4 stars" I said to the man that just 10 mins earlier spoke perfect english and now seems to be having a hard time understanding me. "I'm very unhappy with my room, it's dirty and smelly" 10 mins later getting nowhere, "I'm leaving, not staying here"
Needless to say I was charged for the 2 nights!! This ruined my weekend away and the long drive back home was full of how do people get away with this! I have later discovered that they rated themselves 4 star and maybe this is exceptable where they come from but here in NZ I think we expect a certain amount of service and standards. $280 down in pocket I would urge anybody looking at this place to give it a very wide berth.

This is one of the most disgusting places I have ever stayed at. There are plaster patches all over the wall. It smells like bleach, there is rubbish everywhere and they even have a list in the compendium of costs if you steal anything. Nothing is clean and you feel like you need a shower if you touch anything. The stairs are not stable and the lady on the front desk didn't seem like she wanted to be there.

We stayed with my partner n parents and 3 month baby n had booked for family unit. When arrived we were greeted by a not very friendly man. We had a two story unit upstairs so they first thing I noticed was the unsafe steps with my 3 month child, as walking up the steps I noticed the rotting appliances outside. When we got in our room we were hit by an over powering scent. We then checked out the bedding situation which we had a double bed and a fold out couch which wasn't up to even sitting standard let alone a bed. Although we thought we would give it go to see if was comftable, as my dad went to sit on it, it collapsed. We went down n spoke to the guy and said we were not happy about the fold out couch is there another room that could accommodate us. He said no but would u like mattress to go on top we said no the whole mechanism of the couch is broken. He offered us another room with another fold out couch that wasn't great either. The room wasn't very clean n very dated furniture. No smoke alarms, the bath had a moldy seal around it. Once finding about their bed bug history I was out of there.Once we told the guy he made no apologies after he's asked why we were leaving, he actually didn't say a word after we had told him. There was also rubbish all around the place. Horrible experience, glad we were able to find a nice room elsewhere

Our group of four were looking for a hotel near the Aukland airport for an overnight stay before we hopped on a plane back to the states. Rayland Motel was able to accommidate us in a two story family unit. The motel looked a little tired and had a tall security gate around it .That should have been our first clue. We agreed to stay because it was only one night and they had room for all of us on short notice. As we dragged our luggage up to the second floor and into our room , the first thing we noticed was there was no air conditioning. The second floor loft of our unit was HOT and stuffy. There was a fan in the corner of the room so I went over to see if I could open a window to get some air circulating. The tiny window, which had no screen, was level with the state highway. Ugh!! There was no way I was going to breathe car exhaust and listen to highway noise for $159 a night. I could see the hotel was attempting to increase their image because they had put some nice white linens on the bed. Thank God for those white linens because they highlighted the lively bed bug crawling across the bed!!! We were out of there in a flash!
The motel gave us a full refund and we ran back to The Ventura Hotel where we had stayed our first night in NZ. The Ventura was more than accomidating and we got a nice hotel with breakfast for a lesser price. They also had a free airport shuttle!

WARNING-To all whanau and friends I honestly advise you NOT to stay at this place. Arrived to one of three rooms that we booked to a toe jammy smelly room. The guy come and sprayed. Later found two jugs didn't work and a chair was broken. Tried to contact reception. No answer. Around 8.30 in the morning the cleaner turned up and their room key went missing. The kids were still packing! Went to reception who charged $30 for missing key and $40 for broken chair. After arguing with Preet at reception over cost the clown wouldnt let us speak to her manager. Conveniently he had a day off. My sister called the police and reported the theft of $70. Funnily when I put one of their chairs into my car the manager arrived and the full deposit of $100 refunded. Do not trust these people. There seems to be a scam happening with incidentals. We have enough witnesses so defamation from the management of this place I can assure you won't happen. NO STARS. NO CIRCLES for this place but I do need one to submit this review
