I was due to attend a conference at this hotel so I read others comments. Hmmm do I really want to stay there?? Well, let me tell you, it's not that bad. The staff are very friendly. The rooms, yeah they are very dated, a new lick of paint and new furniture would just add so much to this property. After talking to the lady who arranged the hotel for us, she informed us the hotel had new owners and are in the process of updating. I wish them all the best with their future. The bed was comfortable. TV worked. Bathroom very clean. I was very impressed.

The rooms are very run down and need of many repairs. The white lace curtains are mouldy and one room the sheets had mould on them. Bathroom was very run down and the floor was dirty in it. There is no free wifi in this motel. The location is very central to a lot of areas but not a clean room.

We chose this hotel because our friend family have booked here already for early morning departure to the airport.

Anyway, the hotel is under general condition, there is body hair on the toilet ring cover just we first come into the room. Bathroom condition is poor. And No free wifi for this hotel. We have visited NZ around with enjoyed free wifi except this place.

My wife and I wished the night quickly pass then we could fly back our home to clean up totally. Never visit this place again.

This is our worst motel experience ever. My boyfriend booked this hotel and I joined him at the last minute. The motel is in a miserable condition. When we walked into our room, we were shocked to see few blood stains on our towel. The bathroom was in a shocking condition and we could see stains on the wall. There were all kinds of weird people hanging around in the hotel. This place is not for families. The customer experience was non-existent and we were told to pay for wifi. Our entire holiday to New Zealand was ruined and I ended up crying all the way on my flight back. Our romantic getaway turned into a nightmare and we regret staying in this motel. The Management of this motel doesn't care a bit and the hotel is in a horrible condition.

Have just spent a weekend at this hotel as part of a conference. It has been a very pleasant stay. The receptionist was wonderful and in fact I would say these staff were some of the friendliest and helpful I have encountered in recent times. There was a real sense of service as at every meal a smiling staff member walked around checking that your meal was to your satisfaction etc. The room was comfortable and included a desk, although my one comment would be I would have liked an extra place to put our second suitcase. It was cozy with an oil heater and electric blankets. Our room was clean and we found the food in the restaurant good, especially dinner (loved having plenty of vegetables and salads available).

My parents recently stayed at this hotel and the service they received was terrible. Upon checking in to their room they pulled back the sheets to find pubic hairs throughout the bed. The room was basic and decor was average. On their second night they decided to have dinner at the Hotel and after ordering it took 2 hours for their meal to arrive.
They left the restaurant to go back to their room and asked if the meal could be sent there only to be told they would have to pay additional charges for room service, until of course they pointed out they had been waiting an hour (at that stage) so they agreed they would waive any charges and the meal would not be far away. Another hour later the meal arrived. Upon checking out (after 3 nights stay) they raised the issue of waiting for their meal and were offered a continental breakfast, little bit late considering they were actually checking out. In my opinion they should have been offered this at the time.
I would recommend looking at other places if you are thinking of staying here, service is below average, rooms are much the same.

What a hole! Dirty, broken, run down and way over priced. One of our party had to refuse their room as it was basically uninhabitable. Don't go near the dining room which has all the ambience of a secure ward in a mental hospital.....but not as clean.
The pic shows my face flannel before use, not that it actually got used.
Don't under any circumstances book this motel, I am sure the women in our party were the only ones there not charging by the hour!
Sleep in your car or get arrested and spend a night in a prison cell, you would be cleaner and safer!

Dirty is a good word to describe this Hotel.
Upon arrival we had to ask them to vacuum the lounge as it was covered in dirt & I don't think they have ever cleaned under our behind the beds, there were no towels in the room. Unfortunately it wasn't the only time we had to ask for towels, there was 2 other occasions they didn't leave any, and I'm not sure what they class as housekeeping but in the 10 days we stayed there the bathroom was not cleaned once. Whilst we knew we weren't staying in a 5 star hotel, I do think it's reasonable to expect a clean room & it was far from it

This was the noisiest and dirtiest hotel i have ever stayed in. Doors slamming at all hours and a vacuum cleaner outside my door at 3am plus the doof doof of a noisy neighbor at 5.45am on Sunday morning. The place is run down and dirty, i even found someone else's hair in my bed would not recommend the Allenby to anyone who wants sleep or somewhere clean. I stupidly booked and paid for 2 nights over the phone but left after the first night and even though the desk clerk was apologetic they would not refund the second nights fee.
