We booked a waterfront cabin with a kitchen and bathroom to have a little weekend getaway. It was a perfect weekend. Quiet location, beautiful view, and not far to drive from Auckland. Feeling very refreshed. Would definitely recommend :)

Perfect as our tent was pitched RIGHT by the beach. The facilities are clean and you have the use of free kayaks which is fab. Our pitch was a bit cramped but the beach front location made up for it. Everyone was friendly and a good, fun atmosphere.

This is a lovely beach front holiday camp. Thankfully only booked for one night in a self-contained cabin. This was a very basic, and overall grubby cabin. The toilet and worn out couch had not been cleaned, some lights didn't work and the smoke alarm had been removed. The double bed was miserably uncomfortable with the mattress springs able to... We are very sorry to hear your experience during your stay in one of our units, we will be bringing the cleanliness up with the cleaning staff at our staff meeting on Monday. Obviously this is not good by our standards and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. In regards to the bed, we do apologise, after the... More

Right on the beach and the boat ramp down the road, this is a great spot. Also super close to Matakana, Warkworth, Snells Beach and Omaha. The facilities are amazing, and very clean! It was Easter weekend when we went and it is a popular spot for families, they had a lot activities to keep them entertained too. But for... More

Beautiful waterfront location. Great clean facilities with a fun 'frontier community' facade. Free kayaks. Bin area was a bit smelly but otherwise no negative comments. Would definitely recommend. Thanks

Right on the Estuary and perfect for relaxing or enjoying camp amenities (free kayak use etc).New facilities behind old town facade were excellent.ferry to Kawau island a short walk to jetty and taking the mail boat trip a great day out. Mix of quite old permanent caravans and tourers. Great atmosphere.

Stayed for 1 night in our campervan while touring NZ, excellent holiday park, very family friendly. Free water sports equipment, great kitchen, clean and tidy, would recommend. Laundry $4 per wash. Lovely views from the edge of site over the water, many people had their boats parked around the back.

Spent 10 days at Sandspit Holiday Park. Great kitchen and toilet/shower facilities. Very clean and new (3 summers old). Even have family rooms for showers/toilets which is great! Open all hours! Good gazebo/BBQ area which is free to use. Facilities also include use of canoes(when the tide is in) and a trampoline. Every night the camp puts on a lolly... More

We usually camp at more remote locations with almost no facilities so it was a real treat to stay here, we got a spot right on the waterfront & enjoyed the views. As it's an estuary it's not quite as nice when the tide's out but there are plenty of other beaches to visit in the area. The bathroom &... More
