Short stay in the hotel. Wanted to do the 8hr walk but because of snow it was canceled. So we did a 2hr walk 1hr to waterfall and back again. Lovely views from the cabinets on to the vulcano's. Would go back there any time.
We stayed at the resort for 2 nights at the resort in the Labour weekend 24/25 October. The stay was comfortable. All amenities were good, although provision of free wifi and sky tv would have been appreciated.

Best ask at the big store where bus will prob drop you off, where is best place to thumb a lift to Whakapapa. Its not that far, just a few kilometers, will be other people travelling up to the chateau and the skotel for sure, just hold up a sign, be plenty people go there.
