This is an excellent stop off bed for the night. Our unit was a self contained add-on to the owners home, and was super clean and comfortable. Shower was excellent. The garden was exquisite. Well priced accommodation. Free wifi was limited, but I bought more for a nominal charge. Murchison is like stepping back in time. Charming. Not a lot... More

Beautiful place with well maintained gardens. Jenny the host was very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable for a quick stop. Just wish the town had more to offer so we decided to stop at the Red Barn animal park the morning we left about 10klms from the town.

we stopped at Murchison our route from Fran Josef to Kaikoura. The unit was well equipped with everything supplied that you would need and heating was adequate and plenty of hot water for showers. Beds were comfy and u it was very clean. Cabins in nice garden setting with owner just next door. Car is not directly with apartment, so... More

We stayed for one night in the studio room which was exactly as advertised. It was clean and comfortable with no cooking facilities beyond a fridge, kettle and toaster, a couple of plates, bowls, mugs etc but that was fine for what we needed. We had a very basic meal at the local pub a couple of minutes walk away.... More

We arrived early as we had originally booked 2 nights but needed to stay longer on the West coast so missed the first night. They managed to sell our unused night so we only had to pay for the one. The place is exactly as represented on the photo's and description. It was good for our needs, spacious with everything... More

Stayed one night in January. Very comfortable room and a picturesque location. Maybe the sunshine helped! Very close to Murchison centre but restaurants thin on the ground for dinner. Cowshed was closed during our visit as chef had a hand injury! River cafe not open Monday to Wednesday. Only Commercial hotel's bar menu and the Hampton open. You may be... More

Stayed here one night only, in the Kea Studio apartment. This room is no use to you if you want to cook an evening meal from scratch, as there's no room in the wash-basin for cleaning anything, and only a microwave and toaster for cooking, but it is a lovely quiet location, room was immaculately clean, bed was very comfortable,... I wish I could have time to read review from Melmain62 before I made a booking. Some of the things didn't changed since he wrote his review(2013). In my case I made my booking before 9pm. I could check the box during booking with estimated time of my arrival so I did it. At the final location I helped myself... More

Convenient and comfortable, although chilly. Perfectly suitable for a small family or group. Great facilities, including warm blankets and a powerful heat pump for the chilly nights. Easy to park and then grab the keys from what is best described as self-check in! But made it easy when arriving after dark.
