This hotel offers basic comfortable accommodation, a little dated with ancient huge TV sets, but it is close to Fox Glacier for walking/helicopter trips to the Glacier. The surrounding accommodation at Fox is of similar standard, choice seems fairly limited there.

the reception staff were kind and helpful when i arrived later than i expected to and frazzled from the drive. when i had to make a quick departure due to teenage miss sleeping late despite my frequent "suggestions" that she move it, there was also no problem for the staff. i wasn't there long enough to make a more complete...

Had one night here and it was enough. Young girl at reception kept going back and forth with me as to an outside line charge that she couldn't answer. Asked to speak to the manager and was told they had already discussed it and it wouldn't be $5.00 or anything like that!! Our room was outside in a separate wing,...

We weren't in the hotel, we were in a tiny but clean room with a bed and washbowl in. It was pretty cramped. The restaurants nearby were fantastic and Fox Glacier was well worth seeing as is the rainforest pathway leading up to it. Heartlands Hotel was part of a full package which was booked for us. The porter struggled...

The hotel is simple and a bit dated. Good for a stopover of one night. Room is clean but not much view as ours is facing other people's home. A bit warm in the afternoon sun too. Good to go outside for an early morning walk to have a view of the snow capped peaks.

Welcoming was perfect, a lovely clean room with outstanding views. Delightful breakfast and evening meal. There was so many choices on the menu, I felt spoilt. Staff so helpful and always a smile and thank you. Recommend it

We stayed at this hotel in Jan/14, and the standard was appalling!!The security was very bad, no locks on the windows and the door had no sufficient secure lock, especially being on the ground floor. The room was tatty and very tired, not at all welcoming. The shower had a huge hole in the wall, which was dangerous, and no safety in the shower...

The guy in the reception was very kind to replace our room , however the place looks so sad and when we chose to spend time in the lobby the reception came to turn off the lights around 11pm. Way two expansive for such a basic place. Although , the room was very clean. I feel I want to get...

The room was clean and of a reasonable size. The bathroom was nice. There is just one hour a day free WiFi (per room) although it's just $5 to make that 24hrs. It was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed at in New Zealand and didn't feel worth that extra money. There was also a 3% credit card...
