This was the best place we stayed in 16 days our touring the north and south islands. We'd booked a really beautifully appointed family suite - spacious, quiet, warmly cosy and very clean. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom excellent, the compact kitchen had everything we needed and fresh flowers were a lovely touch, and Deborah was a charming and...

Best place we stayed in all of New Zealand, south and north islands. Well appointed, spacious, beautiful setting. New New New, not old and refurbished. Deborah was a great hostess. Very convenient to sights, pubs and food. Would highly recommend. We stayed in one of the large rooms in the new building. Take Deborah's tip to go see the glow...

We stayed in a lovely chalet with all the amenities you could want on a short trip. Here for two nights, we stayed cosy and warm with everything on our doorstep. I had asked prior to checking in if a bottle of wine could be arranged in our room as a treat for our anniversary and despite the remote location,...

After a long day of driving and walking, the Fox Glacier Lodge was the perfect end to the day. Beautiful alpine setting with Kea playing in front of the room. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The room itself was very clean, warm and comfortable. Modern furnishings and nice bathroom. The owner was very helpful and went above and...

We stayed for one night in the two room chalet in April 14. It seemed newly done up and was very comfortable. The rooms were well organized, cosy and spotlessly clean. It was conveniently located - walking distance to the visitor centre and the tour operators offices. The free WiFI was welcome. It also had a communal kitchen where you...

We arrived on Easter Sunday when the whole region had already been without power for three days following the cyclone that ripped through the week before. Fortunately they are one of the few places in the town that have their own generators so they had power for hot water and lighting. Despite the difficult circumstances the hosts couldn't have been...

Ideally located close to everything, but set back from the main road avoiding the noise that you would get with some other hotels. It is worth knowing that it is only 3 minutes walk to the meeting point for Fox Glacier tours - a bonus if you are on the early morning tours. Our host was welcoming and gave us...

The bed room was upstairs and the main living room and bathroom on a slightly raised ground floor. Everything you needed was there and the shops restaurants were a stones throw from the lodge. Unusually there was a bath rather than just a shower and after a hard days walking it could come in handy. The rooms were spotless and...
