Stayed one night and loved it. All staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The degustation meal was very good and interesting. Rooms small but adequate and comfortable. Welcoming "bubbly" on arrival which set the mood for the stay. Highly recommended.

Our tour guides, AAT Kings, said that we were going to be spoiled the night we stayed in Franz Josef and he was correct. The rooms were very comfortable and the beds were amazing. The view outside was spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel, especially in comparison to the other ones in the town. The only disappointment that I had...

From the moment you enter the lobby and are handed a warm white washcloth and a cool fruit juice drink you know you are getting special treatment. The atmosphere is natural with lots of wood, including imaginative Maori-inspired sculptures. Each room feels like a treehouse because of the surrounding rainforest. Meals were varied and healthy and service was attentive. I...

My wife and I spent two nights here on our Distant Journeys Highlights of New Zealand and Australia tour. The room was large with two big double beds – the one we used was very comfortable with plush bed linen. The room had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, a large TV, a modern drink making machine, an iron and...

Te Waonui is a modern hotel on the main road. It is no closer to the glacier than any other hotel in the area. The rooms are small, but serviceable. Restaurant is ok and the service is quite good. This is essentially the only high end hotel around...

What a great hotel! Big comfortable room. Ok wifi, lots of outlets. 2 comfortable queen beds. A heated floor in the large bathroom. Either New or newly renovated the place is beautiful and the surroundings are as well. The breakfast buffet had the best coffee we've had in NZ

Very friendly and efficient staff. Nice clean room. The 5 course degustation dinner was excellent. The cultural show at 6 in the bat was well done. They even gave me a rose to hive to my wife as I checked out on Valentines day morning

We stayed as part of a group. Not our favourite hotel a bit too precious prides itself on green policies but forgot customer service. The room was dark, shower dangerously slippy . The so called tasting meal was poor. The staff brought out hot plates but we waited so long for the main course the plates went stone cold. The food...

One of the nicest rooms of our trip. The food at the retreat was AWESOME and the 5 course meal at dinner was purely entertaining. The location was perfect and made an easy trip to the glacier.
