The place is so dirty and they do not change the sheets after people have slept in there ! the owners are rude, talk about their customers behind their backs, and have no idea how to treat their guests do not know how to cook a decent meal. They do not know how to fix anything as we had a...

I stayed at the lodge because of work for several weeks and it is the frst time in my life that I'm so disappointed about an accomodation. We had to bring our own sleeping bags, the mattresses weren't comportable at all, and the food was the same every week (we had sausages three times a week). I felt unwanted and...

Hi Wogmaun I have just spoken to your employers - Men at Work and the agency you got the job through. For those reading this review it is important to know that Wogmaun was not required to work any more with the company and therefore had to leave. He/she was here at our beautiful lodge in the capacity of a...

We stopped here for a coffee stop along the inland road to Kaikoura. The coffee was great, the host and hostess very pleasant and chatty and the limited food offered was beautiful - scones, muffins and carrot cake. There are no other places to stop on this road so it's great to find the only place is so good. The...

We had to stop here due to road closures ( earthquake) and it was a lovely surprise! Beautiful and welcoming location, hosts, food, fireplace to warm us up on a cold night! Thank you so much!! I will come back!

Wonderful little quiet place to stay in. Superbly convenient,we arrived quite late yet the hosts did everything in their power to accommodate us as well as cook us a wonderful dinner. The hosts are super polite and friendly. Restaurant has a brilliant atmosphere. Lacked some facilities due to the recent earthquake, but yet did not inconvenience us in any way.

The biggest log cabin in the southern hemisphere! This place is a welcome stop over on the road to Kaikoura or Hanmer Springs, the new owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I didn't eat there but the chef/owner described the menu and it sounded delicious, he is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about his business. The roaring log fire with sofas...

We have been visiting there for may years in the winter after skiing up the mountain and it was always warm and welcoming......however, this time we stopped in for a drink on our way home it did not have the same feel......there is usually a lovely huge log fire burning (all day) to welcome you as you walk in but...

Oops Our apologies Nathalie - we are new owners. Have checked the calendar as to what was happening on that day. Sometimes things happen which are out of our control and that day it did. We hope you'll drop in for a coffee on us.

We stayed in our motorhome with a powered site. Very reasonably priced and the bathrooms were heated. So nice on a cold morning. Hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Had a lovely evening meal by the open fire. Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely stay again.

I cannot praise highly enough this venue and its managers and staff. Mel organised everything for us and all our requests were exceeded. We celebrated a 50th birthday bash on Halloween night - with decorations, costumes, themes etc - it was a magnificent night and one I will never forget. The accommodation was clean, food was perfect and entertainment was...

Good accommodation perfect for both winter or summer time. Super atmosphare with the fireplace. One of the most magical places in the south island to spend a fwe days and relax. The outdoor spa adds that extra element. Great friendly staff and nice food. Highly recommended!
