After spending a week with my brother in Cache Valley we finished our trip with a weekend in Salt Lake. Our stay at the Marriott was exactly what we needed! The room was well appointed and very comfortable. We have a 2 year old so cleanliness is even more important. The entire room has tile floor so he was able to play cars without me worrying about him crawling on dirty carpet. The pool was fantastic and we enjoyed watching the city below while we relaxed in the hot tub. We were walking distance to everything and a trax stop is available just on the other side of Gallivan.

Favorite - the pillows ❤️ and the gift bag they brought up with the pack and play. It was full of baby bath products. It was a very nice touch.

Least favorite - although very comfortable (I really did sleep fantastic) the mattresses rely on a padded cover which kept riding up on the sides. I’d say new mattresses need to be on the 2021 improvement list.

I often stay here for business, and find the staff to be friendly and helpful. My most recent stay was in Jan 2020, when I was part of a big delegation. We were well looked after, in particular at breakfast where the waiting staff kept a good watch on who was joining tables and kept us all happy with tea/coffee etc. A simple thing but not always done well!

I would like robes in the bedrooms.

Location has easy access and the property is well maintained and very nice. The staff was very accommodating and I enjoyed the Concierge Lounge. The room was very spacious to work in after hours while watching TV. We got about a foot of snow the first day I was at the property and they were clearing the sidewalks and access points before the sun was up - very impressive! I will definitely stay here again!

Hotel has done a lot of renovations, still can’t get your room cleaned even if you requested a room cleaning 24-48 hrs no one comes. Told by manager you have to stay 5 or more days to have your room cleaned and for services. Only nice thing at hotel was Ryan at the bar. Being a Marriot Gold member for yrs will not be staying here again. Usually stay at the Grand American and will for sure being staying there 100%

Wonderful hotel! Attention to detail was appreciated: shelves in bathroom, basket for soiled towels, bench at the foot of the bed for sitting and storage, lots of charging spaces, lots of mirrors in bathroom, robes, amazing pillows, loved the extra space for table and chair by bed, etc. these touches make a really big difference in the quality of the stay. Stayed in 9th floor with view of gavilan center. Would absolutely stay there again!

Great hotel located in a central downtown area. However, the management ruined our stay. When we noticed our room was getting too hot despite turning down the ac temperature and putting the fan on high, I checked the ac vent and noticed that there was no air coming out. I called the front desk and reported the problem. The lady at the front desk insisted that is normal for the hot day. I explained that there must be something wrong with ac and that the fan was not blowing air. But she basically ignored me and said that every room has the same problem that day, and she would not allow me to change rooms. She was very dismissive and unhelpful. She said the best they can do is to refund our booking and we can find another hotel. It was late at night and I do not want to move the family. Finally after arguing with me on the phone for awhile she relented and sent someone to check the ac. Voila! - the tech discovered that the fan power was completed disconnected behind the wall which is not accessible to guests at all. After connecting the power the fan began to blow air and the room cooled down.

Please listen to your guests instead of dismissing the reported problems - every problem is unique and worth spending time to look into and take care of! The management could have better handled our problem. I am very disappointed and expected much better service from Marriot.

Stayed here for 6 days and, to my shock, the hotel offered absolutely no housekeeping services. This wasn’t advised when I checked in and their website is intentionally vague, noting that they are offering room “refresh” upon request - which essentially means that they dump towels in your room and flee. When asked why this is the case, I was told that they are “still under COVID restrictions”, which is absurd given that the restaurant is packed, the bar is full, the buffet is being served in the executive lounge and front-desk employees were not wearing masks. The real motivation here is to save money at the expense of the customer.

That aside, the hotel is a mediocre full-service Marriott. Rooms are large and updated. Bathrooms are large and towels were of good quality. The gym has relatively outdated equipment, but still comprehensive.

But the housekeeping situation isn’t acceptable. I’m a lifetime platinum member with Marriott and have stayed at many properties over the past six months, including two other Marriott brands down the street. Everyone has offered some level of housekeeping service for a while now. This Marriott, however, believes that not cleaning rooms is, somehow, good from a COVID perspective.

Dear chrisjur, Thank you for letting us know about your stay! We are trying to get back to normal as quickly as possible, however the staff shortage is still affecting us. Six days is too long to go without service and I promise to investigate why you were not offered stayover service at least once during your stay. Sincerely, Emily

Stayed at this property twice recently and it's really hard to fault.

There didn't appear to be a room upgrade for Ambassador Bonvoy status but my room was entirely sufficient for my short stays. Clean and comfortable.

The executive lounge had snacks but was not open at the weekend.

Breakfast buffet was fairly basic but suited my purposes and I left full. The service at breakfast by Marco was excellent both times.

I put a special order in at the bar and it was granted with no fuss and I was charged fairly for the off menu dish. It was prepared quickly and I was happy.

Location was excellent for my walk to Temple Square and the state house. Ride share pick up and drop off was easy with limited wait each time.

Hotel was quiet at night and I had good sleep quality there.

Whole heartedly recommend, especially for Bonvoy elite members.

This hotel is conveniently located close to many attractions within walking distance and to attractions just outside of the city proper. The rooms are very trendy and spacious. They have underground garage parking that is easy to access from within the hotel. They usually offer valet parking but they have stopped that due to covid. Face masks required in all public areas of the hotel. The hotel is close to an outdoor mall, Temple Square, and many parks and restaurants.

Room was clean and modern. Location of hotel is perfect for exploring downtown. There's an outdoor mall close and several good restaurants close by. We walked to Temple Square with no problem. Restaurant in hotel has a pretty limited menu and is priced like a typical hotel restaurant so in future we'd eat elsewhere. But beyond that....hotel is nice and would stay here again.

Is there shuttle service to and from the airport?
Salt Lake Marriott City Center
Hi, We do not provide a shuttle service to the airport but we do have care services and cabs available. I recommend Uber, the average rate is usually $11 or so. the airport is only 6.5 miles from the hotel, so its a very short ride.
