Detailed Reviews
This hotel wasn't one of the suggested hotels to stay for our convention, but seeking to find options on my own, I found it, and what a discovery! We opted for one room with a kitchen and the others simply with the bed & sitting area, so if we wanted to 'eat in' for dinner or lunch, we could. Outstanding breakfasts are served each morning at the Hyatt until 9:30, with customized omelets & much more. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, helpful, and eager to make our stay enjoyable. The location of this hotel is one block from the backside of the convention center, which was extremely convenient, especially that for this show, with our exhibit badges, there was a back entrance for us to use! There's a heated pool, gym, and firepit to sit around outside at night. We were there in early March and it had just snowed before our arrival, so we woke to the snow covered mountains all around us, yet the temps that week in the valley, where the hotel is, was like spring. Some good restaurants are within walking distance and there are plenty of motorized scooter services to hop on and off of (or Lyft), if there's a location a distance away that you seek. The hotel doesn't offer airport shuttle service, but Lyft for us was under $20, plus they have public transit close by. Definitely if your schedule alows, at least take a ride up to Park City (about 30 min away). The ride back, coming down through the mountains, are beautiful, too. An added feature is that they have washers & dryers on a couple floors, for guests to utilize. Being 'road warriors', this was helpful. The 'laundromats' were clean and in good working order. The only negative was the beds weren't the most comfortable for me, personally. I love my 'heavenly beds' and the Hyatt beds were adequate, but not overly comfortable (but that's a subjective thing- they may be fine for you). Overall- I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend others to stay here!

A couple minor issues with AC and TV in the room, easily fixed and not worth whining about. Was happily surprised to find out that the pool and hot were open, They definitely need to open the bar/restaurant. Great deal for a 1 bedroom suite and best location possible if you are headed to watch a Jazz game(2 minute walk)

I have been here at Hyatt House for a business extended stay for 30 days. It has been an exceptional stay. Even with Covid it has been more than pleasant here. The hotel is extremely clean and well appointed. Lots of seating areas downstairs and beautiful rooms, some with kitchens. I didn’t have a kitchen in my room so I ordered food from the many places nearby. The front desk staff helped make sure that I got the food I was expecting. They made copies of handouts for me. Above all I must praise Garrett at the front desk and the housekeeping ladies for always going the extra mile. Garrett is the ultimate professional. He is kind and informative about places to eat around the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for short stays or extended stays. My luxurious walk in shower was wonderful as was my well appointed room. The Direct TV had hundreds of channels and my fridge, microwave and coffee counter made my stay even more enjoyable. I have been a block from the trolley and the Vivant stadium. There are lots places nearby to visit. I will be back!

We stayed two nights at the Hyatt House on a recent visit to Salt Lake City. The hotel is nice and modern. Our room was large and comfortable, though it was dark with odd lighting and furniture. Also, the Hotel only had a single elevator which seemed insufficient. There currently is no room cleaning. However, trash frequently piled up in the hallway.
The shower was nice and spacious, although it is very dark. There is very limited counter space in the bathroom. The hotel was rather noisy at night due to Rowdy guests and Street noise. The blower on the heating system was also quite loud, so we had to turn it off at night.
Although the hotel normally has a nice breakfast, during the current COVID situation a very limited pre-made breakfast is supplied, which wasn't even available when we left early in the morning.
The neighborhood around the hotel is a little sketchy. It's clearly improving with new construction projects ongoing, but it didn't feel exactly the safest at night, and random people on the street shouted at us as we passed by.
The hotel charged us for parking even though the parking garage is currently free.
Overall, the Hyatt House was fairly nice. We had no major problems, and its location near the airport was convenient for an early morning flight. But we might try other hotels on future visits to Salt Lake City.

What a freakin joke. We are the parents to 5 kids and don’t get out on our own often. We were super excited to be able to spend a night away from kids. We booked a room here for New Years for my husband and I directly through their website and not through an outside service like Expedia or kayak. We arrived to salt lake around 9 pm to check into our room. The man at the front desk proceeds to tell us “we accidentally overbooked and we no longer have a room for you but you can stay at our sister hotel by the airport” we chose this hotel as it was close to where our plans were for the evening and the idea of having to Uber clear out to the airport was a freaking joke. We were turned away at 9 o clock at night on a holiday with a measly since you booked directly through us we will cancel your reservation and won’t charge you a fee. Um yea we better not be charged a fee for your freaking error. We spent the next hour searching the area for somewhere to stay for the night and completely missed out on half of our plans. The worst part about the situation is that they could have easily sent us an email or a phone call when the realized they were over booked so we could have arranged for something else. It left us frustrated and we spent a good portion of the night rearranging plans that shouldn’t have needed to be rearranged. I won’t give service to any of these hotels ever again. They didn’t even try and fix their error or make up for the inconvenience it put on us.

My wife and I stayed here in early March for two nights. The location is fantastic; walking distance to so many great restaurants and breweries. Parking was included (free) both out front and in the parking garage. Check-in was easy and smooth. We had the 1 bedroom suite, which was quite nice. A wall separated the bed from the living space. The kitchenette was adequate with a coffee machine. Shower was large, although shower head pressure wasn't the best. Breakfast was included and served a wide range of items, along with juices and coffee. There are a number of signs suggesting there is a bar on the premises, but I suspect this was a thing of the past. The exercise room is well stocked and even has a peloton bike. We didn't use the outdoor pool or hot tub, but they looked inviting and the hot tub seemed large enough for 10+ people. Compared to other hotels in the area, the cost was great (we paid $156 per night before tax on a Friday/Saturday). I would say the only down side was the snacks they have for sale in the lobby are very overpriced. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

I am a big Hyatt House fan and use them alot for business, however will probably go elsewhere from now on.
The hotel is clean and the staff are extremely warm and friendly but the COVID protocol is disappointing. For starters they no longer offer the warm continental breakfast. instead you get a sack lunch bag with some fruit and a microwavable sandwhich (which was disgusting). What about covid stops you offering a fresh warm breakfast to guests? Seems like a money saving move disguised as a covid reaction. Any other hotel I have stayed at still offers a hot breakfast. This also wasn't noted at the time of booking which would have changed our decision to stay here.
Our room also wasn't cleaned for our entire stay (1 week). If we didn't want our room cleaned we would have got an airbnb. Not good enough, considering we put the card on our door each day saying we wanted it cleaned.
I am going to SLC next month again and will stay at the Marriott.

Where do I start!!! The hotel is clean (thanks to Chris, cleaning staff manager), safety conscious (they supply personal protection), and if you aren’t wearing a mask, they supply one. Choice of breakfast is really a bonus. 24 he tea and coffee (and they aren’t frugal with tea selections. The entire staff; Jeff, Lee, Abraham..I know I’m missing some (ex AA flight attendant) go above and beyond to make your stay a good one! The location is great! 2 balks away is the mall, Harmons grocery store is heaven.... great location, great staff, and a real fitness center! This was home for 30 days and it really felt like home. Thank you all. Mara

This is a mediocre hotel especially given the cost to stay. The room was clean and had basic room amenities that I expected any hotel to have except it does not have secure internet. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel breakfast was sufficient. It is in a nice location across the street from the Vivint Arena and that is likely the reason that this hotel costs more than others in the area.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Hyatt House in late September on a trip west to Portland.
We had an excellent stay in a very nice room. The front desk person Abraham was extremely helpful and provided great restaurant recommendations. Hotel is well located downtown
The hotel was within easy walking distance to Temple Square. We took in an organ recital at the Tabernacle and an evening tour of Temple Square provided by two pleasant young Mormon women on mission.
We also took in a visit to Red Butte botanical garden - very enjoyable. About 15 min drive from hotel.
Breakfast was provided but no hot items. Only disappointment in our stay.
Hotel and staff great.

No. We got a rental car to explore the city.
From the back of the hotel. It is secured with a fence and good lighting. You need your card key to enter and exit
No, they do not charge for having an extra person in the room.
