Wonderful stay here, so much so that we'd say it's been the best accommodation we've stayed at so far in our lives! Carl & Elma only acquired the property in Jan 16, so it's unfair to base reviews prior to then. They were great hosts and they went out of their way to help us with an issue with our...

We enjoyed the hospitality of Mary and Bob for two nights. Every morning, they served us another surprise cooked breakfast and had a chat with us. Wished we could have stayed longer. The view of the sea from the room was great. Just keep in mind that Captain Cook is a bit remote. So if you look for a restaurant...

Elma is a wonderful cook and a wonderful person who goes above and beyond what is expected to be a great host as does Carl. We enjoyed talking with both of them. Very interesting couple. The property has a bit of a musty odor but I think that is to be expected as it is almost set in a rainforest;...

Installed grab bars getting into tub.. shower is in the tub.. Tub is raised there is a step. The bars make its, safe. Still the whole place requires some flexibility, the path to the breakfast lanai leads to the second level for the sweeping ocean view. We are small, no elevators, escalators.

I am going to admit- I mostly booked this place because many reviews mentioned the amazing breakfasts and they sounded too good to pass up. We were not disappointed!! Elma cooks up an amazing spread with local coffee (you are in coffee country after all), amazing fresh fruit, muffins, juice.... etc. On top of that you get to enjoy it...

We stood there 3 nights in May 2015 and it was a very pleasant stay. Carl and Elma are very caring. The rooms are clean and there's a beautiful view to the ocean. We loved watching the sunset from our own balcony. Every morning Elma prepared a very delicious breakfast and there was always coffee, tea and juices. We would...

While traveling around the Island, Hale Ho'ola B&B provided the perfect stop on our way from Volcano National Park to Kona. Our room, which was clean and comfortable, had a private lanai and was furnished with everything to make our visit complete. Carl and Elma went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed in their home....

This B&B had everything we wanted. Good sleep, good breakfast, good views, and wonderful hosts. Coffee was excellent and always available. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the lanai with views of the ocean. Carl and Elma went above and beyond what was expected. Carl even let us use his snorkel equipment to snorkel at Two Step. Saw many tropical fish...

Very decently priced B&B run by especially helpful and accommodating owners. Particular highlight: the scenic beachfront breakfast on the sunny porch (you can watch colourful geckos cleaning up the remainders of your guave juice 😀). Carl gave us priceless insights into the top local snorkeling spots and beaches - thanks to that we even had the opportunity to swim with...

We stayed three nights at hale hoola. We don't know Bob and Mary but we know Elma and Carl. Both were very cooperative, obliging and hospitable. We felt well cared for! The property is starting to show it's age but everything was insofar clean. It is good situated and very well reachable with a rental car. The breakfast was delicious...

My wife and I stayed a week at Hale-Hoola after being on Kauai'i for a week. Elma and Carl are the perfect hosts, both interesting and great sense of humor. Elma is turning Hale-Hoola into a flora wonderland. The property already has papaya and bananas. We lingered at breakfast enjoying other guests in addition to Elma and Carl. Our room...
