The hotel is at a great location next to the lake and with great mountain view. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was not great. We were placed in ‘level 1’ which is more like a basement. So our view was more like half a view. We did not have any housekeeping while we where there. Also it was not possible to get a table at Dunraven - the hotel restaurant. We order in-room which delivered fast but unfortunately was very utasteful. The tempature in the room was impossible to control. I would most likely not come back tobthis hotel.
Daughter and I spent 5 nights here,1700.+ Which we were good on this, They didn't clean the room over these days. Ok, Covid, got it. But the last evening we came in late from The Chop House right by resort, so we didn't have any bottled water for the night, They had 2 bottles in room for coffee maker which we used, So we asked if we could get 2 bottles of water, the woman look at us and said NO. You only get 2 bottles per stay, not per day. Really.. How Sad. M. Quinn
Frozen breakfast potatoes, mealy, pasty lasagna, old, smelly, overcooked fish. At this price point, it’s an insult to serve people food that low quality, and prepared so poorly. The owners of this establishment should be ashamed of themselves.
We had a wonderful stay at The Estes Park Resort. The staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were spacious and big enough for our family of 4. We had a lake view and the views were incredible. We were able to see Elk both mornings we were there.
We are so happy with Estes Park Resort during our visit to RMNP. The hotel is reasonably well maintained in this remote area, yes, the elevator did not work well, but the situation was manageable, for us Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I forgot to bring the camera battery charger, ordered one from Amazon for delivery to the hotel. Karen and Jocelyn made sure the hotel staff go to their mailbox in town to pick up the Amazon package. A gentleman at the front desk also told us about the golf course close by: the migrating elks just love to hang out there. We saw 5-6 big herds of elks, bugling around the area one night. The resort does not offer daily maid service. But all I had to do was to ask for supplies at the front desk. They have plenty of shampoo/conditioner, instant coffee bags, coffee cups, all readily available in a bag Karen and Jocelyn also helped me print out the timed entry ticket for the park everyday. Dunraven Restaurant has the best Brussels sprouts. Dinner and breakfast were both wonderful. Lunch was a bit rough if you come after 2pm. The only had limited menu after 2pm We tried several local restaurants: - The Cascades, at the Stanley’s Hotel. It has a nice patio away from the hotel night tour. Every outside table is a fire table. Good food, beautiful setting. - Bird & Jim: very close to the Bear Meadow entrance. Open for lunch & dinner, good food, interesting history. Very convenient for a quick lunch break - The twin owls: a bit far on the opposite direction of the town. Good was good, location is a minus - Poppy Pizza: right in the middle of town center. There are tables outside the patio by the River. We just ordered to go and ate it by the River steps away from the restaurant. Good is average - The SEASONED: totally deserves the top spot in town. Live everything there Hikes Outside the park, Gem Lake is nice but be prepared it’s a hard hike…
