Comfortable, quiet, peaceful yet within walking distance along a river path to town. lovely setting, hummingbirds, plenty of snacks and water, gracious hostess. Private patio area for relaxing/eating including firepit Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. We would definitely go there again and met other repeat customers.

John - Thank you for relaying your experience and staying with us. Your warm review really captures what we've tried to do here. The motel isn't the newest, or the biggest, but we would hope that our service, room comfort, and firepit/hot tub area upgrades create a relaxing place to rest at in between trips to the Park. We're happy...

Hellkat - Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our motel! We're glad you liked room 21 - even though it's not a large room (none of our rooms are - so we try to maximize layout and functionality). It's perfect for one or two as you noted, and we're happy that you liked the layout...

Having read some reviews about that place beforehand, we were on the whole a bit disappointed. The room was kind of old fashioned and noisy. The aircon was rather noisy too, and inefficient. If you want to smoke a cigarette, you can't, or you have to smoke inside your car... That's what we were told. Breakfast was ok, but nothing...

Ray - Thank you for staying with us this summer. I'm sorry that felt your room was a bit noisy and old fashioned. We hope that future guests would look at the pictures of our motel and rooms to get a good idea of the furnishings (all new, hand made of cherry and alder) and accommodations (motel style, constructed first...

The property is beautiful, well maintained and VERY clean. The beds are comfortable, the linens are of good quality, the walls were freshy painted in contemporary colors and the bathroom had new fixtures. My daughter and I shared room #9, which faces a grassy hillside with mountains in the background. We literally watched elk come down off the slope to...

8Klp - Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate the feedback and that you stayed with us. Your review is an interesting perspective, and maybe an insight into different people. We are careful to advertise "views" with our motel because everyone has a different expectation. People that have stayed in the exact same room you were in mentioned a...

We were very pleased with our experience at what appears to be a refurbished and updated 1960's or 1970's era motel. It is owned and operated by a young couple who are working hard to continuously improve the property, provide a high level of service and evoke the charm and comfort of a small inn. The rooms are very comfortable....

We loved our 3 night stay at the Maxwell Inn, we had room 18 which was ground floor at the front, great location to sit outside with a beer and watch the humming birds on the nearby feeder. We also saw elk on two occasions just wandering about. Our room was on the bijou side but enough space for our...

Sooz - Your review is much appreciated and thank you for taking the time to write it. We do understand and apologize for our rooms being a bit tight, but we're happy to hear that it wasn't a deal breaker for you. This was our first visit to Maxwell Inn since the Maxwell's bought and refurbished the (former) Mountain Sage Inn; a place we stayed each fall for several years. The Maxwell's are the perfect family to operate such a business; friendly, confident, knowledgable and oh so helpful! The Maxwell Inn is a perfect location on west Elkhorn Ave (very easy access...

Great place to stay! Room was small but most importantly was clean, up to date, and cozy feeling. Within a 10 minute walk along the paved path beside the river to downtown and within a 10 minute drive to RMNP.
