The cabins were well laid-out to maximize privacy and the interiors were dated but impeccably clean. Our cabin, “Castle View“, had a large patio with a grill and an indoor hot tub. More details in our blog.

Castle Mountain Lodge is just far enough away from town to make you feel like you are in the wilderness, yet close enough to make a quick run for a meal, drink or shopping. It's on the right side of town for easy access to RMNP too! Staff was incredibly nice, we booked an

We stayed in River Castle #7. This unit is set apart from the rest of the cabins and is close to the river. A short walk away is Nicky’s Steakhouse. The unit was clean and has a full kitchen. The private indoor hot tub is great; as is the wood burning fireplace. The rental is

We've stayed here many times and find it wonderful each time. Right on Fall River, we loved sitting on the deck and watching the water. The cabins are clean and they even stock firewood for a cozy fire. Staying here is like having your own cabin in the mountains. Look for

We've made it easily in two hours either going through Boulder, or up I-25 through Ft Collins. The second way is a prettier drive going through the canyon.

You are correct. There is no smoking allowed on the premises of any kind. You need to be especially careful right now if you go off premises as there are burn bans in place, so you have to smoke in enclosed areas (cars, etc).

I chose to drive so didn't have to worry about the time being left before dark or the weather. Also if you are from much lower altitude this walk could be more difficult than you would think. Don't underestimate the impact of altitude even if you are in great shape. Downhill on way to town. Uphill on the way back.

"We stayed in Castle #1 near the hot tub. Has a nice deck, plus access to the gas grill and spa was only a few steps away."
"Some rooms are simply hotel-like rooms, some are cabins with full kitchen. Rooms closest to the river will have some road noise."
"If you can a cabin with a private hot tub, get it."
"Cabins are great for families who want to cook for themselves!"
"If you want a private hot tub, I'd suggest Castle Pines cabin or 1 of the other 2 (don't know the names)."
