1. Pricey room and breakfast: we paid average $400/night, it was the same room rate as we paid for at a 4-stars hotel in downtown Denver which breakfast was included.
2. The room definitely need some TLC: it was dark and the light fixtures look really sad; a big portion of the curtains were derailed and we have to use the hotel hanger with clips to temporarily fix it; the bathtub drain was clotted; the sofa was falling apart (Pictures attached), and the bedsheets were so wrinkled that we thought they probably didn’t change the bedsheets.
3. The common area carpet is very filthy, it seems like hasn’t been vacuumed or carpet cleaned for months.
The good:
1. Location: this hotel is only a short drive to downtown and 10-15min drive to Rocky Mountain national park.
2. All you can drink Starbucks coffee and sparkling water with flavors to choose from.

I spent three nights at this hotel and at first I was a bit confused by it... the modern section of the lobby and then the kind of dated corridor of rooms. Then I looked at the photos outside of the games room and it all made sense - this is a classic hotel from the early 70s... a 'holidome'! The rooms in the pool area were once prime!
I am not going to go into a huge breakdown of my stay except to say that the room was good and up to date. The bed a little hard. Loved the free Starbucks coffee, Tevana tea and the flavoured sparkling waters in the lobby. All of the staff were lovely and kind.
There are five things I recommend to Holiday Inn Estes that would make this hotel great...
1. put back the clear glass in the ceiling of the pool to give it more light - it would change this area and make it so much more inviting. Right now it's way too dark, especially for the people staying in the rooms. Look at the original design.. it was perfect.
2. Please stop playing Sponge Bob on repeat in the pool.
3. Stop charging for the breakfast. This is the same average/acceptable breakfast that every other Holiday Inn puts on for free. It is not worth $17.99. You would have a lot more people having breakfast and tipping your staff.
4. Fix your air con in the rooms - it sounds like a raging storm is going on outside when it's running.
5. Add safes to the rooms. I didn't like not being able to lock my valuables away, especially when I came back to my room and the door had been left open by the cleaner.
My stay would have been a 10/10 if the above were implemented.

The staff get five stars, they were great! The facilities were not so great. Renovations are in order. At that price I expect lamp shades without holes, no mold in the bathroom, and water in the fridge. When we return to Estes, we will not stay here,

The front desk staff, Jeff, and the restaurant waiter, Volkan C, have offered excellent service! They are super nice and kind. Traveling with small children, we appreciate their kindness and attention to details. The swimming pool is also amazing with free pool toys and floaties.

I am here for a conference. This hotel is very inaccessible for those with disabilities. The front desk promised me an accessible shower a week in advance and the day of my arrival they informed me that they would be unable to honor that request. The towels are placed on a high shelf that is unreachable. The shower chair I got was covered in some sort of dirt or mold and I was unable to sit in such a way that I could close the shower curtain, creating a dangerously slippery situation in the bathroom. The ramp and elevator situation are a nightmare. What kind of hotel doesn’t have any toilet seat covers available in its public facilities. It’s absolutely disgusting. Many of the chairs around the already inaccessible fire pits are broken. The nearest restroom has no accessible door. End the discriminatory practices. Additionally, my room has a window out to the pool, which has flashing lights and loud audio until 11pm. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

My wife, two sons (7 and 10) and I went on a 3 day trip to Estes Park. When we checked in we were greeted by Daniel, who is the friendliest host I've ever seen. He previously gave me recommendations/info about the area over the phone and at check he further explained the ins and outs about the hotel. The hotel is very kid friendly and offers a game room, pin ball machine and a good sized pool + hot tub with a a large wide-screen tv on the pool's side.
The room was very clean and offered a great view over the Rocky Mountains.
Breakfast was excellent and Maria, the breakfast host, was extremely friendly and even brought my wife a mini birthday cake with candle and made an origami rose folded out of a napkin. She worked very hard and smiled the whole time we were there.
At dinner we tried the Latitude 105 Alehouse, which is the same room as where breakfast is served in. Victoria, our server, was extremely helpful and hard working and just like Maria and Daniel, she shared information about the area and fun trivia.
If you are Staying at the Ridgeline Hotel, I would highly recommend going to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is only 3 miles away and even in winter, you can still drive about 8-10 miles into the park (this is from the east entrances at Beaver Meadows and Fall River which are resp. on highway 36 and 34). Within the park we thought Bear River Rd and Bear River Lake were the most stunning routes/spots. The Stanley Hotel, which is on the way to Rocky Mountains NP, is a great place to stop. It offers great views and offers quite some history. The movies The Shining and Dumb and Dumber were (partially) filmed there.
Anyway, I can keep going on about recommendations and sightseeing in the area, but as far as the hotel goes...the staff just totally made our stay phenomenal and gave my wife the best 40th Birthday she could ask for for. Our kids absolutely loved the staff as they were telling us repeatedly how friendly they all were.
I would obviously highly recommend The Ridgeline Hotel and we will certainly come back here.

We were very warmly greeted by the desk agent and truly treated like valued guests. Room was fine. The problem was with the breakfast. Unlike most holiday inns, breakfast was not included and we paid $38+ for the two of us for each morning. Food was horrible. Powdered dry eggs; tasteless french toast: COLD coffee (I think it was left from the day before; There was a sign indicating the choice of breads (but 4 of the 6 did not exist). The staff and service were exemplary.

The hotel fits the Estes Park vibe very well, with the outdoor fire pits and walking distance to downtown and Lake Estes. The problem we had was we asked if breakfast was included with the room, and we were told it would be $20 per night so we opted out and got our own breakfast. What they failed to mention was we would be charged the $20 per night regardless as an ‘amenity fee’ that included breakfast. In essence, we were forced to pay for breakfasts we didn’t eat because it wasn’t explained we’d have to pay the fee anyways.

Poolside rooms smell of nostril stinging mustiness, especially room 217; make sure your room is not poolside. Older hotel that has been adequately maintained. Minimal toiletries consisting of one bar of soap, lotion, and hand sanitizer; make sure you bring your own shampoo. Very clean tub. I think they take sanitation seriously. Lots and lots of dogs going in and out of the building. We only heard two dogs barking; one in the hallway and another in someone's room. We brought our own white noise fan and that helped the drown out the barking (if there was any).

Hotel is clean, staff friendly at check in. Convenient to the restaurants and shops. Pool and hot tub area are a very nice size. Fire pits are outside to roast marshmallows, and they give you a free s'more packet to use. Free breakfast is a continental, no meats, but there were eggs and potatoes. It did the job. There is a Starbucks coffee machine in the lobby accessible 24 hours and the coffee was good! It was just myself and my husband, but this would be a good place for families with kids, I think. The one thing that we were not pleased with was how loud our AC unit was!

The pool is inside, and it was available. You need to go to the front desk to get them to open it. The workers live in rooms in that area, so they use the pool quite a bit. I didn’t notice any dogs, and we were there the third week of June. I don’t drink coffee so I don’t know anything about that. Other than the strip, there’s absolutely nothing to do after about 7.
Our room had neither. I understand they are remodeling so you might contact them. Our room surely had not been remodeled because we have stayed in places that were half the price and twice as nice.
There are more places to choose from in the Estes Park area.
