We were a group of two couples celebrating my spouse's birthday and decided to try out White Stallion based on the numerous amazing reviews. We were checked-in early and given a tour by Sarah who was wonderful throughout our stay. The rooms were well-appointed and backed up onto an area where you could see horses right out your window; this was fantastic. We really enjoyed all of the activities offered from riding to shooting to the pool/hot tub, we soaked it all in for the two days we were there. Their bar and cocktail hour was great and their food overall was really homey and well-made and delicious! It is a dude ranch and while it is upscale, there are definitely some amenities that they are lacking (i.e. pool towels in the pool area, timely housekeeping, iron in rooms, etc.) I expected this so we came fairly prepared. We truly enjoyed our experience and would 100% return.

Every aspect of the vacation has been wonderful. From the airport transfer to the moment we checked out.

The horses are plentiful, safe, friendly and willing. The trails and ridden activities are varied and accommodate advanced and novice riders. They have an on-site photographer covering Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to capture those perfect moments. Well worth it!!! Check out the photos.

For the non riders ( or when you need to rest those achy bones) there are other activities including painting, craft classes, archery, shooting, hiking E-biking and climbing) The spa, pool and hot tub perfect for afternoon relaxation

Not for those watching their waistline ….The food is exceptional, a wide choice available at all meal times. Tea, coffee, lemonade , iced tea, fruit and cookies available throughout the day.
6pm happy hour with snacks gives a great opportunity to meet friends, and dive into the well stocked bar. The bar bill chitties are totalled up and added to your final bill at check out.

Every member of staff is well informed, friendly and approachable. This includes the cleaners, ground staff, wranglers, catering team, gift shop and reception.

This ranch offers great value for money and flights from U.K. to Tucson (one change) or direct into Phoenix then shuttle bus (about 90 minutes) are more reasonable than flights to other ranch destinations we had considered.
For those staying a week or more, transfers from Tucson airport or Phoenix shuttle drop are included.

In conclusion, the hospitality, activities, location, value for money are unbeatable.

Myself and two sons (24, 26 had only ridden a few trail rides before) had an awesome time staying for 4 nights. We lucked out and the occupancy was very low, so all activities we easy to sign up for. We arrived a little before 1pm and we were on horses riding through the desert by 2! We took some riding lessons, which are very affordable and helped us get to know our horses better. Wranglers Johnny and Shania were awesome, they helped us with trotting and even did some loping in the arena. Even as a beginner I could do the cattle sorting which was very cool!

The E-bikes were very fun. I do a lot of mountain biking and was not expecting to like the e-bikes, but with the sandy terrain the electric assist was really nice and made it much more fun. The ranch was able to accommodate us with a more advanced ride since we handled the intermediate ride pretty well. The rock climbing instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful, he picked some challenging climbs for us and we all learned a lot and left with rubber arms.

The shooting and archery with Louie were fun as well, The bows were serviceable recurves of various weights as you would expect at a resort, but good arrows, fun time. The 45 shoot seemed a little pricey to me (x3 for my boys), but was definitely worth it and with the cost and availability of ammunition these days, it is really a good deal.

The food was great at every meal. Some were made to order, some buffets style.
All very good. I was concerned about taking a trip like this in with COVID, but the staff and guests were all very good about masking anytime we were close and 100% indoors. We mostly ate outside except in the mornings when it was too chilly.

The staff and the family were all super friendly and accommodating. It is clearly a family run affair and the family has been doing this a long time and have it down to science. Steven (owners son) sat his horse in front of our small crowd of about 15 guests for the Rodeo (which is basically the ranch family and friends practicing for rodeos). He is a funny guy and really explained what was going on and how the events worked, etc. Great time. All the shows were good. Loop Rawlins gun spinning, roping and whip show was amazing.

So every day we ate, rode usually twice, did something else like e-bike, shoot or climb, hike in the dessert, then a few beers, a show, play some cards in the room, go to bed and do it again the next day. Great time with my boys we will not forget!

I had been dreaming about this get away after a friend told me about the dudes ranches'. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, in a deluxe room, with activities and diners. We drove from Sedona after a lovely 3 days in a fantastic family retreat.
Our stay at whites satllion was a real disappointment! We understand COVID, we understand not being a hotel, but happy welcoming, decent food, cleaning and departing customer are still something in any type of hospitality. The best part of our stay was the reservation lady we talked to. She was awesome super pro.
Check in was nothing as we would have imagine, just the same if I had gone to a DMV.
They kept asking us if we would eat at the ranch which we had booked already over the phone.
Here is why we only stayed one night indtead of 2:
Diner: My husband laughed and laughed when our ordered menu got to the table. He asked me: why did the Chef needed to know so, so much in advance if we would have diner to serve what we got!
2 very, very sad kind of kids burgers, a bottled vinaigrette, a pinch of green with a beaten tomato and a tall glass with 2 ice cream vanilla scoop (not even good),a spray whipped cream industrial taste and a half sliced banana mixture.
Because of Covid, after we found our room, I cleaned the counter top by the mini bar and our night table.
I was shocked !!!!! I was probably the one who cleaned them in a long time. The bathroom was clean though.
The bed pillows were a slim thing, cannot even tell the material, and the beds had a blanket, which I guess is not changed for each guess, it is covered by 2 flats sheets.
Interaction with the team was extremely curt. We felt not welcomed, we bothered them. The young Hispanic girl serving food was the nicest as well as the gardening cleaning team, smiling and at least helpful and smiling.
After our diner, we went to our room and were looking to stay out of it, the hotel lobby, bar were nicely decorated, but the atmosphere was cold, unwelcoming.
We lighted an outdoor fire and watched the stars. That was the only moment we will remember of our stay. Next morning we left one day earlier, not even wanting to do the activities after we met another couple telling us about their own dispointment. Instead of asking why we would leave one day earlier the desk assitant kept saying, fine and was totalky robotic.

What an extraordinary trip to the White Stallion Ranch! The attention to detail is amazing. The ranch is only 30 minutes from the airport. The ranch is serene and untouched, and gave us an authentic dude ranch experience! This is the perfect vacation for those who are active but want to unplug from the world during vacation. There is something for everyone and they do an exceptional job of customer service and attention to details. The rooms are gorgeous and they have thought of everything, down to the various hooks you'll need for hanging up bathing suits, masks (yes, the COVID ones), towels, and various travel items. All the rooms have an outside patio, perfect for morning coffee or lighting a fire at night in the fireplace. The horses are well-cared for and we loved hearing their history. There are all sorts of rides; fast, slow, breakfast, mountain, etc. for all skill levels. We did the fat tire bikes, twice - so much fun! The UTV ride was great (thanks, Jared). All the staff are so knowledgeable of the history, ecosystem and especially the plants/cactus. Everyone works hard here, and it shows. The food is fabulous, and the dining rooms/outside eating areas are so laid back and relaxing. Loved learning the history of the ranch and the memorabilia in the bar area is a great touch. Special shout outs to Jared, Hector, Daniel, Christina, Alice, Steven, Wally, Analisa, Dakota, Jake and others i'm sorry I didn't ask for enough names. Even the gift shop is great! Do a couple trips around or you will miss something. Last, one of our favorite things was to get horse treats at night and walk out, view the beautiful sky and feed the horses who line up at the rail. They have figured out that guests come to the railing to feed them. Thank you, White Stallion Ranch for an unforgettable trip!

I’ve loved the White Stallion ever since I first visited in 1968. The ranch has been owned and operated by the True family for decades, and they are present daily working and welcoming their guests.

You get to experience slow and fast horse rides up into the picturesque mountains, cattle penning and splitting, breakfast and wine/cheese rides, and a real rodeo.
I particularly enjoyed being able to ride and bond with the same horse every day.

Other activities on the ranch include rifle and pistol shooting, archery, desert outings on e-bikes, arts and crafts, swimming, and spa services to relax and recover!
There are plenty of activities for children including riding, basketball, a wonderful petting zoo, playground, and a lovely game room.

The meals are wholesome, varied, and quite good considering they are feeding a whole colony of guests. I particularly enjoyed having full board, and not having to search for a restaurant each night. Every evening after dinner there was entertainment ranging from star gazing, a looping show, and a singing cowboy around a campfire.

The rooms are quite comfortable, clean, and generally quiet - except the night we heard anguished cow cries. We learned the next day that the calves had been weaned and separated from their moms. Poor babies!!
Other than that, it was always a joy to wake up, open the blinds, and see the horses waiting for us… hoping to get a treat!

I began going out to the White Stallion Ranch earlier this year and loved it so much that I've been back three more times. On this last visit, I brought my family of 22 out for a week long visit. I can't say enough good things about the True family and the staff that they've hired. You won't find a more personable and dedicated group of people anywhere.
The ranch is like an oasis away from everything and sitting on over 3000 acres. You can decide to be as busy as you want with soooooo many different activities or you can just lounge by the pool. Either way, this place has everything to occupy you or your families time. We typically have a large family vacation every year and after this trip several of my family members remarked that this was the best trip that we've ever taken and they can't wait to go back.
We were served three meals a day and the food was always delicious. You can decide to eat inside or outside depending on the temperature. Lastly, the backdrop of the mountain scenery or the stars at night just cant be beat.

There is so much to do on this ranch. It is well organized, with excellent staff and very safety conscience. The rooms are quite western and clean. No TV’s, but there is Wi-Fi. The staff is quite accommodating. There is so much food so you will not go hungry and it is actually quite good. I love waking up to the horses outside my room. The animals are well taken care of so it feels good to be a part of something good. The fat tire bikes are quite cool and a great addition to the ranch. I highly recommend this ranch, but if you prefer fewer crowds then I suggest you refrain from booking during the holidays as it is way to crowded. This is a great vacation for families and many generations.

This dude ranch is amazing. First off the casitas are nicely appointed and large. I like the outdoor fireplace on the front patio. The food is all homemade. The pancakes are amazing, the lunches to dinners are amazing. Like having cold drinks available during the day. It’s a family owned ranch of 3000 acres in the Sonoran desert. I like the honor system of the beer and wine. I did the slow ride horseback riding, archery, 22 caliber shooting, EBike riding, nature walk and massage. They have all inclusive if you stay 4 nights. We did 2 nights so riding was included other activities you paid extra for. My friends want to next time. A great experience l.

Not only is the venue and activities top notch, but the staff all act like they enjoy working there. There is definitely a feeling of a caring family run business as apposed to the sterile corporate feel of other places. The rooms are spotless, food is great and they really want you to live the western lifestyle. There are horseback activities that are for all ages and experiences. We took two different rides and the wranglers were very personable and informing.

I highly recommend the White Stallion Ranch to anyone looking for the true west experience! No pun intended, as the owner's last name is True.
