Located in the quiet Eastern part of Tucson, by the Saguaro East National Park, Desert Trails is still convenient to restaurants, shops and downtown. Host John was most helpful and friendly. He also makes wonderful breakfasts, some with super fresh eggs from his own hens and his homemade chorizo sausage. The depictions of the rooms and grounds on their website...

We stayed in the guest house, which was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The plantings and the birds and the breakfasts were beyond our expectations. Being so far out of the city allowed us to see the stars and to experience an escape from all man-made noises. It was blissful. We also enjoyed horse-back riding in the national park next...

This great place is just 1.6M from the trail heads in the Eastern mountains near Tucson. Has a great pool, comfortable rooms, beds, lots of outdoor social space and a secluded and well landscaped location. A great getaway spot if you love taking advantage of the gorgeous desert nature that surrounds it. John and Steffi are great hosts and serve...

I usually like bed and breakfasts because there is a more personal approach and not the usual corporate, cold one. After checking their website, I decided to book a room at Desert Trails B&B and in less than twenty-four hours I received a reply. After confirming reservation I called them and spoke with John. That gave me confidence that I...

Desert Trails is a hidden paradise right at the edge of Saguaro NP East. John and Steffi are wonderful hosts make you feel at home right from the minute you step through the door. The property has a beautiful garden with an abundance of birds fluttering about, rabbits hopping across the yard and little geckos sunning on rocks, and there...

In Tucson for a wedding and groom's parents recommended this place as one to consider for our stay. Very glad we chose this B&B. Mica room is spacious & comfortable, tasty breakfasts, great spot for birders, friendly & knowledgeable innkeepers, relaxing environment, easy to find, quiet location; within half hour to hour of interesting things to do; decor is soothing...

This place exceeded our expectations! Everything was exactly as described. John and Steffi were so nice! Breakfast was so good! Our favorite was the stuffed poached Apple. Beds were comfortably. We stayed in the guest house which had everything we needed.

We did not want to stay at a hotel on our recent vacation to Tucson and decided on this B&B. It was a great decision. John and Steffi are great hosts and share information readily about local attractions. The B&B is at the eastern end of town - literally - and is a very short distance to a trailhead for...

Was fortunate to get a short notice reservation at the Desert Trail. Wonderful room with a wood-burning fireplace that came in handy during a chilly night,. Breakfast was delicious. Provided excellent referrals for dinner and hiking. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

We travel to Tucson once a year, in January, for business and a few days of hiking in one of the world's most fascinating landscapes: the Sonoran Desert. Tucson is a great restaurant town, too (try Feast and the new Commoner & Co.). This year, though, our long-time favorite B&B, the Azure Gate, was booked. They recommended Desert Trails. It...

Wow! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the professorship...if only it were true. Sadly I was just another lowly, ne'er-do-well PhD: Steffi had the real job. Thanks again and we're really glad you enjoyed your stay.
