I stayed in the Stepping Stone Inn last year and absolutely loved it. Being back in the area for the holidays, I didn’t hesitate to stay there a second time. And, once again, I was thrilled with my stay! Returning here felt very much like returning to an old friend. The innkeepers, Matt & Kelly remembered me from my last...

The inn is right in the middle of where you want to be in Salem. As someone who doesn't really like to drive, it was nice to know that everything we wanted to see was in walking distance of the inn. The owners were very knowledgable and friendly and recommended a great, quirky place to eat which perfectly matched the...

We stayed in the Monteray room during the busiest time of the year in Salem...Halloween. We had a great view of a key area of town, and more importantly were centrally located to pretty much everything! If we needed a break from the crowds, the weather, or just wanted to relax, we were never far (perhaps a 10 minute walk...

This inn is right at the heart of all the tourist places of Salem. It was awesome not needing to drive anywhere. Everything was within walking distance and Matt and Kelly were extremely helpful giving us tips on where to go. This inn felt like a home away from home. It didn't feel impersonal like most hotels do. It was...

I cannot say enough great things about this inn and the innkeepers. I am so happy that we decided to stay here for our first trip to Salem. Matt and Kelly definitely make you feel so welcomed and their cats are great at making you feel welcomed as well. The minute you walk through the door you feel at home....

Just got back from our second visit at the Stepping Stone since Matt and Kelly took over, and the upgrades are notable - fresh paint (vibrant colors!), upgraded bed linens and memory foam pillows. Very comfortable and quiet (at least while we were there). The accommodations may not be the most spacious in Salem, but you won't find a better...

We booked the Stepping Stone just for one night during a road trip around New England. It's located in very easy walking distance of the city centre and has off road parking. We were in the attic room (the 'Salem' room) which was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts Matt & Kelly we incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast was...

This is our last night here. Matt and Kelly are very nice, as is the Boston Room that we stayed in. You have a queen size bed and your own bathroom. The location of the Stepping Stone Inn is perfect. Everything is within walking distance. Matt has many recommendations for meals and he and Kelly offer a lovely continental breakfast...

I honestly enjoyed our trip to Salem and staying at the Stepping Stone Inn. Matt and Kelly couldn't be any kinder and the location was excellent and you could walk everywhere. Breakfast was good and Matt and Kelly both went out of their way to help you. My only complaint was we booked the Big Sur room because we were...

Hi Colleen, Thanks so much for reviewing us. We're happy that you found our location to be right in the middle of all the happenings in Salem, but are sorry that you found the room to be too noisy. Let me just point out that since we are located in the center of Salem, walkable to all the sights, we...
