I was very disappointed with my stay. Quite a few new employees who either don’t know how to help you or give you the wrong information. Our room was very damp, our mini fridge didn’t work, and since you don’t offer housekeeping unless you stay longer than 4 days, we only stayed for exactly 4 nights so we were out of luck, and was stuck with our garbage which ended up stinking up the room after a few days. Our last night was the most disappointing. You offer adult swim (21+) from 8pm to 10pm every night which was an amazing idea. The last night we were there we thought it would be relaxing a romantic to swim under the stars and so went up for the adult swim hour. Not only were there kids in their teens swimming the whole time, but the worst part is 4 loud drunk adults began smoking up there. There’s a clear sign that says no smoking and these people decided to chain smoke while in the pool getting their ashes in the water. It was disgusting. I called the front desk to complain and they told me they couldn’t do anything until their security guards get on duty…which wasn’t until 10pm…when adult swim was over. There was construction all over the front and inside the building and the last two days only had one working elevator. The day of our check out, we found 5 red ants inside our bed and I got bites all I’ve me. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway for me and my hubby but it was anything but. Will not come back here again. For an extra $150 we should have stayed elsewhere.…
The sheets, pillow cases and comforter smelled like body odor. It was plain they had not changed the bedding from previous guests. I called front desk and let them know. They said they would bring fresh ones right away. We went out to the riverwalk and returned late that evening and still no fresh bedding. Had to call again. Next day at 2:00 pm there was no hot water for my shower.
The staff is rude and unknowledgeable. Everything was difficult there. My daughter has diabetes and needed some additional water so she asked the bar and restaurant for a cup of water and all they told her was we don't have water.... Who doesn't give a child a cup of water when they ask...The staff is very rude and lazy. I was very unimpressed. I never write bad reviews but try and stay somewhere else if you can. Not worth it.
We had so many choices and I regret that we chose this place. This is not at all a luxury hotel and really mediocre at best. The rooms and halls are dated but were also not clean. Walking to my room (paid for upgrade with river view, not cheap) there was popcorn pieces, sugar packets, straw wrappers and bags of Whattburger along the hall at different places. When I walked through 5 hours later, it was all still there which means they are not cleaning as they should be. Perhaps because of the larger rooms there were many large families with a lot of kids, saw a lot of clothing being carted in garbage bags. The construction in the front was unattractive but not their fault; the construction on the various floors made rest challenging so would do at times that are not typical sleep periods. Overall I would just stay somewhere else, especially if you want a nicer, option since there are so many choices. Also, valet parking was $42 a night - that may be typical in the area and I am happy to pay for high quality hotels but it was insult to injury here.…
The Hotel Contessa was undergoing construction while we were there, however, I highly recommend it. Although our room needed a good deep cleaning, that would be my only complaint. Great location on the Riverwalk, beautiful city view, friendly and efficient service.
