I thought the service at this hotel was very good, everyone was friendly and did what ever they could to make your stay pleasant. The hotel has a long historic background which makes wandering the halls interesting.

Historic hotels are notorious for having squeaky floors and oddly shaped rooms and the Menger is no different. That aside, the Menger is a quaint, lovely hotel located smak-dap in the middle of San Antonio's tourist area. Across the street from the Alamo, it doesn't get any better.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel The staff was kind, efficient and professional. The room was beautiful, and the whole experience was fantastic! The new part of the hotel is pretty, but the historic side is Breath taking! They have antique furniture and light fixtures throughout the lobby and hall ways. I have always been a fan of all things old...

First - the people there are wonderful, no exceptions from the desk to the room staff to the restaurant and bar. Second, they have the best breakfast in the area. Third, it's just a classy place - an architectural gem. Finally, the rooms are comfortable, if small. No real complaints in any of those areas. But...the hotel is noisy due...

Great location. Nicely renovated. But rooms are tiny and services are minimal. Tiny work out facility. Restaurant generally unable to meet special requests. Very small rooms with minimal appointments. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

My experience at the Menger Hotel was excellent overall. The staff was courteous and helpful. My room was very comfortable and the hotel was well situated for my needs. Only complaint is that the only soft drink vending machine that took actual money was empty. All the others required a credit card for a $1.50 purchase. I do understand that...

The graceful hotel steeped in history and welcome. It's located conveniently on Alamo Square and adjacent to River Walk. Stay where famous persons have enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience. The staff are professional and helpful. The dining room has a delicious selection awaiting you every meal. Free internet with good signal.

This hotel is not on the riverwalk but close to all the downtown landmarks including the Alamo across the street. Average service at check-in with an older style room. Nothing special, but no issues either. If price right worth a stay if you don't want a river hotel.

Had a great stay at this classic property right off the Alamo square & park. The river walk access is really right across the street, and the horse and buggies going by really gives it a nice feel. Our room was excellent, nice, clean, and comfortable.

The hotel is in a great location for seeing the sights - the Alamo across the street, just a short block to enter the River Walk, history at your doorstep. The beauty of this hotel is it's age and history - you can easily feel what early San Antonio would have been. The rooms are nicely furnished and well appointed...

“Rooms were extremely clean and well stocked when we arrived. However, housekeeping did not get to our room the next day until about 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon when we were taking a break from convention events; by then, we no longer wanted room service. We requested a few towels and we just made do. ”
