We reserved a little cabin for Mother Daughter Weekend. I believe the woman who checked us in was one of the owners, and you could tell she takes pride in the establishment. Each cabin has a view of the beautiful little harbor and marina. The cabin was clean and cozy. It had all the amenities we needed. The resort was very quiet at night, and we slept well. We would definitely stay here again.
The cabins and resort were pristine and well manicured. There were not many people at the resort, so it was the perfect serene weekend getaway for our family in need of some calm relaxation. Jan Juan in January is just the kind of slow mo time away we were looking for. I recommend the San Juan brewery for beers and eats if you have time.I look forward to our return.
Absolutely perfect experience here. Kind of booked a last-minute trip with a surprise family visit from the East Coast. The cabins were perfectly clean and the views were even better than photos online showed. All of the staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. Was a little skeptical being so far from Friday Harbor, however that turned out to be a great thing as at night it was so dark and so quiet, you would have thought you were truly in the middle of nowhere. Resort also provides great services like a fire pit w/fire wood, yard games, and kayaks to paddle around the harbor. Definitely got money's worth, will certainly be coming back.
We loved our four day stay at this beautiful resort. Rustic enough to feel we were a part of nature but also had wonderful additions such as the gas fireplace, complete kitchen and amazing art work. We really enjoyed being able to eat dinner in the cabin while watching the resident seal cruise by. The large picture windows gave a wonderful view of the boats and harbor. The location was also a perfect place to start from to explore the island. Management and staff were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly consider another visit!
This was our first visit to the San Juan Islands; it was September, towards the end of the tourist season and the weather was gorgeous and the island very quiet. Snug Harbor is a 15 minute drive from Friday Harbor and I liked being in a more isolated location, but note that you need a car to get anywhere. The cedar cabins are quaint, comfortable, clean and quiet. Our cabin had a fully equipped kitchen and a grill (if you intend to cook your own meals, be sure to shop in Friday Harbor before you go to the hotel). I took the complimentary kayak out onto the bay several times. The coffee bar offers tasty pastries and the store is pretty well stocked, but note that it closes early, The hotel offers a small fitness center with a small treadmill and assorted free weights and one weight machine. I did some yoga on the grass facing the bay in front of our cabin. The environment is quite serene and a perfect place to unwind. It was a pleasure to sit in a chair on the grassy area in front of the cabins and just read a book, watch the boats come and go and play cornhole.…
We had a 1-bedroom cabin, with sleeper sofa in living room, that was comfortable for 2 adults. The cedar wood cabins have a contemporary design and are beautifully decorated, and clean. We were on the lower level, with a view of Mitchell Bay - which we explored by kayak - and access to walks on the marina and beach. The staff provided support regarding all our tourism questions. We found our stay to be relaxing, and recommend this resort.
My new husband and I spent our honeymoon at Snug Harbor Resort and explored all San Juan island has to offer. We loved that the resort offered more privacy and a more relaxing atmosphere than many of the places around Friday Harbor, though is within 20 minutes of any activity we wanted to do! The resort is clean, well built, and well maintained. The cabin was quaint, neat, and had everything we needed. If we needed something a little extra (more champagne, snacks, cards) the little shop at the lobby had it! There we found the staff to be incredibly nice and helpful. The staff also run the coffee shop there which was a lovely treat for lazy mornings.
This is our second summer in a row staying at Snug Harbor Resort. The staff is attentive, informative, patient, and kind. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins are well apportioned and clean. The gift shop and coffee bar include great items to enhance your stay. Until next time, don't change a thing!
We had a wonderful few days enjoying a spotless, well appointed, comfortable cabin overlooking the marina. The cabin was well appointed allowing us to enjoy dinner in and eating on the deck with a great view. There is great public space by the water with fire pits to enjoy with your group or in the company of new friends. You can take out some kyacks and enjoy the resort from the water. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All the top island hotspots are within 20 minutes of the resort. Book now.
We really enjoyed our stay at Snug Harbor. Although it is a trek from Friday Harbor, we loved the peacefulness of being away from the touristy area. It was so nice to have a well furnished waterfront cabin, and once we realized that there were no close restaurants, we took advantage of the full kitchen and prepared dinner in our cabin for 2 of our 3 nights. Our favorite feature of the resort were the communal fire pits. They provide all the supplies to light a fire, which we did with a bottle of wine each night. The main reason for 4 stars, instead of 5, is that the beds weren’t very comfy and the bedroom does get warm at night, although we were very appreciative of the floor fan provided. Despite that, I would still highly recommend this resort to friends visiting the area, and would also return! One bonus tip - make sure to visit Roche Harbor at least once to pick up some donuts from Lime Kiln Cafe. These are the best donuts we have ever had!…
