The Nest On Saratoga Lake

The Nest On Saratoga Lake

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE NEST! Looked adorable online . When we got to property our code did not work. We had to call three different numbers to get a code to get into our room. When we finally got into our room it was not cleaned from last guest . See pictures . We immediately left and called to request refund for the one night they charged our CC. It has been 3 days and they have still not credited us . DO NOT BOOK

We stayed for 2 night’s while visiting Saratoga Springs and Lake George. I have mixed feelings about the property and really wanted to like it, but falls short in a few categories.

Pros:
Good location. Ten minutes to Saratoga, 40 minutes to Lake George
Very clean and comfortable room
Pleasant staff

Cons:
Our room was overlooking the road and was very noisy. Could not sleep well.
Coffee\snack station was located directly outside our room. Again, very noisy.
Coffee\snacks were not refreshed early enough in the morning.
Over priced

Room Tip: Request a room with a lake view. Road facing rooms are very noisy, especially the Fish Creek room.

Lovely room in this cute little find. Our room - 'Beachside Bungalow' was beautifully fitted out in a beach style, no air con, but there was a small fan which was fine for our stay. A communal area on the second floor has coffee, tea and cereal bars available for all guests, with complimentary bottled water in our room. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which does not take reservations and was busy when we first checked it out. We went back later and were allocated a table. Nice atmosphere, service and food good. Staff in the restaurant do not seem to have anything to do with the accommodation and therefore we're unable to answer general questions. The surrounding area is pretty and the nest is opposite the beach, however this is inaccessible at night as it is fenced off and a charge is made for its use during the day. Nothing is within walking distance, so a one night stay was just right for us. There are three parking spaces reserved for the property so not sure what would happen if they were all taken as we did not need to find out. Clear instructions provided in terms of how to access the property and allocated room with a number to call for any questions/concerns. Overall a great overnight stay with one of the best fitted out rooms I have stayed in for a long time.

I had been talking to someone through text messages regarding an overnight stay at The Nest while heading form NY to VT. It involved me checking in late and leaving early in the morning. When we got there, there were only a few cars in the parking lot (off season) and we found out they must have been in the bar area because when we got up, no one was there and no cars in the parking lot. Needless to say, it was very quiet since there was no one else in the building. The bar was a bit noisy until about midnight. We stayed in the Beachside room which is pretty much above the bar. I would pick a different room only because of that since I am an extremely light sleeper. The room itself was cozy and the we woke to looking directly out on the lake. Very nice! I would definitely stay here again!

I would be tempted to rate this less than five because of the noise at the bar and restaurant which could be heard from our room. But then I remembered it was Friday night and that is probably normal. Other than that the room was very cozy, the bed was big and comfortable and they even had a fan in our room, presumably to drown out any noise from outside. We would definitely stay here again.

I was disappointed in several things at this hotel. There was no parking because they put a concert tent in their parking lot. The concert ended at 10 so by 11pm we were finally able to legally park our car. There is no hotel staff on site. We were calling to resolve our parking issue and waited two hours (and two calls) before the service was able to get someone to call us back. The hotel is a few feet from a road so there is traffic noise. The room curtains were so thin that you had no privacy and no light control and could not sleep past dawn. The laminate floor was bubbling up. And finally, the shower was so small that you had to hold the shower curtain out with one hand to keep it from sticking to you. Overall, a very disappointing night for $200. Try another facility.

We stayed at the Nest last weekend. I was not expecting it to be on a busy road and have an outdoor entertainment venue. Parking was difficult and it was loud. We had a leaky sink, no fresh towels available, and we had two people walk into our room thinking it was the restroom for the restaurant. There is no one on site to talk with and assist you with questions. Very poorly managed. Would no recommend and will not return.

We regretting staying at the Nest, especially at $388 for the night, with no breakfast, no ice, no refrigerator, limited parking, loud noise into the night, VERY small room and few services!!! I wear women’s size 7 1/2 shoe and I had to walk sideways to get into the bed… with only a matter of inches on either side of the bed! We discourage you from staying here.

Wifi not working, broken windows. The room was so close to the road that it shook every time a car went by, and when a truck passed it seemed like an earthquake. It was so bad that we left. The manger agreed to refund my card, but never did! Now I have to dispute the charges. Beware about staying here!!

We stayed here because it was on a lake, they should have told us that the lake and beach was closed due to pollution! There was no management available except some guy we kept trying to locate who was in the bar.

They do not respond to emails or phone calls. They do not acknowledge a cancellation in reservations. And then they charge you for your cancelled reservation, in our case to the tune of $500! Very bad.
