My family visited the Mimslyn every New Years Eve for the annual dinner dance when I was growing up (circa 1990). The hotel was charming the way only old, worn hotels can be. I haven't been there in years and recently spent one night there with my husband and parents. To say the renovation is beautiful is an understatement. The...

What courteous, wonderful, and helpful staff! My husband, three-year-old son, and I went to the Mimslyn last June for a 2-night stay that coincided with the infamous derecho of 2012. We ended up staying only one-night (during which the hotel lost power and did not get it back the next day). When I called them to reschedule on a rain...

Was a little trepidacious about the Mimslyn Inn after reading some of the reviews. But our stay was fine. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The decor while a bit too old world and refined for my taste was comfortable. It was great to sit on the porch late to view the mountains of the Shenandoah. The Historic room...

Very beautiful inn inside and out. Doormen were WONDERFUL, especially Paul - very helpful and friendly. Waitress in Speakeasy was also wonderful. Reception desk and waitresses in Circa restaurant were not as friendly nor were they eager to serve. Rooms were beautiful but very small and crowded. Bed Ok but pillows not comfortable.

We were married here in 2011 and it was a fantastic weekend...our friends and family filled the entire Inn for Friday and Saturday night - it was like having a private mansion for a weekend. The scenery is beautiful in the fall. The rooms that we've stayed in the past couple of years are all pretty nice - the suites...

Nicely renovated old inn. Friendly staff, nice upscale restaurant, and the speakeasy had nice happy hour specials. Room was very neat and clean. Near Skyline Drive entrance ar RT211 (Panorama entrance) takes about ten minutes to get to the top of the mountain. Clearly the nicest hotel in Luray.

The hotel is your best bet in Luray as far as I can tell. We stayed for three nights with our ten year old son. I am not sure the visit merited three nights since it does take a good thirty to forty minutes to get to hiking in the NP. As other reviewers have noted, it is a clean,...

We stayed here for 4 nights beginning August 6 to be near the NP and other attractions. The stay began on a great note when the front desk informed us we were upgraded because of our length of stay. We were put in a Skyline Suite-the largest Room it was immaculate and spacious, we were with our kids, suite here...

Recently restored old hotel. Beautiful restoration. We had a modest sized room-got there at 5 and left at 7 the next morning so room work fine. Quiet, clean with large bath. Comfortable bed. Dinner on the front porch in rather perfect weather was very good. Staff all responsive and attentive.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Mimslyn Inn in Luray, Va. We found the Inn on line through TripAdvisor's website. We were en route to Charlottesville and wanted to stay somewhere en route near the Luray Caverns/Skyline Drive. It was the perfect location to celebrate a special anniversary. The Inn is totally impressive when you drive up the...
